my advice is just be thankful you are short. I'm 5'8 myself so I am a little bit shorter than the average. The good thing is that you don't need to eat as many calories. If someone is 5'6 like alpha destiny, his bodyweight may be maxed out at around 180lbs or so, while being fairly lean. For me its 205lbs or so. Take a guy who is 6'0 hes gonna need to be at least 230lbs or so. Just understand that they will need to eat way more calories and their grocery bill will be higher.
Only downside I see to being short-er (at 5'7") is if you gain just 5-10 lbs then you look way bigger than someone whose taller who gained the same weight. Maybe not a downside for some, but for those who don't like looking/feeling(more importantly) chubbier it is a downside.
AlphaDestiny yuhp you can get laid as a short man have done the deed with girls up too 6 feet tall I'm 5'6 I've also got friends that are 5'11 or taller that can't get laid to save their life. also have a friend 5'3 if his lucky and he gets more ass than a toilet seat and he is ugly too. my point is that the reason they ain't getting laid is not because they too short, too ugly, too fat or too tall, but because they lack confidence in themselves.
anon I stopped at 5'11 for like 8 months but then started growin again and I'm now 6 feet and prob still growin a bit lmao maybe there's hope for 185 for both of us (swede as well btw)
Monerasauce exactly, you have no control over height, limb length, bone structure, that's what body positivity needs to be focused on, not the unhealthy crap that you absolutely have control over such as body fat
Aknight292 so true. Body positivity should be about loving what you have, but also loving what you have achieved and can achieve and not about loving to be in an unhealthy body and not doing anything about it
@@AlexLeonidasI don’t any short guys that wish they were taller than again we Mexican we don’t give a fuck 😂I’m 5’7 and I’m perfectly fine but I do agree man I would hate to be 5’4
The stocky advantages is so true. I'm just under six foot and done my fair share of scrapping. Every short guy that was stocky had so much power. I got straight stomped by a dude who was no bigger than 5'5". I tried to wrestle the guy once i realized he had faster hands. It was like wrestling a tree stump. This was years ago but it was a lesson ill never forget
I’ve had the same experience and I’m 6’2. I’d rather fight a man around my height vs someone average height or shorter than average height. I wish I was average height. Look at Bruce lee. My dads 6’5 mesomorphic, I’m straight ecto, and he always wished he was shorter as well. Pros and cons to both.
@@WALTAH2000 when ur 6ft+ and jacked and know how to fight(boxing, jujitsu) and strong u are the final boss. When u are 5,8 and below and jacked it is not the dame
I'm 5'6, been battling with insecurities about it for years but in the recent times I have managed to accept it much better and I feel that I am special and people respect my body and strength
5'5" 140 lbs here. I used to be insecure about my height until I started lifting. The confidence you gain is just as valuable as the muscle. People respect me way more now, even more than some 6'+ guys.
How would you know people actually respected you more than 6' plus guys? Just sounds like a cringe cope. I doubt people respect in deep down, most people laugh at short guys internally, there's no respect there.
@@5thfloor584 My guess is the muscle. U rarely see muscle on a tall guy as much as u do a shorter guy. Especially in the nattyornot community it seems like many lanklets hate on manlets bc they're more muscular. Similar situation happened IRL when a skinny guy with 1/2 a foot on me was insecure about his lack of muscle compared to me. It's funny cus as a 6-footer u're supposed to be confident but those NoN guys are insecure asf. And u could get a great physique & arguably look even better than a shorter guy, so I ain't hating. It's just all that blackpill talk has done a major disservice to tall guys. It's truly pathetic...
exactly wat i am telling guys in other forums. i started steroids and gained 9kg ..every heads turned, doctors, strangers, all respect me and i find women smiling at me while talking all the time. every thing i see now i never had or expected. if u want to know more then ask. i am so happy but money is running out...😢. i gotta try to earn. i even have a 5yr oldson. fk😞
I am 5'3" and it has only been a gift, makes flipping a hell of a lot easier. Any gains I've gotten looks a lot better on a short frame. Cheaper to eat because I don't eat as much, cheaper to drink, pay less for supps because I need less. It's honestly been a blessing. Mt fiance is 5'8" and has no problem with my height because we are more than what we look like. The right people in your life will realize that.
