Depressing to think the NDP is gaining in power. The party will bring misery and poverty to the masses.
They're not. There are no polls showing them gaining. They may have recently won power in manitoba, but i guarantee they wont be making that mistake again.
why do you think the immigration in Alberta from Socialist countries has been flourishing? Its all part of the Agenda.
As an Albertan, most people in Calgary have had enough of him and his arrogance. The rural voters certainly will not vote for him. Edmonton is full of public sector unions and that's where he might see some support.
He did a terrible job running a city !!!!
not that great but not as bad as Gondek.
I was at a convention right after the big flood, Nenshi seemed popular then but his last term he was unpopular.
And a massive ego like another politician we know! He was determined to get his Olympic legacy pushed through despite the fiscal evidence that it would cripple the city for decades. Nenshi is just desperate to get back in the spotlight.
Totally lined his own pockets. Allegedly.
@@tonysopranosduck416 Even Trudeau hates Nenshi. Allegedly.
As a Calgarian, Nenshi was a bully and raised taxes every year but election years. He sucked. Would not give the citizens a vote for the Olympics. That was Notley, and she sucked too.
Don't forget he detoured the tax rebates cheques we use to receive from the provincial government.
He was a terrible mayor of Calgary and now he wants to be an even worse Premier of Alberta, we made a mistake once by electing an NDP Government, and I don’t think we’re ever going to make that mistake again because we haven’t recovered from the damage Rachel Notley did to us the last time!
The cities loved Notley, they will love whomever runs the NDP, except maybe the one that takes all her meals at the all you can eat buffet.
@@linejumper8204 Haha. There is never enough food for the big purple Barney.
He's a socialist who loves taxes and will not hesitate to push through a PST.
I am Calgary and I say no too Nenshi.
The NDP in Alberta are like the NDP from Ontario, never to be elected again.
lol the NDP in Ontario were elected during a global recession and they got blamed for everything many things no Provincial Government could control. ROFL even their former Leader Bob Rae switched to being a Liberal Federally.😂😂
@@Sam19509the NDP in Ontario started giving money away and that will always cause a province to go bankrupt. The NDP always cause their own problems.
@@Sam19509True story Bob Rae was also involved deeply in a scam where they were cutting down trees in ontario where the tax per tree is 20%, having milling companies cook their books and were sending trees over to quebec to be milled at 6% tax. Then a MNR Forestry officer caught onto the scam it ended up implicating The head at the MNR at the time and all the way up to Rae himself. This officer also had 3 sorte police in quebec try and run him off the road 2 got fired and the third a woman was reassigned to northern quebec. When it came to court this MNR officer was given a Letter by Bob Rae's deputy minister telling him not to testify. When this letter was given to the judge she had the court guard take it to her office and photocopy it and the mnr officer was allowed to leave ...and nothing was heard about it since.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the average voter, especially the younger ones.
@@paulevans8348 Never underestimate what quebec has done to destroy Canada.
If we are smart he will never be the Premier of Alberta.
I agree with you, but unfortunately basing this in the average intelligence of a voter in Edmonton or Calgary all but guarantees he will win an election. There are a LOT of voters who cast their ballots for feel good political messages, and Nenshi is very good at that game. Until urban voters pay a direct, personal and high price for the failed promises and policies of those they vote for, that is not going to change - and maybe not even then. Go look at Vancouver where everyone complains about what a cesspool the city is now, and then turn right around and vote for the same politicians pushing the same failed policies, time and again.
Besides Gondek...he's the worst Mayor Calgary ever had
He came into office, Calgary has the lowest unemployment in the country. When he's done and the NDP had a Prov govt they had the worst? Morons.
He is even worse than Notley if that is possible.
Most Albertan's are not fans of Nenshi.
They aren’t fans of Smith either. The next election will be like US elections where people choose between two awful choices. Nenshi is a threat because he motivates immigrant and young voters to vote for him in big #s.😂😂
@@Sam19509most Albertans love Smith
@@tamrahawkes3170 no they don’t. She is a nut bag who told people to take ivermectin as a COVID treatment and imported questionable children’s cold medicine from Turkey most Albertans are not buying so the taxpayer has to eat whatever contract she signed lol.😂 😂
@@Sam19509Smith is becoming even more popular for standing up to the corrupt, ethically challenged blackface.
If you want dictatorships ordering you around during a pandemic, your Premier going along with everything Ottawa orders you to comply with, your taxes raised regularly, and a Provincial sales tax in Alberta , then elect Nenshi.
