  • I love a good kebab, so looked into making my own Tandoor for the back garden, here's the making of the Tandoor from Flower pots and the test run with Chicken tikka and lebanese lamb shish kebabs.

    Tandoor excel for making flat breads, or tandoor chicken, for skewers I find regular BBQ grill cooks more evenly.

    I followed SimpleNick and made a tandoori just like yours. In the bottom I made a rectangle whole, easier for cleaning. My plate to hold the charcoal broke from the heat. I replaced it with a stainless steel dog dish drilled with holes. Mines big enough to roast a four pound chicken or pork butt. My cover eventually broke in two pieces, I still use it. It has been two year and we use our tandoori a lot.

  • @camillenora7366

    Too many expensive pots. Its better you burn charcoal and use a big alumunimum tray and put all the carcoal in it and skewer your kababs. Or use an old pan and put all the charcoal in it and on top skewer.

  • @AtEboli
    @AtEboli 5 років тому +5

    Looks to me like the meat would cook unevenly- the parts on the lower end would cook quickly, and get overdone by the time the stuff higher up on the skewer is ready.

    • @kitchenudders
      @kitchenudders  5 років тому

      It was ok actually, very hot inside so a good cook all over. But yeah a little more charred on the bottom piece.

    • @ziptiefighter
      @ziptiefighter 2 роки тому

      I read a helpful tip on another tandoor vid suggesting to use two skewers per kabob, one from either end. This allows you to flip it for more even cooking top-to-bottom. And you might still be able to suspend the kabobs from above if you so choose. This also minimizes the potential for food items to slip off the skewer.
