Mehak Fatima Mehak Fatima hello dear!! I have not heard of orange benefits for skin, either eaten or applied. Vitamin c is however very helpful. Instead of eating orange juice try eating the entire orange as it has more fiber. Also for skincare, try looking for a vitamin c product that is in a bark bottle

A BIG THANK YOU Cassandra for educating me on how skin is working and trying to find my way to clear my skin . And for helping me to feel better about myself when I feel down and ugly .... which is how I feel right now ... I’m trying to get passed it most of the time but it breaks down my confidence sometimes and I hate that ! Please keep up because you’re a great inspiration 😘
My skincare routine is so full of products!! I have glycolic acid, retin a, Curology for when I break out, masks, toners, essences! I really need to declutter it but I love skincare!! I love you Cassie 😀
If you have very very dry skin petroleum can lock your skin from losing hydration but it can clog your pores too. make sure the product’s that you use are cruelty free 😉
They are not bad. The issue is that they are very cheap ingredients that companies often use as fillers. If you see mineral oil in an expensive moisturizer, it's often a rip-off. It can also clog pores for some people with oily skin.
This video is really really good. I just kinda got into this whole skin care science and I was always soooo confused but now I see it clear and understand! Thank you!!
I love love love your channel! Thank you for being so thorough and going above and beyond with even creating skincare recommendations for each step. You’re definitely a skincare guru! ❤️
I’ve been watching you for many years now and I’ve always enjoyed your honest videos. I still continue to have acne and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge because I have been learning alongside you. Thanks :)
A question. Are there skincare ingredients we should not mix. I’ve heard so many things about vitamin c and niacinamide not going well together and I’ve made the mistake of applying both. It burns. Redness. Ouch. But other things like AHA BHA with vitamin c. Or retinol and acids? Or antioxidants and acids? I’ve seen so much controversy over what is safe and what is not. Or which chemicals cancel each other out. I’m not too advanced in chemistry to figure this out on my own 🤯 but I’m interested...thank you!
Brett Karsten this is a year late, but here goes. You can use niacinamide with vitamin c. If you have sensitive skin, then you may have an adverse reaction. In this case, you can alternate the use of vitamin c and niacinamide. Also be sure you’re not using any other actives with the vitamin c. Aha and bha should not be used with retinol. Or combined with vitamin c.
Ty sfm! U totally cleared all the thoughts in my brain by talking about minerals oils and petroleum 😍😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️❗️❗️❗️ I’m gonna stop using my face creams today!
Mineral oil is fine for most people, specially if it's an ingredient on a product and not stand alone. It's just some particular people that react to it and its easy to find out since you can buy pure mineral oil or vaseline at any drugstore. Haven't read anything pointing otherwise, and I use a lotion with it every single night which doesnt cause me breakouts (vanicream light lotion).
I use Dr. Bronner's as a cleanser, based on your older videos. Since Dr. Bronner's contains coconut oil, olive oil, and more, would you recommend cleansing with something else afterwards? Thanks!!
Love this channel ❤️. My skin is usually dry when I wash it. But after I apply my moisturizer, sometime later the pores seem perforated and kinda big. The skin starts looking dull. If you could share any tips, it would be of great help. Thank you.
What's your skin type? If you use moisturizer that doesn't match your skin type, it won't do anything good basically. Let's say, you have normal-oily skin, don't use cream-based / oil-based moisturizer as it's too thick for skin type and may clog the pores which makes your skin looking oily and dull then. Try to use gel-based moisturizer as it's less thick and it's easy to be absorbed into skin. Oh and it's also important on how you apply the moisturizer, try to tap your skin multiple times after applying it. It will help the absorption into skin better.
I wish they had sold Proactiv, Exposed Skin care, Acnease and Accutane back in the early 1960s when I could have used this! I would have felt much more confident with clear, perfect skin like my classmates all had!
Hey Cassandra! It seems like when I use more moisturizing gentle cleansers and products my acne is actually better than when I use harsher products! I would call my skin combination but mostly oily! Why is that?! Thank you!
Can you talk about Retin-A?? Also, I really love your new videos but I would really appreciate if you could mention which products you recommend instead of just the general amazon page! Thanks
I know u have recommend Yes To tomatoe before.. do u have an opinion on the watermelon moisturizer from yes to.. I love it I'm only concerned with the frangrance so I've only been putting it on my neck and chest.. . Do think it's ok to put on my face or shouldn't if I wanna avoid long term frangrace irritation?
Wow so amazed 😍👏🏼👌🏼 perfectly worded! I do every step ! Expect exfoliating I need to exfoliate more ! Is there a special recipe or brand you recommend?
