In my opinion the extension of the free leg takes place very early, and there is a lot of tension in her arms. More flexion in the elbow of the arm that swings forward would be better
For me, I think the extension helps, as it’s what FloJo did, also…that long forward movement in her lower legs just kept her moving forward. It only works on certain folks, it appears, though, and I’ve analyzed my mechanics in a particular race where I wasn’t running my fastest, but it appears I’m flying but wasting some of my power for huge height in the air, when my legs came down right with perfect triangles, I felt I wanna work on a little more extension myself. You and I are in complete agreement about Jeter’s tension. I honestly feel Jeter could’ve easily run 10.5 if she would just relax…lack of relaxation was a huge flaw of the Jet it seems she and TaLou were amongst the worst of the professionals with.