I'm 5'0 and my wife is 5 inches taller than me. There was a time when I was really insecure about my height and every now and then I do feel insecure but I feel like lifting has helped so much with my self love. I've decided that If I'll be playing this game as a manlet I'm gonna do it as a well built one. Thank you so much for this video. You're awesome.
Speak for yourself, your experience isn't shared by all short men.... it's only difficult if you internalize societies ignorant fallacious ideologies and let it define you!
ive been observing u alex and ive been back and forth wondering if i should be subscribed to you or not but u absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one, great video man u just earned urself a true subscriber
5'5 checking in! Alex this video is amazing! I used to hate my height growing up but when I got into lifting weights I realized all the pros you mentioned here.. Also the fact that when you start lifting you'll "fill out" quicker and get more buff (proportion wise) in a shorter period of time. So any and every short guy out there that may be insecure and considering taking that first step to improve themselves should definetily not hesitate to get to the gym!

@@happymolecule8894 where are you living , india? Wtf man, im 5'7 and nearly every male around me is taller than me and even some girls are near my height in Turkey. So wherever you live in you guys are fucking short.
@@wildanS he's probably saying that since he is short(not sure if he is, or maybe rather saying if he were short) he'd rather be strong and short then be called a manlet that be short and weak and be called borderline weak.... If you can't grow talk, grow broader I guess..
im 5'9 but ive honestly embraced it. All the tall dudes i know they are tall sure, but just like u said they look skinny af while people tell me i look jacked even tho ive only worked out for 1.5 years. Being short / avg is okay guys, honestly.
I really got screwed because my dad's about 6'0 and I still ended up being short. But I've accepted it and like you said it's not something you can change. It's all attitude man. When I was 16 I was about 5'5, now I'm a bit under 5'8 so taller but still not tall. Back then I had one of my heroes who was a local wrestler mentoring me and he must have been 5'6 at most but probably more like 5'5. He taught me so much about having a presence despite being short and being able to have a 6'4 personality as some people call it. It definitely worked for him because he could be the most prominent and intimidating guy in a room despite having everyone else tower over him and he wasn't even massive as far as muscle went either. It's all attitude and body language. It's worked for me, I've made huge guys over 6'5 back down with just a look. Call it Napoleon complex but with the amount of time I've put into combat sports I honestly believe against any guy no matter how big or strong he is I can kick his ass if I need to and that's the level of confidence you need to have as a short guy.
5'9, good proportions, average height, Heavy, able to compete in most sports without height being an inhibiting factor, small penis, I get the best of both worlds
Great video, Alex. A body is the shell that holds the character of the man inside. Whatever height he is, he has to work with what he has, who he is and who he can become. When blended together, perfectionism and chronic comparison of oneself to others create a perfect cocktail for misery and discouragement. Advice (especially to the younger men here): Don't do what I did, 'kids.' Now, in my mid-50s, I finally have enough motivation to hit the gym on average five times per week, having wasted so much time worrying about my own comparative merits based upon comparing myself with others. Focus on your goals and consider the negative thoughts just 'thoughts'... They do not have to determine who you become.
Thank you Alex. I wish you continued great success with your channel and all your endeavors. And remember, "Illegitimi non carborundum" (Don't let the b**t***s grind you down).
So true man you deserve a key to the city for representing us short dudes. I'm 5'4 and I never really had a problem with my height until high school but like you said you have to just be happy with who you are no one is perfect life isn't over because you're short take and own that shit. Despite me being 5'4 I have a very nice skin complexion, and girls are always telling me that I'm handsome, I have nice long hair, plus my body is very toned plus the main thing that sets me apart from the rest is that I have an amazing voice like seriously so at the end of the day me being short isn't a huge factor for me. Ps a girl that I'm talking likes me a lot and she's like 5,11 she's tall as shit but that goes to show that being short really doesn't even matter he'll it could be worse I could be 4ft or even shorter 😅 when you think you have it bad just remember it could be worse.
I'm 5'7 and EVERY single tall person at my gym complements me of how do I look so big and weigh so little or that they wish they had my proportions or even my relative strength. I'm proud of my size. 174 lbs 12% body fat. lifts are; dead: 525, squat:415, bench: 305 regular, 315 on a good day. Just grind and reap the rewards brothers!