Nope he's gonna lose
no value in the private sector...hence once a parasite, always a parasite
I pray for Alberta to keep Danielle Smith. She is a Godsend to all of Canada.
Nenshi retired because he had no chance of re election and his last term he barely won. For Nenshi to win he has to win Calgary and Calgary was done with him. I don't think he will do well.
He never got an appointment to the senate by his buddy Trudeau which he was holding out for and hoping for .Realized it was never going to happen and now needs an income source again, why not suck the blood out of hard working Albertans ?
I hate orange and the guy was a joke a real fool and Daniel Smith is the real thing proud and great lady
As long as the Alberta NDP is a subset of the federal NDP it is irrelevant.
The majority of Calgarians hate nenshi ! Because we’ve seen how bad he was at mayor so he should crawl back under the rock he came from
No space under that rock left, Jyoti Gondick occupies it now.
Don't underestimate the newcomers who move here from the other provinces ( BC, Ontario etc.) who bring there lefty ideologies with them 😭😭😭.
And uncontrolled mass immigration. How do you think Nenshi and Gondek got into power in the first place?@@iknowbetter5075
People move to Alberta because it’s a better place to live than where they were unfortunately they bring their politics with them and try to make it just like the place they left.
...so...sort of like Palestinians?
They say that their membership has doubled since he entered the race for the leadership of the Alberta NDP. It went from ten to twenty.
LOL..good one..thanks for the laugh.
Nenshi was named Spendshi….our property taxes went up by over 17% thanks to him. He pretended for the longest time that Calgary was Canada’s San Francisco with his push for year round bike lanes. He waved the Olympic banner bid and spent millions of tax dollars to have it come to Calgary bat a time when many lay offs had rendered families money poor. It’s doubtful the NDP will take over unless there is some nefariousness with election interference.
Nefariousness = election of Gondek.
Normally the NDP wouldn’t get into power but the public service unions managed to have Gondek installed as mayor of Calgary, a disciple of Nenshi’s.
What’s working against the provincial NDP is Jagmeet Singh’s clownish leadership of the federal NDP and that’s tainted the NDP brand overall.
Nenshi is famously known to be a bully and he wasn’t shy about treating Calgarians like peasants .
I loved the shocked look on his face when he lost the plebiscite on his Olympic bid, rumours are that you didn’t want to be anywhere near his office the day after because of his rage, that the peasant dared to defy him.
How would anyone in Calgary vote for him after what he did to that city?????
He practically destroyed Calgary, so ya, they probably are stupid enough to vote him into a provincial position.
It should be about another 40 years before we make that mistake of a party our government again.
During Alberta's glory days, it was solidly Conservative. Socialism kills incentives to invest or work.
Why does Nenshi want to be premier? Alberta has an excellent premier.
Just look at the drug problem in Vancouver, if you want that in your city vote NDP.
Lol the last thing anyone naheeds is an NDP politician. Nenshi is a goof
It was horrendous for Alberta when Notley became the accidental Premier. We need to keep in mind that the NDP leader is actually Singh. The provincial party isn't separate from the federal if memory serves. Becoming a province run by a socialist party is frightening. The watermelon green politicians have made so much headway 😢
That’s correct, the provincial NDP are not separate in terms of policies from the federal leadership, even though the provincial parties are trying to claim otherwise. Jagmeet is doing a great job of sinking the NDP brand even at a provincial level.
He is truly unpopular with the masses here in Alberta.
He has the opportunity for a lot of ethnic electoral capture but beyond that I think he will mostly find support in the "Food magically appears in the whole foods I drive my EV to" crowd.
If he can't adequately manage a city, then how can he manage an entire province?
No way in hell he should be in governments any more. Alberta's need to not vote for him/NDP in.
The last time Nenshi won there was some jiggery pokery going on. Many people were unable to vote after standing in line for a long time because they ran out of voting forms. Even then he just squeezed in.
Then Nenshi’s protege Gondek comes in at the last minute and wins the last municipal election from out of nowhere when other candidates were well ahead of her.
I have lived in Calgary for over 40 years and Nenshi-Gondek are the worst thing that has ever happened to Calgary.
This goes to illustrate the disconnect between the country mouse and the town mouse. Neither understand the realities of the other. Now it's just fine if the two are in equilibrium i.e. you do your thing and I'll do mine, but when the town mouses influence overwhelms the country mouse then there's a problem. And frankly, in the grand scheme, the country mouse is ultimately more important than the city mouse to the city mouses survival.
