That was a great comparison. Both ran great but the advantage to the Fms k10.Being able to switch to low gear to get through them rocks was a big advantage plus having a higher top end for the punch needed getting though the sand.Stock for stock only thing I see the traxxas has over the Fms is body removal system. I only use my minis for slow rock crawling so all my trx4m’s have low range gears which is fine for me.But even with the low gears installed Fms still has better low range modulation. Kudos to Fms for putting out great minis lately.
Thanks woodies and yes indeed fms is just killing it lately i still have to unbox the big one and the redcat accent as well busy week for me also the run vids as well
Definitely love the sound of that gearing in the fms. Seemed like the trx4 needed to be on the power more to get thru stuff while the fcx18 just flowed right thru
Thank you for the comparison. I'm really torn between these two and have a hard time picking a favorite. I think what I would pick (and may buy soon) is the Traxxas with the Furitek plug-in brushless set which completely overcomes its primary weaknesses: bad torque and modulation at low speeds. If not for that I would pick the FMS for great out of the box modulation with low/high gearing but I really dislike the noise it makes.
Yeah the traxxas definitely needs upgrades to perform better but its not as loud for sure the fms is a great performer but definitely on the loud side indeed
That was beautiful to see the 2 truck running in water. I will receive my fcx18 cheyenne k10 tommorow and start upgrade. Yesterday I receive my Redcat Ascent 18 and already install brushless with 64mm tire and brass wheel :)
Nice you will enjoy the k10 its awesome i also have the redcat ascent as well i got the silver one i came in on Sunday i just haven't had time to do the unboxing but ill will be filming the unboxing tonight and probably post the video in a couple of days !! Ive been busy doing some videos including this one you saw also filmed and posted a video of the UDIRC INKFISH (jetboat/jetski) today so yes i have been busy this week
Great comparison buddy, enjoyed it very much as much as I like the FMS. I think I will buy the trx4m only because of after market support, I have the FMS glacier and after mkt products has been an issue. Especially the long rear drive shaft mine broke and I wound up having to repair it, not very good but it works. Anyway great job thanks for sharing ☮️🙏✝️
Not for the fcx18 brother there's a ton of aftermarket support man everything that fits and are upgrades for the fcx24 are pretty much all the same therefore u can buy any fcx24 upgrade and it will fit the fcx18 k10 or lc80 except the links other than that all parts are swappable fyi but of u want the trx4m then u can go with it as well
@@NWrcadventures Great that's good to know, but the links and the drive shaft were the main concern. FMS has after market links and drive shaft replacements but not upgraded stuff Like metal and even the shocks are not like most others the way they fit the axles. But everyone has a favorite. I decided to get the WPL km series c24-1 and work with it plus there are lots of upgrade parts available I'll probably just stay with 1/16 and 1/10 Thanks so much for the feedback appreciate it. ☮️🙏✝️
@@mypassionrc-studioxd40lous66 just and fyi the links on the fcx18 k10 are metal so you wont have to worry about that there just so you know as far as the drive shaft goes i found one on Amazon f 16 bucks with free 2 day delivery also fyi but its ok brother whatever works for you is good 🤟no problem 👍
Nice vid brother! Both trucks did a great job, but if I had to pick, it's K10 for the win. The portal axles and 2 speed trans make a world of difference. Awesome comparison!
Nice run! Both trucks are great! Thanks for the comparison. I'm thinking about getting the fms next. My trx4m High Trail and Bronco are great with mods but i would like to add the fms to the collection as well.
The FMS definitely wins for performance, but man I gotta say the TRX4M just looks the best!! In my opinion at least. Honesty think I’m gonna get a black TRX4M K10, and then wait to see if FMS releases either a classic 4Runner, or Hilux for the FCX18 platform. Great video as always man!!
Thanks brother yes the 4m is definitely a preety truck indeed the performance is just not there but i really like its scale looks the FMS looks awesome as well but definitely performs better in the long run both are awesome rigs in my book brother hehe 🤟
Outside of being waterproof, the Traxxas doesn't have much on the FCX line right now. I have an LC80 and LOVE it. My K10 Hightrail is A LOT of fun however and BOTH are fantastic trail crawlers (what I mainly use them for). If Traxxas could kill that torque twist (way worse on the Defender, WAY worse) and give it a 2-speed trans they'd right be right back up there though. Great trucks and great comparison vid. 👍
Thank brother you are right about that they need to step it up some i have three 4Ms and i love em all but yes that torque twist has been problematic i think portals might help with that and of course the 2sp i have three fcxs and i love em all that slow is just awesome 🤟also just got the fcx10 but i haven't opened it yet unboxing coming soon to the channel 👍
Traxxas doesn't offer a two-speed but MEUS racing does. I installed one in my TRX4M hightrail F150. That transmission is a game changer! Combined with the 87 turn motor that comes with the trans and injoras newest ESC the truck has super smooth low speed modulation. It acts like a brushless equipped truck.
@@d_n_r_rc_racing2449 ahh yes i know about the meus system its preety impressive as far as i know the also make portals and i believe injora does make portals for the trx4ms as well
