Band Only version of One by metallica. You'll see the orchestra playing, but you won't hear them. All you'll hear is metallica. Their best performance of One ever.
Metallica never sounded more epic without Michael Kamen and that symphony behind them. This in my opinion was Metallica's highest peak they have ever reached and they have had many peaks. Such a shame it was never in bluray format though, man what a masterpiece that show was. Would have love to have been there live.
Would be nice with HD vision but the audio is the main thing and thankfully the stereo and surround tracks on the DVD are very high quality. You forget you're watching SD after awhile anyway and just get lost in the epic music!
I think, there is no song that scares and fascinates me more than “One”. That’s the worst nightmare ever happened to human (thanks to the song I read “Johnny got his gun”) This version is much more powerful, also because of Jason’s improvisation himself. (I still can’t hold my tears on “Please, God, wake me...”)
It was heavily fixed in the studio, with auto tune. But make no mistake, they were fucking incredible here. Aside from right now, IMO; best James’s voice has ever sounded.
@Blackfist2106 I'm pretty sure Lars misunderstood Hetfield's "keep it simple Lars" :P yeah, double bass fills and other stuff is NAILED here. I love this S&M vibe, everything is just perfect.
Simplemente increíble esa versión, a mi parecer la mejor versión de one en vivo con la sinfónica de San Francisco el trabajo que hizo el maestro michael kame fue increíble.
I think he can keep time eventually but he does like going off. His drumming always remained tight and good to me throughout the 90s into the early 2000s if you ask me
Am I crazy, or can i CLEARLY hear the orchestra? Is it because I've heard it 1000 times? Is my mind putting things in that aren't there? Please help debating going on insanity medication...
It's because the orchestra is being picked up in the background on James' and Jason's vocal mics. In some other songs like For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Memory Remains it's even more noticeable during the parts where the crowd sings along. Would be quite hard to completely remove the enormous wall of sound that an entire orchestra makes from the vocal tracks without degrading the quality.
symphony kept metallica on tempo. That helps big time. Probably adds to why them 4 are on timing in this track with symphony muted. Not to say they are off when playing One in other venues.
@@igortokarski9517not drop d# but d# standard. there's a difference between drop tunings and standard tunings Drop tunings is when the lowest string is tuned a whole step lower than every other string. Drop D tuning is DADGBE Standard tuning is when every string is tuned down at the exact same time. D Standard is DGFCAD
I wish there was an option on the dvd version of S&M where you can only hear the band and an option to hear the band and the orchestra with the crowd and an option to not hear the crowd and the orchestra and just the band
Yeah it was an option on the DVD. Plus it showed how tight they played with an orchestra since they have to follow not Lars, but Michael Kamen's timing which had to be on point.
My respect for Jason grows stronger every day.
Well hello there

"Metallica's highest peak" you're joking right?
@@RandomPerson-ui3xv i agree with him, this concert is by far one of their most, if not the most tightest performance they’ve done.
I agree with you 💯!

James is a monster singing in this version o: awesome!
The way Lars performs One for this will never be topped ever! His fills, his tightness, he's definitely on GOD mode 🤘
Jason's best performance playing One
This is a masterpiece
Best Lars Tama drum set(finish and configuration) and Cymbals(when he used ride and splash) IMO...

I like to pretend this is a studio recording, it definitely sounds like one.
But you can hear bass
It was heavily fixed in the studio, with auto tune. But make no mistake, they were fucking incredible here. Aside from right now, IMO; best James’s voice has ever sounded.
It was not fixed with autotune, dumb fuck. There is no autotune on S & M. You are hearing echo, and reverb on James's voice, Fucking idiot.
@@MrParkerman6 calm your tits

ZGAMEOVER agree!!
Ahora dígalo sin llorar...
Aquarius Games Pero que decís? el "no no NOOO" es lo mejor del tema aparte de que la voz le queda perfecta y limpia

@Blackfist2106 I'm pretty sure Lars misunderstood Hetfield's "keep it simple Lars" :P yeah, double bass fills and other stuff is NAILED here. I love this S&M vibe, everything is just perfect.
Very beautiful ...
James hit that demon "NO NO NO NO NO" 🔥
2022 and I’m still listening to this song

Que peeedazo de version de este tremendo temaso¡¡... sueño con ir a verlos¡¡
Damn Lars plays awesome, I love this version
Sounds awesome!
It sounds tight because Lars is being forced to keep decent time, with the orchestra behind them, it’s pretty hard to go too much off grid.
I think he can keep time eventually but he does like going off.
His drumming always remained tight and good to me throughout the 90s into the early 2000s if you ask me
This is the best fucking concert ever with facking Jason .
Back in early 00's Me n ma homies, always fly whn we play this shit..yall feel me..

maybe the onw who shares this audio he silenced them from original audio

Loved the way he scream NO NO NO way more than the high pitched Neeeeeoooooooooowwwww he does now.
I wanna hear the symphony on it's own too
symphony kept metallica on tempo. That helps big time. Probably adds to why them 4 are on timing in this track with symphony muted. Not to say they are off when playing One in other venues.
Jason is still my fave bassist for Metallica ❤
@Scarecrow545 true i what i ment was everysong that has double bass except dyers eve

This one is the one and only thing thing that makes it happen!!!
This sounds much better w/o the orchestra imo

@CheeseMcCrackers then i got a problem!!!(and Metallica 4 Ever)
back when lars could play ! the good old days
Which he still can play! I know you've seen the BTS of Hardwired. Lars is still an awesome drummer!
How did you do this?
Overkill the DVD has a feature where you can hear symphony only and band only
Almost sounds like James is playing a full step down as opposed to their usual half-step down
How did you get this?
How did you do this?!
@Metallica891FAN Me too

0:36 to explode
shakira canta esta cancion!!!!
Oh James says oh no
HD? lol... My ass
@88fanforlife
no
@Metallica891FAN And I will buy the gas and matches to do so.
sounds weirde with out the orchestra you can tell his voice is going with the orchestra
this a good proformance but their 89 profrmance is much better
When you try to play bass along with this you realize just how awesome Jason Newsted had to be to play alongside a crappy drummer like Lars Ulrich.
Next time just do the instrumental s minus the orchestra.
Ulrich's last good show
+Gerardo Z
he was good in 2000, just more simplified
and I'll fill up the place with hydrochloric acid and throw some sodium in the mix.
Why?
Lars Ulrich is worth approximately $250m....that's how shit his double bass is...
Lol what??????
bro i must say that but this is those moment you fuck up and destroy the Metallica masterpiece version of those song. unsubscribe
good job! you ruined it! the orchestra made it even better
Go listen to it then, this is just to hear what it would've sounded like xD
+TacticalSeven35
he didn't ruin it, this was an option on the s&m dvd

yes.