I think country mouse would do a better job governing city mouse, just that city mice will not stop to plan for the future and they will punt anyone who does not tell them what they want to hear at any given time. City mouse governing country mouse is usually a bad time, because city mice seem to care nothing about what doesn’t directly affect them.
@@brentjohnson9210 bringing the analogy to reality, urban dwellers have a unique set of problems and vise versa. The problem is that because, in general, the urban dwellers do not understand that their supplies, and indeed, national wealth comes, for the most part, from the rural regions and beyond. Nor do they understand the workings of those areas. It's a blind ignorance, a selfish arrogance. If it were not for the abundance of natural resources this great land provides there could not be cities of +2M people. And yet these individuals believe in CC because of local urban heat island effects as only one prime example.
Nenshi was actually very unpopular in Calgary. He was voted World's Best Mayor but the organization that did that is a foreign progressive activist group that previously selected women every time for that title. It wasn't Calgarians saying that about him. The last time he took office was under a could of voting irregularities with large turnout and ballot shortages. People don't get out and vote in large numbers when they're content. The ballots were electronically counted and Nenshi was announced as the winner. He immediately had all the ballots destroyed 'to save storage costs'.This from a politician that never met a taxpayer dollar he couldn't spend. He got out after the UCP took office. The current Mayor is even more unpopular but the legacy media will never tell you that because she's a Trudeau acolyte.
I remember that last election, very fishy.
Remember, during the lockdowns Nenshi wanted to start a 311 phone line for Calgarians to snitch on other if there were too many people in one place.
He also was asking for the power to setup his own city run quarantine facility to put residents who refused the shots.
He couldn’t understand why Calgarians were outraged by his proposals… which would’ve been acceptable in the USSR.
BTW the current mayor is facing a recall campaign which is making her look very bad.
@@glenyoung1809I voted for the recall. Go to their website and find the location of the petition before the deadline.
@@glenyoung1809 The current Mayor looked very bad even before the electronic ballot counting began. She didn't need a recall campaign to make that happen.
@@tkorte101 Gondek was a bait and switch drop in replacement for Nenshi, she's also supremely stupid and can't seem to understand why so many people dislike her and her agenda.
Apparently she freaked out when the recall campaign started and tried to get it shut down by forbidding canvassing for signatures on city property and public areas.
That failed and her defenders made the mistake of attacking the recall campaign publicly which drew even more attention(Streisand effect).
The AB NDP got lucky in 2015 because of bad leadership and lack of accountability from the conservatives, that’s not the case anymore, Smith will gain even more points on them over the next few years.
Because Smith abandoned her party is why Notley became the accidental Premier. Don't gloss over the facts.
It had NOTHING to do with bad leadership and lack of accountability as stated Smith abandoned her party and because of that the conservative vote was badly split. Quit with the lies and revisionist history...
I've met Nenshi. Nice guy. But I vote conservative.
We met him too and he gave me a different opinion. He’s a narcissistic
bully who will befriend you only if you have something he needs from you.
Hopefully Albertans recognize he will be tied to the Feds and we see how well that’s working out…..not
No thanks we already have enough clowns in politics.
There's a nightmare waiting to happen. Do we not learn from the UK (London mayor, UK Prime Minister, Scottish First Minister)?
It would be a disaster if that ever happened.
People are sick of the purple clown....he'll never win Calgary hence, never the province.
NENSHI NDP = CARBON TAX, CARBON TAX, CARBON TAX, CARBON TAX
i could be wrong, but nenshi got elected by mostly various levels of govt employees. they went to mobilize their votes.
A good point, the civic unions are really good at getting the rank and file out to be he polls, add to that the enormous size of the civil service, and you have a major voting block.
Redmonton. I never knew it was called that, but then again, I've never lived in Alberta.
I live in Alberta and I haven’t heard it either.
@@88GraveI live in Calgary and I have heard it. It’s the capital and a government city so they all vote for big government and we know who that is.
The three largest employers in Redmonton: the provincial government, the municipal government and the University of Alberta. A huge voting block that will always voted for the NDP.
@@88Grave You Obviously have not lived here long or are very young...
It's a capital city and has the largest university thus a big-government mindset. And more industries are unionized there than in Calgary. NDP also gets support in central Calgary and the immigrant dominated north east. Little support elsewhere. But Edmonton and part of Calgary is all they need.
