Much appreciated and I just subscribed. I grew up listening to shortwave broadcast beginning in the 60's and have been an ardent listener to present. I appreciate your channel and the details you give us on current SWL listening and up to date information ...
Love the AI generated images, Andre! I really like this format as it reminds me of Al Jazeera's podcast on TouYube. They use graphics sparingly, probably serving as a screen saver on full screen mode, LOL. 📻☺ The best thing is that, you don't have to upload eleven minutes' worth of live footage of your radios at home, although a closeup of your Sony ICF-J40's translucent green dial pointer at 07:24 was a very nice touch indeed. 😎 Great job, Andre...will be looking forward to RAI Digital broadcasts from now on. 🙏 P.S. Mixing random sounds of shortwave radio propagation fades into your voice stream would be quite interesting to listen to. It's a just a thought I've had in my mind for a while. Simulating how Radio Ifryika FM would sound from your QTH would be a great idea for a podcast about SW radio updates around the world. 🌏👍
Thanks for your comment, glad you liked it! This is something a bit new for me, but I am happy to hear that long-time viewers on my channel like you also like the idea. Thank you also for the suggestion about the random SW fades, nice idea, I will do that sometimes.
@@swlistening My china, you've just leveled up your channel by quite a few notches! 👍🏼👍🏼 Andre, I've already told you that your voice is very suitable for the radio medium. It's a gift that you have.. Embrace it. Some people have a commanding, pleasant and soothing voice that really grabs the listener's attention. I have a rather nasal sounding tone and I don't really like how my voice sounds and I have to live with it. 😐 If you narrated an hour long documentary I will not fall asleep! 😄 Looking forward to your next podcast from Radio Andre International! ☺️📻👏🏼🌍🎙️
Thank you, Andre! I have always enjoyed listening to Radio Spain! Your DX Program is full of useful tidbits & station, frequency, & UTC times! Thanks...
Thank You Andre, being following you a year ago after bought Tecsun PL-330. coming back to SWL, use to be in my teen years ...😂 Greetings from Malaysia
Thank you so much for your comment! Like you, I also returned to SWL about three years ago. I was a keen DXer in my teen years, and then drifted away. Now, some decades later, I am back and enjoying every minute!
Great idea and thank you for your efforts! It’s good to have a SW channel from your continent, most videos are a view from Europe or North America. Good news on Exterior España. I was recently on holiday in Spain and took the TEF6686. The country is rich in radio listening options, lots of MW and FM stations, there seemed to be red and white masts every few miles. Quite easy to pick up some North African stations from there too. 73 Franco
Hi Franco, thank you so much for your comment. Very interesting what you say about Spain. It is great that they are still using FM, SW and MW. I have actually caught two Spanish MW signals here in South Africa, it's fun for me to keep trying to catch those.
This takes me back a bit. I have a Barlow Wadley XCR-30 one of your country's better products. Bought it while working at the S.A. Navy's transmitter station at Goedverwacht in the 1970s and still have it. Excellent piece of kit!
Very interesting and a good length. Looking forward to future editions. I need to listen to your video about Ifrikya FM -- I was sitting outside yesterday listening to them on my PL-990. Really great music!
Glad you liked it! I will keep making my videos like always with my catches and reviews, but I will also do this now. For people who like to listen to some news and not necessarily watch.
Thanks André. I enjoyed the video. I often listen to Glen Hauser and enjoy that too. I like the AI listener pics. Coincidentally I was chatting to a friend today about my visit to South Africa a few years ago. So nice to hear news from there.
Hi Paul, thank you so much for the suggestion. I haven't actually thought of this, but I will look into it for sure. I know UA-cam now has a podcast tab and they are quite keen to promote podcasts, that is why I used it. But it makes sense to look at other options.
Hi Andre. Just a shot in the dark here, but are you aware of a relatively cheap/entry level radio, specifically with Air and - available locally? It is for a youngster who is interested in radio & aviation.
Hi Johan, unfortunately there isn't really anything available locally. I would say the Sihuadon (XHDATA) R-108 is probably the least expensive radio you will find with air band. You can order it from the XHDATA website. I have used them many, many times in the past, it is a reliable site and shipping is quick. Usually about two weeks. Here: xhdata.com.cn/collections/xhdata-hot-selling/products/sihuadon-r-108-fm-sw-mw-lw-airband-dsp-portable-radio-1?variant=43660149195070 Your other option is, of course, the D-808, it is currently on sale for $65 on the XHDATA website. The R-108 is $42.

Great stuff ,
SWL inspired me to get my ham license at 16 in 1975...
Thanks Richard! I'm also planning to get my ham licence, maybe by the end of this year.
Reminds me of "World of Radio" that I often listened to years ago.
Thanks Henry. I think World of Radio is still available, I think it can be heard on some SW stations via WRMI in North America.
I love this, thank you! I'm so glad I just happened upon your channel, and I look forward to future episodes. Cheers!
Thank you so much and welcome aboard!