The Ghurka's are considered some of the toughest, most vicious and deadly fighting force in the world, Average height 5 foot 3 inches. Fucking absolutely love your content man! Can't believe I only came across your channel last week. Straight away I jumped off my bro split even though I built a pretty good physique from it however you changed my mind big time about staying lean naturally, so I started Naturally Enhanced right away, fucking upped my calories big time & have put on some serious size already, absolutely fucking loving it! Also I began to document my journey to building my biggest physique ever on my youtube channel with your programme! Btw shoutout to the short lifters 5ft 8 right here & fucking love it!
All the tall lanky guys always be bitching about how hard of a time they have putting on muscle and I’m over here 5’6 stocky build like damn bro I wish I was in your position wanna switch places?
To all you guys arguing wether or not being tall or short helps you get more girls, should just stop, it's futile. Many studies have shown that what will get you the most girls is having status/dominance. Yes, looks do matter to a certain extent, but most girls are willing to over look that if you are of high status and are a dominant male. In conclusion, develop your physical attractiveness to the extent your genetics will allow, but don't neglect the other slightly more important qualities (status/dominance), and you'll do just fine with the ladies. Also stop giving a fuck about qualities you can't change, like height. Not everyone can be tall and look like a sex symbol.
Bro, I see I'm late here, but just wanted to say this video was solid. I'm 5'6" and honestly never think about it until I have someone try to crack some lame joke. I have always lived by the motto to love who and what you are - whether it be race, gender, height, etc. Great work and keep it up. Subbed.
xxbublebee123 I'm 16 6'2" and I hope I will get to 6'5". kinda have a disadvantage because my mom is 5'2" and my dad is 5'7"....dont know how I got to 6'2" honestly :)
I actually think that the mindset of men being consciously insecure about height or physicality is a thoroughly modern phenomenon. I had a relative that was a young man in the 1950's and 60's,he was 5ft 5 ins tall weighed 215 healthy pounds and worked as lorry driver who used to like to bar room brawl as well take on the fun fair's booth boxer in whatever town he was at whist travelling in his job, just for shits & giggles. He ended up running off with a woman who was 25 years younger when he was around 50 years old. I don't suppose being shorter than average held him back in any 'manly' pursuits. Lol
@@LegendaryManSlayer93 females just hate us for existing. Men and women alike. We are like eldians from attack on titan. Because some french dictator abused his short powers. We all suffer. Kinda like how Ymir fritz used her titan powers and everyone hates eldians.
Content keeps getting better Alex. I've never had a problem with my height, it's society that has the problem. I've learned to embrace it especially for bodybuilding purposes
I'm about 5'3 and I'm 18, yeah complete manlet butttttttt I've started working out for about 8 months and I'm looking way better than most of my gym pals. They're all pretty jealous and it's the first time in my life where girls come up to me and not me to them. Huge confidence boost so now I'm pretty content and happy with my height, great video really boosted my confidence and hopes for the future.
I'm 5'4 and when I go to the gym I don't give a shit what other people think about me. I wear baggy unflattering clothes or even pajamas. It reminds me that I'm not here to impress people at the gym, so I leave it all at the door.
@@YRO. appreciate you brother! No matter the height anything is achievable could take longer for others but it is as long as the discipline ,dedication and commitment is there to reach the goal! One love champ
As someone extremely tall, I have to admit I'm mostly envious of short people. You have so much leg room! You live with the space of first class luxury wherever you go. Enjoy it.
You're a BEAST Alex! I like how you put these so called "problems" into perspective. I'm HAPPILY accepting of the fact that being 5'7.5" is advantageous in a lot of instances! I enjoy the physique that I have and look at shortcomings as goals to achieve for the future. Thank you for shedding light on this subject! 💪⚡⚡
Solid video brother, you're right about short lifters having bigger looking lats and that they have the stocky look. Every height has it's pro's and cons (gymnasts and bb's are usually short) while strongmen are usually on the taller side...etc
I'm 5 '3 women and the absolute most attractive men to me are under 5'10. I love love love short stocky men. Sad thing g is I don't see very many so I find it very difficult to be attracted to men. And I'm also cursed that it is allways tall guys that want to date me and I can't even go there.
I'm 6 foot even, but I was under 5 foot until I was 14. Even at my average height now, I still wear boots to appear taller. I guess insecurities stay with you.

