I will try this. I have the Mavis Beacon Typing 8. But it will not download on my laptop. It says the D/Setup/exe is not compatible. I have Windows 10. It works on my home desk top computer. Do they have a Mavis that I can use on my laptop? My laptop is 64 gig. The Main screen for Mavis comes on. I push install and that when I get the message.

If you want to install it on your laptop, you should open it on desk top computer, them copy the file to a flash drive. Then plug the flash drive to your laptop. And save the file in your laptop.

I like the typing 8 edition, because it has more content, it has voice feedback for each lesson, and media center. I find the games a lot cooler than Typing 20, and I also like the opening intro that the typing 8 edition has. I like it it that typing 8 settings allow a user to remove the games from the classroom lesson computer, which allows a user to focus more on actual lessons and quizzes that include the finger positioning guide.(a user would then play games only in the Game Hallway)

Old visions of Mavis Beacon do a better job. Like the Typing 8 edition includes voice feedback before every lesson, which would assist people on what to do in each lesson. Typing 8 also includes a Media Center that has video content to teach people proper position, Finger Positioning, office ergonomics, and etc. Typing 8 edition settings allows a user to remove the games from the classroom lesson computer, which allows a user to focus more on actual lessons and quizzes that include the finger positioning guide. Then a user would then play games separately in the Game Hallway. While the Typing 20 edition has Games, Quizzes, and Lessons mixed up. Which makes sense to remove the games, since games don't include the finger position guide, that a user would needs to look at while learning how to type.
