Was the intent of this series supposed to be a focus on Mrs Trump and the projects she's supporting or to use Mrs Trump as a smokescrean to bash President Trump? It would seem that more support for Mrs Trump's initiatives could bring more good than the constant negativity.

Melania Trump is a strong person who definitely walks quietly but carries a large stick! She is smart, well informed, and doesn´t mince words or avoid questions. She doesn´t hide behind her beautiful face, and a fantastic body, or secret service, or her husband, the President of the United States of America! She is definitely a force to be reconded with! Whatever haters say about that woman, Melania has real and simple values that count thousand times more than fake diplomacies of other first ladies. I respect a lot the fact that she admits that when she sees something wrong about her husband's actions, then she takes action and affect his opinion. That makes her more true! More human! Who other first ladies from the past did so? Most of them used to show that their husbands were unmistakable. They carried their "First lady" title more as a decorative title. Melania doesn't hide. She presents herself more as a human being with all the emotions and vaulnerabilities like most of us. She is the kind of person who has the guts to say that she did something wrong and changed her thought or action afterwards. From the other side, there are those countless hypocrites who know so easily to judge people by their first mistake! Like they didn't ever do a mistake.. When it comes for them, it is human to do a mistake and reconsider, but not for the others..!

Melania is more than a REAL woman! She has integrity. She is authentic. She supports her husband and she supports her country, the US for America. She follows her intuition and it is so very obvious that Melania truly loves children. When I saw that jacket, I knew what the message was and to whom it was being directed!

I'm really surprised that everyone in the comments are actually defending our First Lady. I mean this just shows @abcnews, that this may have not been handled with grace. Certainly, we all have questions, but the sensationalization of news toward the administration from your own correspondents who should not be biased by the way, have really failed in this interview.

Honestly, I believe her reasoning behind wearing the jacket. Not a fan of her husband, but her explanation as to why she wore that jacket sounds plausible to me.
She deals with far more than she should have to. The same people who relentlessly ridicule her for what she wears are the same people who advocate women's freedom of expression. Funny how that sort of thing doesn't apply to people they don't agree with.

ITA. I am not into politics at all. The only time I've watched Trump was when I was trapped in an airport with CNN. So I don't take sides, I'm not bias at all. She is VERY beautiful, VERY classy & seems to be a good person overall! I like how she got one up on the media with her jacket!

Melania will always be known for two things: Plagiarizing her RNC Speech and the horrible decision to wear that hideous jacket. I am usually neutral when it comes to her, but those decisions will haunt her forever. What made her think for one second that it was an "appropriate time" to wear a jacket like that?
Too bad the President has to handle Melania about immigration policies and why they are what they are. She needs to be better informed. Or, maybe ABC did some editing to make it look like she doesn't support the policies of having to determine if the parent really is the parent and that takes separating the child from the parent. Also, separation is needed because the adult is committing a crime and goes to detention where the conditions are not set up to keep kids with alleged parents, which takes us back to having to determine if the adult and child are even related. Hopefully, she wakes up on this and sees she is being used to attack her husband on the #1 issue that got him elected.
You did know that Melania used visa fraud to come to the United States, right? Failure to comply with the terms of a visa invalidates it. She's able to commit violations of our immigration laws, but lock up others (in for-profit prisons) for doing the same thing?

Moz R Almost 2 years in AND we have yet to understand her purpose. She claims the position of "First Lady" however has yet to prove being worthy of such title. She's done nothing in my opinion. Yet she's enjoyed every benefit.

For those that feel ABC did a bias job on the interview---You do REALIZE that her team are the ones that chose ABC. Secondly, Charlotte Pence was also booked on "The View" which is a show in the ABC NEWS Division. The interview was fine. All the questions had been vetted by her team . So, she already had preset answers for the questions. It's just sad her and her team couldn't come up with better answers than this.

About the Jacket, I think I understand her reasons, her angle. Also knowing she is Slovenian, non-English speakers look at the English language in a very multi-dimensional way. Laibach a Slovenian band, for example, are not Nazi's or Communists but they sing songs in irony and as satire. Like their cover of "Life is Life" take's on a whole new meaning. This flies over peoples heads sometimes.