I don't know if you meant "my average height" as in "I am 6 feet which is average in the U.S.", but there is no country in the world where the average height among men is 6 feet. In the U.S. it's 5'9". In the tallest country in the world (Netherlands) the self-measured average height is 5'11". But even then you have to take into consideration that self-measured height among men is exaggerated by approximately 1 inch according to multiple studies.

@@PanosPitsi Let's break this down rationally, statistically. You're from Greece. In 2003, when >55% of Greece's adult population was measured, it was found that the average Greek man was 177 cm / 5'9.5" tall. Then in 2020, a scientific study published in the medical journal The Lancet, estimated the average height of a 19-year old Greek boy to be 179.3 cm, compared to 178.8 in 1999. A 0.5 cm increase in 21 years, which is not even noticeable. (The study is called "NCD RisC's 2020 study of average height and weight worldwide" if you want to read it.) In another comment on this same video, you claim that most Greek men are a head taller than you. This is absurd because if we take your stated height of 5'10" or 178 cm, and then add another head on top of that, it would mean that the average Greek man is roughly 203 cm tall, which is about 23 cm taller than the current tallest measured population of adult men in any country worldwide. Also; I've been to Greece. I know this to be untrue. To be a head shorter than the average Greek man would mean that you're actually slightly over 5'1" or 155 cm. That leaves us with three alternatives: 1. You're not familiar with the imperial system, and so mistakenly gave your height as 5'10" (178 cm) when you're actually more like 5'1" (155 cm). An honest mistake. 2.You have an extreme case of body dysmorphia where you see yourself as smaller than you really are, to the point where you imagine those around you towering over you. Much like those with muscle dysmorphia who think they're smaller than others. 3.You straight up lied for some reason, but I don't know what the end goal of that would be.
You should make "insecurities of skinny guys" like myself, that are no longer skinny but still feel like twigs sometimes.. I was skinny all my life and was under 130lbs at 5.10 before i decided to do something about it, and now up to 175lbs, if i skip a workout/meal i feel like a twig again.
I had the same experience. In my early twenties, I was 5'9.5", ans 120lbs at my skinniest. Now I weigh about 160, but sometimes you look in the mirror and still feel skinny
Respect to you for telling it like it is. I'm a tall guy, it takes double the bricks to build a two storey house. I get sick of short guys with baby limbs going on about their arm size.
Easy for you to say, you're like 5'6. Imagine being 5'3. Also, growing up around people who are also short made it that much easier and better for you. If I was surrounded by other short people, I would feel more normal. I'm surrounded by average height people, many, many even above average. I love your channel. I guess I'm just defending my own self hatred and how hard it is to get over it when it's this bad. I'm also too small in other ways as well, such as wrists and hands (even smaller than you'd expect of a guy my height, partially due to anorexia during my puberty years, along with some other factors that I'd rather not get into). I don't tell myself that I am average height, I know damn well that I am short. Hell, I'm beyond short. Normal short wouldn't be that bad. That's better than midget short. I do pretend to be "normal short" through wearing height inserts in my shoes that make me 5'5-5'6. I hate them and I know they aren't the best for me (plus make it so that I can't go running, swimming, etc with people) but the way I feel around people without them is even worse. Most people have no idea that I'm a couple of inches shorter than they see me as.
Its kinda, hard to see everyone growing up taller who was at the same height as us when we were kids,i see them few years later then they say,you didnt change from then, you didnt grow from back then,im 5'5 i wanna be 5'6 and 19,my older brother is 5'7 he is shorter than me until im 17 he is 19 he gtew up 4 inches infront of me.,im 19 havent grown since 16
im short, and there are only 2 things i dont like of it:in general, a lot of girls will refuse you only because your height (even without knowing you) and the short people i think we have a disadvantage in physycal fights, because the reach and the weight (because even looking a similar way physically, or the tall being a bit skinier, he will probably overweight you).
kilektron bro I know this is what society wants you to believe but don't fall for it. there are girls out there who don't mind a shorter frame on a guy (I.e not every girl is the same) it's all about confidence. And in terms of fighting, us little guys can be absolute warriors and the reason why is beause we fight harder than any taller guy because we know we are at a disadvantage and so we give everything we got. I am a classic example. not tall at all 5'6 1/2 and I have the reputation of being a good fighter not only because I know how to fight but because I have faith in myself and in God so I am fearless in the eyes of any opponent tall or short. keep going bro. never stop fighting.
