_Two German band mates. Sometime in early 1984_ Erich: Hey, Hans? You remembered to write our band's name on the tape when you sent it to the radio station, right? Hans: Uhhh... Yes! Absolutely! Of course I did! _Sweats nervously_
_Meanwhile in an alternative universe_ Hrich: Hey, Snah? You remembered to write our band’s name on the tape when you sent it to the radio station, right? Snah: Of course! _And so, Like the Wind becomes one of the greatest hits ever_
*Meanwhile, in the same alternate universe* Random guy: “Hey, Rick? I think you forgot to write your name on your name on the tape you sent to the radio station.” Rick: “Damn… Well, I’m sure SOMEONE who’s heard my music will recognize me!” *And so, Never Gonna Give You Up ended up falling into obscurity and everyone online would be looking for it. Windturning also became a viral phenomenon where people would troll others with links to Like The Wind.*
The chainsaw bit? This mix seems to try to buff it out like it's a mistake. Other remasters emphasise it more. As I imagine it, the band had an actual buzz-saw or angle-grinder and were throwing actual sparks out of their garage and into an alley as they rocked out their Hamburg suburb. It's what I'd have done, except I'm not that talented.
I think the lyrics would make more sense if it's "Take the consequence for living" .... "Take it in, take it out (the consequence for living), but the sun will never shine." Like something happened, that you can't make undone.
Can you remaster Fond My Mind song? It is also cool and not found, but original is worse quality than mysterious song. Maybe you can restore so it will be very good song.
Don't you know 'Like the Wind' and 'Fond my mind' were both produced with the help of MAK Mouratoglou. That's Tolis Fasois singing in 'fond (from) my mind" and he and MAK worked together in Sharp Ties in '89 before. And MAK worked with Alvin Dean and The Reporters in '84 to make the remix of the Statues in Motion song "Like the Wind (There's No Place)". MAK has to have some relatives living in South America who help spin these mysterious Songs on the internet!
@hcs.channel Chrysostomos Mouratoglou AKA 'MAK' or Makis Mouratoglou, Keyboardist for the Greek Synth 80's Bands The Reporters and later, Sharp Ties in '89. He has worked with the lead singer of Sharp Ties, Tolis Fasois, numerous times ever since, even very recently! Fond My Mind sounds like it's sung by Tolis TBH. I have a picture of MAK and what he looks like currently and he is now my avatar picture to the left. lol take a look if you can! The Person I think whom is the drummer in "Like The Wind (There's No Place/Checking in, Checking out)," George Roumanis can be found on Facebook, too. I think personally that everything is connected in some way.
We found it :) (It may sound a little different but lyrics are actually the same!, plus i didnt even know that it was found lol) Song is: FEX- Subways Of Your Mind
If this song had been released by a mainstream band around 1984, it would likely have been a big hit. In a way, by a complete fluke it has been a big hit as it has had millions of listens, only not in a way anyone would have predicted.
This was excellent work! Hey I had only one question: Did you at any time hear or feel like there was some guitar distortion in the singers mic. Like perhaps they were playing on stage live and some feedback was coming in through the singer's mic from the guitar. I heard it in some other reconstituted song video, but I wanted to know if you heard anything at all like that. If this song was played live on the radio and recorded onto tape it could explain a lot of the odd distortions I feel. and might help to identify when it was payed too greatly. hank you.
track splitting isn't perfect, and a lot of vocal recordings have the rest of the song bleeding through the singer's headphones as they listen back to it while recording to keep in sync and stuff
I think the remaster sounds amazing and is IMO the best remaster I've heard, however I think that in the choruses and outro there is one thing that sounds wrong which is part of the drums. I think there should be acoustic ride cymbals (like in the intro) instead of electronic hi-hats. I'm sure that this is how the original song was played because I can hear it clearly in an isolated drum track. That's all the feedback I have. Other than that, it's a great remaster.
This might sound crazy but I remember this song but not the name, it played on a Newfoundland radio “OZ-FM” if I recall correctly. From 2017-2021 start searching
I’m sure some people have read this and they are already on search of answers, but yeah Newfoundland seems a bit far from the area of the first source…
@@lifeofLumiVolkov When I showed the song to my brother, he said "How is this song lost?" and since whenever we were in the car going somewhere, we would either listen to the radio, or what was on my mom's playlist. and since my mom never had the song on her phone, this leaves me with no doubt that I heard it on the radio
I can prove it okay I don’t want people hating on me anymore I’m not delusional I’m scared of others form attacking me for saying I heard a song I heard this song and made a survey and yeah some heard the song I’ll provoe it with my grammar how bout of I make a sheet of Accounts of people And they have to write what they remember about the song And if they do know it I can join back in the reddit or discord. Looks like FEX no longer has a copy of this version of the track, a real shame :[ In that case, I think you hold the standing of best quality of the radio version then!
I personally believe Like The Wind is by Alvin Dean/ what would've been a new band (given the live drums). Although the originally thought DJ wasn't the one who played it, saying he played form Vynal I presume most others did too. For the song to be pressed onto vynal, the creator would've paid out of pocket. Alvin would've had his royalties from the Statues In Motion album and could've used a cut. Especially since he went radio silent after SIM split and if he wrote the song it could well have been reused with a DX7 this time. Since his solo career didn't go anywhere it went unreleased again
I don't know if it's just me, but that's a young David Gahan singing. Has anybody asked Depeche Mode about this? That is even an early Yamaha synthesizer being used. I have a feeling this is one of their first experimental or probably demo singles, that they abandoned for some reason.
I wonder if anyone has gotten a copyright strike with this song to find out the artist, i wonder if thats possible when more of the song is revealed i dunno, it be cool to be detected

