Hi Prash! Very exciting to see the camera I built you on display in a UA-cam video! Seeing the scenery makes me want to visit Singapore again
I'll add a few points here try and explain some of the dongle issues you had:
    1) The dongle variant you got was the 2nd generation (the joys of being an early adopter!). I came to the same conclusions and provided the same feedback as you did, and there is now a third generation coming to the public soon. This version has a thicker PCB and fits much more snuggly into the flash socket. It also has thicker switches that are easier to use. I have been using a preview of these personally over the last few weeks and they are much nicer. I am currently working with Yongmin to also make the battery it uses easier to replace to further futureproof it - so stay tuned!
    2) A good tip is that the camera's "brain" will re-set each time it is collapsed and erected again (collapsing the camera cuts power to the PCB). The camera will 'remember' its last setting, even if you turn the dongle off. So if you set it for "B" and turn off the dongle. It'll remember "B" until you collapse the camera or turn the dongle on again. If you want to ensure its on Auto 600 - just collapse it and open it up again while the dongle is off.
    3) The issues you had on wireless shooting mode and getting disconnected were likely to do with low battery. Also, there is a delay of around 1 second after pressing the button before it takes the photo. If you had a longer delay than that, it's possible that you accidentally engaged a longer timer setting - such as 5 seconds - which is possible
    4) The on/off switch on the dongle cuts power to the battery entirely so as not to drain it when not in use. This means the switch must be slid to ON while charging. It's an easy mistake to make. If you don't realize, the dongle will SEEM like it's charging, but it wont actually charge.
I personally think the biggest advantage of this new PCB is the auto 600 mode - which it defaults to. I have found that most of my clients use this mode exclusively since its super accurate. The additional features are lovely to have as a bonus though - especially the remote shutter button mode. Most users of the SX-70R will likely just stick it in auto for the majority of the time, and pull out the additional settings for more specific scenarios requiring more control.

Hey thanks for watchig our vide. It truly is very cool! and it really is the way forward for the SX70 mods coming out. Not sure if there is anyone in the US who does these mods though?
BTW love your coverage of the NYC Polacon this year!

One thing that would help is if you had an “off” setting like the Mint Time Machine has, that way you avoid accidental firing of the shutter like you had when you were coming through the revolving doors. It also prevents people not familiar with the camera to shoot it and waste film.

yea that would be useful. but I am not sure if its worth the premium you pay to MiNT for that mod.

@@the.midlifers my point is that maybe the makers of the new PCB/dongle should incorporate that kind of control (shutter lock).

Personally i feel they are 2 different cameras with their own seperate pros and cons. Its abit like comparing apples with oranges. Maybe if you can tell me which features you wish to compare then i can let u know which is "better"!