Nenshi may be a nice guy personally but the societally destructive flaws of NDP ideology are a well proven fact, with Bob Rae’s legacy in Ontario leaving no doubt. It’s historical fact but don’t expect the MSM to be recalling that disaster unlees it could somehow be spun against a Conservative Government or party. The irony is Trudeau’s taken Liberals so far left they’ve eliminated what little relevance the Federal NDP even had.
Named Spendshi for a reason, not to mention destroying The Muppets for Gen X.
The NDP is toast in Alberta no matter who runs or leads it.
Absolutely not...not ever....
Just another socialist 🤡 .
Given that Calgary voted for Gondek, I don't think the average person here learned their lesson from Nenshi.
The Urban/Rural divide is - in my view - founded on the fact that urbanites benefit from the provincial government, while rural voters are used to only ever seeing the government when it's time to pay taxes. In other words, one group are "givers" and the other "takers". This is why you get loads of people in Edmonton and Calgary who have the luxury of voting for politicians spouting "feel good" virtue signalling nonsense - they don't usually pay a direct personal price for these policies when they fail. Rural voters DO.
Hopefully he will be as good at destroying the NDP provincially as Jagmeet Singh has been federally.
Edmonton may like him cause they are more NDP, but not Calgary. He was a terrible mayor. He is like Trudeau.. spend spend spend….
NDP - we hate our neighbours. We want to take the proceeds of their labour and tell them what to do all day long.
He was the most contentious Mayor in interacting with Aldermen, ever. Dannille Smith rightly said he is all anger and ego. You'd never think it looking at his big smiling face.
Jagmet Singh NDP = TAX, TAX, TAX, TAX. Nenshi NDP = MORE TAX, MORE TAX, MORE TAX MORE TAX.
We finally got rid of the big purple dinosaur, he is just as dillusional as Jagwad
Someone please list his accomplishments as a 3 term Mayor in Calgary? I just recall exorbitant property taxes and emptying out Calgary’s downtown core. He’s a socialist. No thanks! He has to win the NDP leadership first as well.
Canadians do like their celebritirs, so I'm willing to bet we see him as Premier.
He needs a bigger payout.
Being king of the dippers is nothing to be proud of.
Team Jag, sure has trouble taking a hint! Go Danielle!
Look at all the Nenshi video's here on the Tube and you notice all the comments sections are turned off. That speaks volumes. They are afraid to let people speak their opinions. For Nenshi- it is his way or the highway.
He was mentioned having rec’d funds from china
Yup, and he started this WEF sister city bs.
Brutal Prediction:
Nenshi is leader of NDP
Thousands of BCers and Ontarians flee their failed states and move to AB.
They bring their politics with them and vote NDP. Nenshi becomes Premier. AB is undone.
Please don't vote NDP.
If the NDP win in Alberta, Nenshi will be taking his marching orders and guidance from Jagmeet Singh the Federal leader of the NDP as per the NDP Policy .................... Think before you vote folks .......
The problem Alberta has is all the inter-Canada migration from Liberal/NDP provinces, ironically enough for affordability, yet they still vote for the same parties and ideologies that caused them to leave their native areas.
It's an insidious cancer.
Lots of socialists moving here from other provinces to escape... Well socialism. Unfortunately it's likely the NDP will form government at some point.
No moving here for jobs and the fact is a conservative government.
Nenshi was a clown as Mayor that arrived due to vote splitting on the conservative side. His election would be the last straw for many businesses that have been holding on in the face of an anti-western war from Ottawa and the exodus will be profound.
Just when you think you got rid somelike like Nenshi, he resurfaces. He's a stubborn virus that just won't go away. I hope Alberta has more sense than enabling this guy to return to public life....
So here is how I see it. So many people from Ontario have moved to Alberta for the good life. Hopefully they leave behind their stupid socialist ideas and accept that Alberta is conservative, no free ride out here. Your expected to work, work hard, keep your money and enjoy the benefits of your work.
Nenshi's candidate announcement video was very slick and professional. Since he announced NDP membership has doubled. Possibly because of presales by his team. He will retain Edmonton, although some there are resentlful of political leaders from Calgary, and could take more of Calgary and that is enough to win. Sadly. His Achille's heel is that he was a one trick pony as mayor. He just hammered over and over about getting more money from other levels of government. As premier will he just cave in to every demand the likes of what he advocated? He also has no concept of what creates prosperity in Alberta.
Membership numbers are deceptive indicators in politics.
Most Calgarians remember how terrible a mayor he became in his last 5 years, even NDPers living here disliked him.
