SQUIRES GATE FC 4-3 AFC FYLDE | PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
After filming Trafford FC a couple of weeks ago this was a chance to take in a local non league match. Blackpool team Squires Gate FC had only recently been on the BBC playing in an FA Cup tie against Maine Road where they had come out worthy 5-0 winners.
Literally only 5 minutes drive for us and playing a friendly against another local side AFC Fylde it was a no brainer when we were welcomed to go and make another documentary film for them.
What a cracking match with Squires Gate very good value for their 4-3 win over a team 3 or 4 steps up the ladder. What a game to catch we also met some interesting characters the lady behind non-league dogs and an ex national press photographer now in his 80's who showed me some remarkable photos he had taken including the most iconic picture of Paul Gascoigne ever taken.