Reach is an advantage in a fight but it's only one factor. So long as the person isn't more than 4-5" taller than you it shouldn't be a problem unless they out class you in other areas. There are tons of other factors such as strength, weight, speed, stamina, reflexes, skill, experience, mindset, agility, flexibility even, coordination, bone density, aggression, explosiveness, injuries, energy, etc. I find most of the disadvantages of being short are social. Like taller dudes with ils will look down on you or people will feel less intimated by you and yes it deducts points in attraction for bitches.
As far as fighting goes, only in fights with rules does it matter. I usually make taller fighters uncomfortable because I fight so close in to their body. Joint locks, micro locks, throat attacks, eyes, groin, softer areas should be your targets.

Im been told a manlet by a woman looking dude in train going home. I said " sir its 8:30 am dont you think its too early to be having a midlife crisis" he smirk. I said " i cant keep this conversation long i have to be an RN somewhere else". Dude is like what you describe: lanky, lonely, and dressed so sharp nobody notice him.
Dude I'm 6'4 and you hit home when you said some of the tall guys would kill to have the same proportions. That's so true I wish every day I could just shave off even 2 inches, 5-6 inches would be ideal. Because of my height, it's about 90% more unlikely that I will never achieve the mens open bodybuilding Olympia, which I was gifted with the muscle insertions and genetics. Being "tall" is overrated anyways, the only plus/con really is women. Then even with that, all you need in the end of the day is one. And there are plenttyy of short girls lol. Other than women, physical stature in terms of bodybuilding. In that case, embrace the fuck out of being a manlet!!!
I'm 5'8 or 5'9 but I feel like most men I see are taller than me. That started to bother me once I began with strongman. Your video helped me a bit with that. Thanks Alex.
I have a problem with manlets when they have excessive egos and an inferiority complex. I know a couple who pretty much bullies those shorter than they are, just to make himself look all top shit and to look masculine and alpha, but he doesn’t say a word for anyone taller than he is.
This is a good video. As a guy that's 6'2" I've noticed that many short guys are overly concerned about being alpha males, and try everything in their power to justify why a tall guy is a beta male.
hey alex your by far my favorirte fitness youtuber. i would love for you to bring back the lifestyle tips videos etc and the "how to get a certain physique" series!
Yo alex, i have a question, do you think it's normal for a teenage boy to have this: when in normal condition, my nipples look a little bit puffy and when they get hard, they look normal, as they should. Why is that? Is it that I have to lose a little bit of body fat or is it just hormones? I'm 16, 185cm 74 kg
I'm 5'7 150 , 17 and relatively lean and I have that too. I've had it for as long as I can remember. I think it's just something that happens no one really cares
Nameless Look gynecomastia on google bro ! I have a bad english so i cant explain good but check on google. i have a gynecomastia too, but im 19 yo so maybe i have it for life, but if ur only 16, it can be the hormones and just for a while before the end of ur puberty :)
We all want what we can't have. I used to want a beard like Ricki Hall, but my beard pattern is the same as Alex, except his moustache connects to his chin, mine doesn't. I'd prefer to be over 6'2" and be massive lean, but instead I'm 5'9". Now I love my beard because along with my skin tone, it hints at my Italian background. I love my height now because it's so much easier to fill out my muscles.
Short guys don’t have shorter ROM on the deadlift. Tall people with proportional arms, have the same ROM as short people. I’m pretty sure Eddie Hall is the one who pointed this out. Tall people have more muscle over the same ROM.
Thanks alpha for this video, I completely agree with it all. I am 5'4 around 130 pounds but I have been told I look so much bigger. I have good genetics for shoulders and with only 6 months of training, I have 3d delts and it makes me look so much more jacked than I actually am.
Great video My son is 5'7 I'm 6 feet. His Mom is 5'1 He got alot of her genetics My youngest son will be taller than him. Around My height. I constantly remind him His height is the least of his worries .. I train him and remind him that He will be great despite of his height and that Many great lifters are short .. He feels better knowing that.
