Sir, @15:05, the cylinder can become scored by the way you let it run hard on first start up, and then needlessly running it WOT, on a new saw no doubt, to ‘check’ for chain lubrication. Let me tell you a secret and anyone else out there doing this same inane thing; it either is working, or it’s not. Run it in some wood, and look at the bar and chain. You will be able to see if it is getting lubricated. It’s just a pet peeve of mine.
Looks to be a lot of bang for the buck. My only concern for you and anyone else that buys this, is getting the air filter as you mentioned, as well as bar and chain.
Enjoyed the video and tasteful background music, I have to say. Your lucky to have such a great Dad.
The property and the video whilst it was first cutting, with the Sun low in the background, very nice!
Please have your Dad use some PPE when cutting. Anything can happen, when we all least expect it. Stay safe and Healthy! Peace 👍😊

@@timkaczmarowski8151 not exactly. There are some variations in the air filter arrengement. My dereal 5820g uses the same filter setup as the Salem master 5820g and the 55 cc huyosen. However the wemars 5820g uses a plastic cartridge. Even on the saws that use the plastic cartridge there are two sizes

I am not a chinese chainsaws fan but your chainsaw is the best quality chinese chainsaw i have ever seen.Instead of a chinese chainsaw with a generic name, a chinese chainsaw with a chinese name is the best choice you can make.In my country(Romania) can be found as yusen/silen5800.In the future try to use a Stihl or a Husqvarna saw chain and your chainsaw will cut like through butter.Greetings from Romania!

Besides the quality of the chain is how good the person is at sharpening, the secret with any chainsaw is a correctly razor sharp chain.

I do agree if you have a simple job by a cheaper good saw because of me too much before you use it again if you do that again I always done tree works my retiring chainsaw was a old 28 that was used on the truck for 20 years it finally died so I bought a smaller still saw I think I paid like $125 and I've been using it for the last 10 years

I do not understand how so many people buy from Amazon. I recently bought an arbor saw on ebay. It's Chinese make and sold under various names. Mine is a Chainsaw brand, no doubt the original saw everyone else copied. Yes, joking. I haven't used it all that much but I'm impressed buy it's ease of starting and has decent power-compression. A tad over a c-note. I may replace my ms250 with a similar Chinese saw. However, I really like my ms180 and will stick with it. Not sure where you folks live but yellow poplar where I live grow to massive size. The wood is terrific, straight trees that grow quickly. My 125 year old house is sided in poplar clap board. Cheers.

Man your going to get hurt one day. Your not handling that saw correctly. Let the saw do the cutting. Your operating it like it's a hand saw, moving it in and out. Put those teeth against the tree and let the chainsaw do the cutting. Then reposition it to another angle so your not cutting through using the full length of the chain across your cut. Let's say 30 degree on one side then move to 30 degree the other side the cut the peak in the middle then repeat. Stay safe.

I always mix 1 gallon with a small STHIL bottle of synthetic oil and I don't have so far any problems with my Chinese Chainsaw, just proceed with the same maintenance as other chainsaws empty the gas tank when you do not use it

  • @jasonwb6884
    @jasonwb6884 2 роки тому +2

Not really your first Chinese chainsaw. Poulan has been Chinese made for awhile, ever since they were bought by Black and Decker I believe. This chainsaw should work fine. I still believe in a higher brand like Echo, Shindaiwa, Tanaka, Maruyama for Japan brands or Stihl, (Sachs)Dolmar for German brands. I think Dolmar is still German made. In chainsaws you mostly get what you pay for, but I can see your Logic. A Lumberjack is always going to use a brand like Stihl...cause they can trust on Stihl quality for the most part, and a down tool costs you more money.

The Huyosen operator's manual (Page 12, Figure 1) shows the bucking spike oriented upside down. If you are new to chainsaws and following the illustrations in the operator's manual, it is an easy mistake to make. Good, comprehensive review otherwise.

You have the dog on the front of the saw upside down. You have used the wrong bar oil...need to use light oil rather than sticky stuff...10 weight or in winter time no more than 20w oil. And the mix oil is NOT designed for chainsaw which gets way way hotter than the weed whacker, or outboard motor. Do NOT use outboard oil. Chainsaw oil is designed for much hotter. The airbox is very tight but you can wash the air filter once in awhile and it will last almost forever.

Just get a decent chainsaw to do a comparison with... like get a stihl 462... (i know its a lot more then 400 bucks but yea), u can get a old 044 for like 200 bucks that runns well (and has been for 20 years)... For 1 the stihl saw will have like double the power... making u a lot faster at processing wood... also u can cut bigger logs... Also all the parts wont break every time... and it will last u 20-30 years... instead of the 2-3 years a throwaway chinese would.. So id rather own 1 saw that does it all then 10 cheap new ones that are just not it...

That chainsaw has a rubber cast fuel hose that cracked at 4 months. The hose uses an oversised locator /gas tank seal below the carburetor.
When you have to replace the rubber hose ( and you will )
Use the modern ethonol resistant fuel line and use "seal all " glue and sealant to mak up the extra space of the oversize locator hole.

1st thing, and big mistake made, was starting the saw up the 1st time and pinning the throttle wide open. i bet if you tear down those poulans you'll see why they died. the head and cylnder on the saw is aluminum but the pistons are usually steel. the two metals don't heat up at the same rate. starting a cold 2 stroke and then pinning the throttle wide open heats the piston up quickly and expands it. you'll wind up scoring the piston and cylinder wall at the exhaust port. don't believe me, go watch Jacks small engine repair channel and tear down those poluans i'm betting thats what killed most of them. i'm guilty of this too. i didn't know either. its not like the manuals say "let it warm up for a minute before going full throttle"
don't cut stuff on the ground. again i'm guilty of it too. you'll get dirt in the chain and the teeth of the chain will get bugger up and won't cut worth a crap.
the log dogs are on upside down.
the good; Dad rocking the m81 woodland pants.
the really good. showing the air filter. most of these chinese saws use a flimsy plastic cartridge for a filter and its just pressed on. its also crack prone. that paper filter, with the rubber gasket, held down with a metal and bolt, yeah thats the way it should be done.
alot of these "cheapest saw on ebay/amazon" reviews don't open the top cover. thank you for doing so!

Still had great compression so I got it for 200$. Was worth the gamble because they had poured gas in it contaminated with a lot of water which they didn't know. I cleaned the carb and tank and it's been running perfectly for the last 2 years! I guess that'd a Steal of a deal on a Stihl?😅