Its possibly "leaving" rather than ^living^ (though I'm unsure on this)

"Checking in, check it out"
and instead of
"They're a long way away
In the subways of your mind"
im pretty sure its
"Paranoid, anyway
Theres something on your mind"
@@CRT_YTnope, it’s definitely “subways of your mind”
@@xdwaved that makes less sense when you compare it to the other lyrics
the line before it is "Paranoid, anyway", "Paranoid, anyway
In the subways of your mind" makes much less sense than what i think it is
also i checked on other remasters of the song, and many other variations (you can check for yourself), and yeah it is definitely 100% "Somethings on your mind" or "There's something on your mind"
sooo how about you check on other remasters and the original audio. believe me it is without a doubt "There's something on your mind"
it could also be "There's some things on your mind"
my interpretation.
Like The Wind
Like the wind,
You came here running,
Take this consequence of living
There's no space,
There's no tomorrow,
There's no sad communications
Take it in, take it out,
Or the sun will never shine
Paranoid in a way,
In subways of your mind
Like the wind,
You're going somewhere,
Let a smile be your companion
There's no place
And there's no sorrow
In the young and restless dreaming
(Chorus)
(Outro)
Take it in, take it out
It's the summer blues
Take it in, take it out
It's the free-living youth
I sometimes hear "Anyway, it's some weight off your mind"
By far the best remaster I've come across.
Now that a higher quality copy of the original, maybe you should make a new remaster based off of it! That's just an idea of course, only do if ya want.
Felicitaciones. Excelente trabajo. Un pieza única recuperada para la humanidad.

_Two German band mates. Sometime in early 1984_
Erich: Hey, Hans? You remembered to write our band's name on the tape when you sent it to the radio station, right?
Hans: Uhhh... Yes! Absolutely! Of course I did! _Sweats nervously_
_Meanwhile in an alternative universe_
Hrich: Hey, Snah? You remembered to write our band’s name on the tape when you sent it to the radio station, right?
Snah: Of course!
_And so, Like the Wind becomes one of the greatest hits ever_
*Meanwhile, in the same alternate universe*
Random guy: “Hey, Rick? I think you forgot to write your name on your name on the tape you sent to the radio station.”
Rick: “Damn… Well, I’m sure SOMEONE who’s heard my music will recognize me!”
*And so, Never Gonna Give You Up ended up falling into obscurity and everyone online would be looking for it. Windturning also became a viral phenomenon where people would troll others with links to Like The Wind.*
Funny enough there is a Hans in the band
LOL and one of the band members actually _is_ named Hans. 😂
2:13 my favorite part of the song
The chainsaw bit?
This mix seems to try to buff it out like it's a mistake.
Other remasters emphasise it more.
As I imagine it, the band had an actual buzz-saw or angle-grinder and were throwing actual sparks out of their garage and into an alley as they rocked out their Hamburg suburb.
It's what I'd have done, except I'm not that talented.
@@jamesperkins191 I don't hear the chainsaw sound you're talking about. Please explain.
I think the lyrics would make more sense if it's "Take the consequence for living" .... "Take it in, take it out (the consequence for living), but the sun will never shine." Like something happened, that you can't make undone.
I am not sure but sometimes somehow I can hear "change" the consequence of living
Consequence of LEAVING?
Now this is an actual remaster! Congratulations
hands down the best fucking remaster of this to date
Probably the song is by Wild Angels which was active from 1982 to 1984 in Yugoslavia
The beginning absolutely slaps
@@johngarcia1340 Who is MAK

Hey don’t we clone the song in some sort of ai?
We can use multiple similar voices, then use the similar voices (to tmv) to teach the ai.