@AnonymousBo0 what the fuck are you talking about? Clearly reading comprehension isn't your forte. I never insinuated anything about trying to be intimidating because of height .... I don't need to be tall to be intimidating you dumb fuck.. If you're looking for someone to get down with.. bring it keyboard Warrior.
the only insecurity is when i get stupid ass comments about how my numbers aren't comparable with someone who's like 70% heavier than me, and then i waste time replying to them
Frank stop making the metabolism excuse. You're so small you don't burn much calories, at most being average height and weight a fast metabolism would only make you burn a few hundred calories more than normal and that's if you're a genetic freak. The problem is you think you eat a lot but you don't. I was anorexic thinking I was eating a ton. Just eat more and you'll gain weight. 3500 calories is One lb of fat no matter what; even if you say something stupid like you burn 3500 a day then eat 4000 a day and you'll gain 1lb a week.
Bradley Brannings yep I know. Just I've seen other guys like 120lbs claiming they eat over 3000 calories a day and aren't gaining weight which is just simply bullshit. Said that incase he was going to claim that to prove even if he did burn that many he could still gain weight by eating more.
True, people overestimate. When they start weighing out how much they're eating with a food scale then they'll realize how much they were overestimating.
I love the idea of being short(er) but being a fucking beast. It's like having a Mike Tyson mentality even tough he wasn't short in general terms but as heavyweight he was.
I’m 5’11 and never was insecure about my height, but after 3 years of weightlifting when body dysmorphia kicked in I got miserable and got my day ruined every time I get height mogged
I'm 5'4" and I actually like being shorter. I just own it and I have a sense of humor about it. Being around short guys who lie about their height is ridiculous and I feel embarrassed for them. But looks? I thank God I'm good looking. It's looks that are underestimated. You can be has tall has you want but if you've got a unattractive face and weird voice...sorry buddy but you're screwed. I've also never had a problem getting girls.
Im 5’8 without shoes (I know y’all add an inch or two cuz your shoes) I’m a tall short person, I say this because I tower over really short people 5’-5’5, but Im dwarfed by tall people. But I’ve noticed when Im confident in myself the ego illusion of height disappears and even dudes 6’3 or taller don’t intimidate me at all. It also helps being 250lbs and very strong. I never really understood elevator shoes. I mean sure when you go out they'll give you height. but wouldn't it just be weird if you take them off and then everyone around you is just six inches taller suddenly.

I love you Alex, you're a big talk in our bodybuilding community (Norway)
Alex could you do mioe videos like these, such as self- improvement videos beyond just weightlifting?
my advice is just be thankful you are short.
Fuck insecurities. Be proud that you're taking the time to better yourself.

I like your LEGIT body positivity messages. shit you CAN'T change like height, limb lengths, etc. that's what body positivity should be focused on
Glad you see things the same way brother
Monerasauce exactly, you have no control over height, limb length, bone structure, that's what body positivity needs to be focused on, not the unhealthy crap that you absolutely have control over such as body fat
Aknight292 so true. Body positivity should be about loving what you have, but also loving what you have achieved and can achieve and not about loving to be in an unhealthy body and not doing anything about it
AlphaDestiny I love this shit thanks bro

The stocky advantages is so true. I'm just under six foot and done my fair share of scrapping. Every short guy that was stocky had so much power. I got straight stomped by a dude who was no bigger than 5'5". I tried to wrestle the guy once i realized he had faster hands. It was like wrestling a tree stump. Totally agree

Excellent commentary
Thank you Alex. I wish you continued great success with your channel and all your endeavors.

Well put.

Lol
Most likely, I especially think the internet has contributed greatly to this height insecurity.
Very true,no one could argue that.

I don't know if you meant "my average height" as in "I am 6 feet which is average in the U.S.", but there is no country in the world where the average height among men is 6 feet. In the U.S. it's 5'9". In the tallest country in the world (Netherlands) the self-measured average height is 5'11".
(The study is called "NCD RisC's 2020 study of average height and weight worldwide" if you want to read it.)
In another comment on this same video, you claim that most Greek men are a head taller than you.