He was so closely associated with the Trudeau Liberals and the WEF that it tainted his image.
If there were a Liberal presence in Alberta he would have jumped on it by now.
I think Nenshi will be a poison pill for the NDP as he’s a bully and openly dictatorial and arrogant, people who worked at Calgary city hall during the later years nicknamed it ‘the Kremlin’ because of the political atmosphere there.
Nenshi isn’t a team player,he’s my way or the highway and I’m not sure how the NDP will function under that kind of leadership.
No NDP will not win. Ms. Smith is too strong for Nenshi to win Ms. Smith will walk over Nenshi in a debate, as she did to Ms Notley. You are giving Nenshi too much credit. Nenshi tried to force the Olympic bid onto a angry Calgary populace. That didn’t end well for Nenshi. We don’t forget……l
Membership sales are good indicators in nomination and leadership contests. And those are the fist steps. @@glenyoung1809
JAGMET IN BED WITH BLACKFACE = TAX, TAX ,TAX, TAX..... NENSHI NDP = MORE TAX, MORE TAX, MORE TAX , MORE TAX.
I lived in Calgary he raised taxes and was a bully
Nenshi always thinks he is the biggest brain in the room and can’t stand not getting his way. He won’t get my vote.
He needs another pension.
Danielle Smith is the correct choice
Maybe with all the carbon taxes and inflation, Nenshi's two taxpayer funded pensions are no longer enough to cover his food budget. Another government job will help him maintain his physique while he collects three taxpayer funded pensions.
With Nenshi that will spell the end of alberta
I think it is fair to say that rural does not waiver much off of conservative. Urban goes where it thinks it can get the best deal. Sort of an interesting dynamic. Being from rural, I think everyone realizes how a government who does not understand what happens here can really screw things up. Urban doesn’t seem to be worried about that. Can only explain it as living in the city makes you lose your grasp on the world around you and tends to make you focus on what is immediate. City people will hate that theory maybe but it’s best explanation I have come up with so far.
We need Danille Smith. NDP provincial is run by NDP Federal. Look at Notley.
Not if my vote counts.
Lol, you crack me up
When I was working with the city of Calgary when he was mayor, the city went through three highly respected city managers. You really have a poor leader when you force out three highly intelligent and respected civil servants. I meet with two of them and we’re very approachable and explained their vision of what Calgary needs to generate revenue without urban sprawl and using productive farmland for housing. More 3 bedroom condos/apartments near LRT station were recommended but Naheed wanted more sprawl and annexed farmland for this purpose. Will never vote for this trudope wannabe EVER!
Nenshi is definitely a tax and spend NDP!
He will be Premier in Alberta right after Singh becomes PM 😂
Even if Albertans don't like Smith, 4 yesrs of the NDP was enough - they will still vote Conservative just to keep the NDP out of power. Calgary was a mess when he left so why would Alberta want the same?
I think he'll become the new N.D.P. leader and has an excellent chance of winning a Provincial election. I never voted for him, but recognize he is an intelligent man, & is/was popular in Calgary as mayor. I don't think he is particularly ideologically aligned with much of the Provincial N.D.P. though. The last Provincial election was lost in Calgary. More seats here for the N.D.P. would = a possible victory. Nenshi would not have huge appeal in High Level or Red Deer, but in Edmonton and Calgary he'd give the U.C.P. a good run for their money.
I doubt it
I don’t think Nenshi will be able to do what the NDP needs in Calgary - take enough seats to win a majority. He was very unpopular in Calgary during his last term or so. If the NDP is smart they’ll go with someone else. But of course, they’re not so they’ll be stuck in opposition. Again. That’s a good place for them to be.
The ignorance of the far left extremist ndp cabal seems unlimited…
Problem with Edmonton is public sector unions (provincial, federal). Provincial public sector areas, Energy, Economy, Environment, Health, Education, Transportation, etc. Federal public sector consists of Military (Namao), Federal prison systems, federal environment sector. Yes Edmonton is loaded with public union employees. Then on top of this is City of Edmonton municipal which is entirely left wing nut cases with Ex Liberal federal cabinet minister Sohi as Mayor (whom is a taxi driver).
Unpopular fedral gov't YOU THINK
Rain tax in Toronto...need i say more.
Nenshi has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Tax Man! Not a good mayor.
It was the gay thing that blew it for me with twinkle toes. Does he paint his toe nails? Like what colour? Bet it changes in the light.