Daniela CBaltazar it has a high concentration I recommend you try another product with niacinamide with lower concentration to train your skin to it or do a patch test it irritating
This healing clay is life saving for me. My problem is whenever I get acne it leaves me a dark spot no matter what😢😢 Could u plz tell me what should I use for those dark spot. Plz!
Dark spots or hyperpigmentations are formed in our skin when it is trying to protect it's already wounded places from damage that is caused by sunlight. This helped me prevent my dark spots. I hope this could be helpful to you as well. Good luck!
Do you think rose water can be used instead of a cleanser Cassandra? I have a lot of clogged pores and am currently trying simple routines. I wake up, use rose water to clean my face and apply moisturiser. Throughout the day I wear no make up and in the evening I use rosewater again. It seems to work for me somehow, I am having less breakouts.
Why is vasoline horrible for the face? I use it on wounds (like drained pimples) to prevent scarring and speed healing, and used to put it on dry areas before I found a good hydrating routine.
HI ; I have a question....... I am not a native speaker that's why perhaps didn´t get the idea; so When do I apply a mask? I mean after the moisturaizer or the serum or maybe at the end of my routine , or at any time I want......PLEASE so confused :(
What if i use face oil (grapeseed oil) as a replacement of my mouisturizer? Should i still use it after my serum? Bc its said to use it before other skincares to help them penetrate deeper
I need to watch this as my skin is at war again and I'm clueless as to why and I do try to take care of my skin by washing and moisturizing etc. I used Aveeno 60 sec wash and since my face has been rashy with dry spots.🤔.. Thank you for making videos like this and have to say I love this hairstyle on you 😆
I’ll be honest, I manually exfoliate every night with a soft exfoliating towel and my cleanser. I mostly exfoliate on the t-zone because I have a lot of sebum on my nose, chin, and forehead. And I’ve noticed my skin improve only after I did this combo, but now I’m worried since you said it does damage. Idk what to do...
Sharai Ann Bravo Sharai Ann Bravo hey gorgeous!! If this works for you then keep it up :) everyone’s skin is different!! Also if you do have those oily areas I completely see how the skin might be a little more tolerant :)
Any ideas on how to get rid of comodoneal acne it's on my cheeks amd forhead never had acne before till bout 4 months postpartum now I have acne and my son is almost 8 months..these closed comodonea wont go away
I am from India, and I have suffered from milia as far as I can remember, I have been to many dermatologists here, not one told me clearly the cause for Milia, now I know that it should have been the petroleum based products which I used to use and I embarrassed to say this but, I actually thought it was hydrating my face, now after knowing this I feel so crappy that I have done this to myself.
I hope you will read my comment... I have pcod and um just fed up with taking fu*king contraceptives.... I have face full of acne and thick hair.... I hope you will make a video on this... 💔😞
@cassandra bankson: I have a little question! If I am using a prescribed medicine such as benzoyl peroxide, when should I apply it to my skin during my skincare routine? After or before which steps? Thanks a lot!
That was very helpful Cassandra :D I'm reading the lists of ingredients on my creams and sun screens right now and I can see already which ones are safe and which are not. Thanks
Two things: THANK YOU for always talking about cleansing once a day. And even though I’ve been subbed for two years, I just realized your last name is Bankson, not Bakehorn.
For sensitive skin is is recommended to only wash your face at night. I personally will wash my face in the morning with lukewarm water because I Use a night firming cream since I'm over 50 and if I'm going out I want to put on some moisturizer with SPF. I use apple cider vinegar with water as a toner twice a day instead of a store bought toner that contains chemicals that are too harsh for sensitive skin. BTW the smell goes away once it dries and you don't have to rinse it off. BTW for sensitive skin it is recommended to use any kind of masks and peels only once a week. You need to stress that for people with sensitive skin. Thanks. Sunscreens for sensitive skin are best for those who maybe somewhat sensitive to sunscreen.
I like to wash my face before doing my makeup, you mentioned you wash once at night... do you rinse your face before makeup or just put it on your face that isnt washed?
i have a question if you use a mask would you do it after all the steps? and after you take it of with just water or cleanser? if with clensear wouldnt that take all the product you put in first?? thank youu
Hey hey plz i have a question...i use vaseline intensive care fragrance free for mosturization...i have eczema and they say its recommended for eczema ...but i also have acne and u said dont use dimethcone and silicons...what do i dooo plz reply cassandraa
I don't wear make-up even if i have those big pimples😪 so do i have to cleanse and hydrate and others? Or is it better to do nothing with your skin ( of course washing it with water)????
The things that worked for me was drinking alot more water during the day, eating healthier (more omega3, good fats and greens) and using a good moisturizer