That leaves us with three alternatives:
Thanks for the support love

Its kinda, hard to see everyone growing up taller who was at the same height as us when we were kids,i see them few years later then they say,you didnt change from then, you didnt grow from back then,im 5'5 i wanna be 5'6 and 19,my older brother is 5'7 he is shorter than me until im 17 he is 19 he gtew up 4 inches infront of me.,im 19 havent grown since 16

im 5'2"
you are just not confident
He’s actually around 5’8” almost 5’9” but that’s still on the short side of society
im short, and there are only 2 things i dont like of it:in general, a lot of girls will refuse you only because your height (even without knowing you) and the short people i think we have a disadvantage in physycal fights, because the reach and the weight (because even looking a similar way physically, or the tall being a bit skinier, he will probably overweight you).
kilektron bro I know this is what society wants you to believe but don't fall for it. there are girls out there who don't mind a shorter frame on a guy (I.e not every girl is the same) it's all about confidence.
Find better girls my friend.
Joint locks, micro locks, throat attacks, eyes, groin, softer areas should be your targets.
kilektron
Yeah, because life is all about fighting to prove you're a badass tough guy....😐
And lol @ all the tough guys in this thread.
You have such a good attitude! Working with what you have is the only thing anyone can do :)
I love being 5,8"... I feel like I can get bulky quicker than a taller person plus I think I would look better than a taller bulky person.
You're not short you're average
And mfs complain about being 5'8 because whamen
@@texasbeaver8188 it depends where you live. Here I. Greece I’m 5ft10 and every guy is a head taller than me
@@texasbeaver8188 I am like an inch taller than my girlfriend
@@PanosPitsi Let's break this down rationally, statistically.
You're from Greece. In 2003, when >55% of Greece's adult population was measured, it was found that the average Greek man was 177 cm / 5'9.5" tall.
Then in 2020, a scientific study published in the medical journal The Lancet, estimated the average height of a 19-year old Greek boy to be 179.3 cm, compared to 178.8 in 1999. A 0.5 cm increase in 21 years, which is not even noticeable. (The study is called "NCD RisC's 2020 study of average height and weight worldwide" if you want to read it.)
You claim that most Greek men are a head taller than you.
That leaves us with three alternatives:
I have no idea why you get so much hate for your vids. You keep things so real.
I'm 5'5 180
When I'm around taller ppl I feel more powerful and dominant ,kinda like a Joe Pesci character.
Jordan hahaha nice that’s awesome I’ve felt like that
Im been told a manlet by a woman looking dude in train going home.
You forgot overall society respect, earning prospects, life quality and so on. So nah, don't wish to be short, ever.
@TheBeofox but by today's standards, even 5'9" to 5'11" is considered "short" by many people
That's lowkey bragging
@@Eltipoquevisteayer No it's. Average height. 5'11 is lil above average
Eltipoquevisteayer don’t forget dating prospects
I'm 5'8 or 5'9 but I feel like most men I see are taller than me. That started to bother me once I began with strongman. Your video helped me a bit with that. Thanks Alex.
I have a problem with manlets when they have excessive egos and an inferiority complex. I know a couple who pretty much bullies those shorter than they are, just to make himself look all top shit and to look masculine and alpha, but he doesn’t say a word for anyone taller than he is.
Facts
This is a good video. As a guy that's 6'2" I've noticed that many short guys are overly concerned about being alpha males, and try everything in their power to justify why a tall guy is a beta male.
hey alex your by far my favorirte fitness youtuber. i would love for you to bring back the lifestyle tips videos etc and the "how to get a certain physique" series!
You dropped this 🤴👑
5'10 (178cm) crew checking in, best of both worlds :)
im 5'10 (legit I measured it) and still feel short. I get the train every day and get fucking toward over most of the time.
epictoads I'm 5'9", I feel like I'm bigger then most everyone else though, my confidence is over 9000.
Baris BANDDESTINY same here
Jack ,at that time 5'5 was considered average height.
179cm checking in
I love your page bro I'm skinny fat and all your videos are great!
Yeah but under a shirt if your nipples arent hard it doesnt look very appealing :D they stick out a bit and it bothers me lol
i've searched for it, but it definetly is not gyno.. or if it is something related to it, it is in very minimal stage
You are good weight wise, may want to actually get more weight.
5'3 guy here. Fucking motivated to not give about shit I can't control. This is all great info. Thanks Alex!
I’m 5’5” and I like my height. And, short lifters tend to be more muscular than taller lifters. So there.