Damn this mix perfect wtf
If this song had been released by a mainstream band around 1984, it would likely have been a big hit. In a way, by a complete fluke it has been a big hit as it has had millions of listens, only not in a way anyone would have predicted.
Better than the other one...
by far best remaster of the song
Звучит шикарно! Спасибо большое!
И качественно
bro has the master tapes of this song
This was excellent work! Hey I had only one question: Did you at any time hear or feel like there was some guitar distortion in the singers mic. Like perhaps they were playing on stage live and some feedback was coming in through the singer's mic from the guitar. I heard it in some other reconstituted song video, but I wanted to know if you heard anything at all like that. If this song was played live on the radio and recorded onto tape it could explain a lot of the odd distortions I feel. and might help to identify when it was payed too greatly. hank you.
track splitting isn't perfect, and a lot of vocal recordings have the rest of the song bleeding through the singer's headphones as they listen back to it while recording to keep in sync and stuff
omg I hope someday you do a remastered version of Fond my mind, this is amazing I can't believe how goooood this sounds!!
It's already found: Station K - "Feels Like a Wish"
that comment is TWO YEARS OLD@@DmitriLeon2000
I think the remaster sounds amazing and is IMO the best remaster I've heard, however I think that in the choruses and outro there is one thing that sounds wrong which is part of the drums. I think there should be acoustic ride cymbals (like in the intro) instead of electronic hi-hats. I'm sure that this is how the original song was played because I can hear it clearly in an isolated drum track. That's all the feedback I have. Other than that, it's a great remaster.
This is an amazing remaster!
Thanks for your work !
amazing!
That question mark It makes the song very charming❤️🫡
This might sound crazy but I remember this song but not the name, it played on a Newfoundland radio “OZ-FM” if I recall correctly. From 2017-2021 start searching
could you provide more data
I’m sure some people have read this and they are already on search of answers, but yeah Newfoundland seems a bit far from the area of the first source…

In that case, I think you hold the standing of best quality of the radio version then!
How did they lose this version
The work on the music was really good
I personally believe Like The Wind is by Alvin Dean/ what would've been a new band (given the live drums). Since his solo career didn't go anywhere it went unreleased again
i am convinced you made the song you cannot convince me other wise. that instrumental is wayyyy too clean
I don't know why, but the beginning of it sounds like a part in Cutting Crew - Died In Your Arms
I don't know if it's just me, but that's a young David Gahan singing. Has anybody asked Depeche Mode about this? That is even an early Yamaha synthesizer being used. I have a feeling this is one of their first experimental or probably demo singles, that they abandoned for some reason.
I though that too!
This sounds so much like Depeche Mode to me as well!
0:00 is this like the wind
Wow so clean.
The best moment: 1:44
The singer almost reminds me of Dave Vanian from the Damned. "In Dulce Decorum" .
It's not "Like the wind, you're gonna suffer." He says "Like the wind, you're going somewhere."
I cant hear it tbh
Wind doesn't suffer, to start, lol
Like the wind, you're going southward
Finally found
*Desperately and thoroughly attempting to make a good animated lyrics video using this remastered cover.*
I wonder if anyone has gotten a copyright strike with this song to find out the artist, i wonder if thats possible when more of the song is revealed i dunno, it be cool to be detected
If they were 21 in 1984 then they're 60 now... time is running out if it isn't already too late
I once got a strike for copyright infringement, but I managed to dispute it quickly. Otherwise, I'd recognize the name of the actual performer 😀
Do you believe in the theory that Warner is owner of copyrights? If yes can have chance of the label claim this song?
The band Hanover Fist maybe? Sounds like the frontman’s voice. Maybe one of their first songs…

Lyrics:
Like the wind, you came here runnin'
Take the consequence of living
There's no space, there's no tomorrow
There's no sense for munication
Checkin' in, checkin' out, but the sun won't ever shine.

These aren't bad, but I do think in the outro line, the "Checkin' In, Checkin' out" is not repeated after "sound of blues" and something else is being said, such as "Tearin' in, tearin' out" or "turning in, turning out"