Omg this is really all the education or information I need, since I vlog and love skincare so much! I love you Cassandra Bankson!!! ❤️❤️❤️
But isn’t dimethicone is good at retaining skin’s moisture barrier and is skin friendly
Can you explain why mineral oil and petroleum are “terrible” for your skin? I have been told by dermatologists that they are not harmful, but helpful.
Yeah, my dermatologist recommended me to put Vaseline on my dry areas.

you changed my life! thank u so much!
I think you're fantastic and always a wonderful wealth of information 😊 In regards to spot treatments, when do you apply them?
I don’t really have a skincare routine. I just cleanse and moisturize and maybe tone and that’s it. I also use a face scrub and that’s basically it.
bruh that is a skincare routine
For the mask category what are your thoughts on double masking. Example one for getting rib of oil and the one for moisturizing in the same session?
Can you talk about Retin-A??
Also, I really love your new videos but I would really appreciate if you could mention which products you recommend instead of just the general amazon page! Thanks
I know u have recommend Yes To tomatoe before.. do u have an opinion on the watermelon moisturizer from yes to.. wow learned alot, nice video!
Do you recommend the "niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% serum" by the ordinary for someone that suffers from rosacea and it has acne-prone skin?
Daniela CBaltazar it has a high concentration I recommend you try another product with niacinamide with lower concentration to train your skin to it or do a patch test it irritating
I just took legit notes
This healing clay is life saving for me. My problem is whenever I get acne it leaves me a dark spot no matter what😢😢
Could u plz tell me what should I use for those dark spot. Plz!
I used to have a lot of problems with acne. I did find treatment however and now I'm acne free! Learn how I got rid of my acne here: AcneFix.xyz

"Landry day, but for you face"-you gotta luv her
Karson Bruce lol love you Karson! I hope you found this video helpful :)
Thank you so much. I learnt so much after seeing this video. 😍 you got yourself a new subscriber 😊
I use as a toner floral waters such as rose water or lavender water because they are more natural. Do floral waters are good to use as toners?
Do you think rose water can be used instead of a cleanser Cassandra? I have a lot of clogged pores and am currently trying simple routines. I wake up, use rose water to clean my face and apply moisturiser. Throughout the day I wear no make up and in the evening I use rosewater again. It seems to work for me somehow, I am having less breakouts.
The Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum.. what are your thoughts on its ingredients? I love it and I want to know if it actually is worth it!
Thank you, this is helpful information.
Could you do a video on which makeup to use that doesn’t break out in acne the next fY
Why is vasoline horrible for the face? I use it on wounds (like drained pimples) to prevent scarring and speed healing, and used to put it on dry areas before I found a good hydrating routine.

the MURAD gel has Dimethicone, which you said we must avoid? did i misunderstand?
i love your videos! they help me a lot

Thanks

Can you please recommend me face mask for my acne skin ( my skin type is acne, not so oily , its medium type , and has got little acne scars)
What's a good non-dimethicone/silicone moisturizer for day and night? For oily/acne prone skin? Is there an option with broad spectrum SPF? Thank you!
i have a question if you use a mask would you do it after all the steps? and after you take it of with just water or cleanser? if with clensear wouldnt that take all the product you put in first?? thank youu
When do you used the good oils like tea tree or jojoba? Is that more of a moisturizer or serum?
Its more of a moisturizer as it doesnt penetrate deep like serums are made to do

So in depth
What about vitamin D and sunscreen? I mean can sunscreen prevent from getting enough of it? 🤔 I'm not sure how that works.
No...you still get Vitamin D w sunscreen but you dont get the harmful rays.
The Aztec healing clay mask really didn’t work for me, and rather made me break out so much 😭 I wish it did work for me tho!
Hi Cassandra. This Moisturizer from Murad has dimethicone very high up on the list. Is this a random example or do you recomend it anyways?