@Tony Po ; So.... what’s your point?
@Tony Po damn you titans can't even elaborate.
There's a guy at my gym who's around 5,6 and weighs 65kg. He can squat 200kg. Thats more than three times his bodyweight.
“Obliterate society’s expectations”
That for me is a brilliant quote👌
Short guys don’t have shorter ROM on the deadlift. Tall people with proportional arms, have the same ROM as short people. I’m pretty sure Eddie Hall is the one who pointed this out. Tall people have more muscle over the same ROM.
I'm 6'2 and never thought about others' height. Who cares... Move on and do your shit!
Im 5'7.7 172cm am i short??
Im late, but this is a great video and I feel I'm accepting my short height more now. Thanks Alex
Thanks alpha for this video, I completely agree with it all. I am 5'4 around 130 pounds but I have been told I look so much bigger. I have good genetics for shoulders and with only 6 months of training, I have 3d delts and it makes me look so much more jacked than I actually am.
Love the video mate.
Are you talking about tyler1 hehexd?
This video has nothing to do with him, I don't even watch his channel so I don't know what applies to him.
ty for the response. keep up the good work.
then alex is 6.5 too hehe
hehe ecks dee
Leanice44 CX homie
Great video My son is 5'7 I'm 6 feet. His Mom is 5'1 He got alot of her genetics My youngest son will be taller than him. Around My height. I constantly remind him His height is the least of his worries .. I train him and remind him that He will be great despite of his height and that Many great lifters are short .. He feels better knowing that.
Bruh, you're only 5in taller than him. You're not intimateding or impressing anyone by being 5in taller than them.
LMFAO when he does those impersonations of people complaining about their height or leverages 😂😂😂
You're getting famous, Alex. Saw a fake account the other day
5’7” tree trunk legs w/ no leg training checking in
Im 172cn 5'7.7 am i short ?? We?
the only insecurity is when i get stupid ass comments about how my numbers aren't comparable with someone who's like 70% heavier than me, and then i waste time replying to them
I'm 5,4 and have trouble gaining weight only 105 pounds. Any tips on gaining more weight with my high metabolism ?
Frank stop making the metabolism excuse. You're so small you don't burn much calories, at most being average height and weight a fast metabolism would only make you burn a few hundred calories more than normal and that's if you're a genetic freak.
The problem is you think you eat a lot but you don't. I was anorexic thinking I was eating a ton. Just eat more and you'll gain weight. 3500 calories is One lb of fat no matter what; even if you say something stupid like you burn 3500 a day then eat 4000 a day and you'll gain 1lb a week.
Yeah but I don't think he needs to be consuming 3000 calories if he's a small guy. He probably only needs 2100 calories to be in a caloric surplus.
Bradley Brannings yep I know. Just I've seen other guys like 120lbs claiming they eat over 3000 calories a day and aren't gaining weight which is just simply bullshit.
Said that incase he was going to claim that to prove even if he did burn that many he could still gain weight by eating more.
Watch Alex's video on why you don't have a fast metabolism.
Caught you wearing 3” height-boosting shoes in pictures tho…so how do you truly feel about this topic?
Caring this much about what another man does is crazy
#5foot4masterrace
my case😂
Im 5’8 without shoes (I know y’all add an inch or two cuz your shoes) I’m a tall short person, I say this because I tower over really short people 5’-5’5, but Im dwarfed by tall people. But I’ve noticed when Im confident in myself the ego illusion of height disappears and even dudes 6’3 or taller don’t intimidate me at all. It also helps being 250lbs and very strong.
He’s right about looking buff af, but it’s also easy to look too stocky and as a guy who puts on mass easy, it means constantly avoiding junk food.
Pros and cons to everything, mine as well enjoy life and embrace the flaws.
I never really understood elevator shoes. I mean sure when you go out they'll give you height. but wouldn't it just be weird if you take them off and then everyone around you is just six inches taller suddenly.
Lmao yeah it's the same with chicks who stuff their bras
I think the 2-3 inch shoes are fine, but when you start doing 6 inches that's a bit over the top
Ask blaha he wears elevator boots.
😂😂😂 exactly. so i wear just 1-2 inch extra on top of 1 inch shoe😂.
its so embarrasing😂.
but now its cool.
