  • 10 Villages make up the Bafaw Tribe which is found in the South West Region of Cameroon. The people originated somewhere in the area bounded by the people of Dchang in the East, the Bayangi and "Bamenda" people to the North and Oroko to the West. Te history is intertwined with that of the Bakossi people who it is said share a common fore father. KOKOBUMA is the most Northerly and original village of the ten. Next, KOMBONE.

Hello, the place is very nice and the construction of the bridge amazing!
There is something that interests me in the north-west region, especially in Bafut, which I would like to understand if you please Mrs Makia Epie. I was to visit once and I was really shocked how it looks like my village, be it culture, architecture of houses, chiefdoms, organization of society, tribal language spoken there low, etc. In fact I am from Bandjoun and there are a lot of similarities between the villages of the west and those of the northwest. So the question is whether it has always been like that even at the time or Southern Cameroon was a state where these similarities began to appear between these two regions after the union of the countries? I am asking this question because I know that in general I know that to go from Bamenda to Buea you have to go through Bafoussam and cross the west in general and maybe there were cultural mixes at those times or are brothers who were separated by the colonisa? And at the same time, one of the observations that push me to ask myself this question is also the fact that one of the biggest communities that is not west in Bafoussam are our brothers in the northwest.
Sorry to have been long and thank you for your beautiful videos Mr Makia Epie.

Thank you for your compliment. You may be interested to know that there is a part of the Bamileke tribe that is actually in Bamenda. (Nde people). Until the whiteman drew a boundary and split up families into East and West Cameroon. I have driven through Bandjoun many times as my wife is from that area. No, the shortest path to Bamenda from Buea is through Kumba, Mamfe, then Bamenda. People were going through Bafoussam because roads in Southwest and Northwest Regions were so horrible to a point that it was impossible to go to Bamenda from Buea in one day. Today, as I write, Buses to Bamenda from Douala are going through Kumba, Mamfe into Bamenda. The roads are the newest in Cameroon, void of all the big swimming pools that you have to drive into if you go through Bafoussam. I just went from Makenene to Douala through Bafoussam. I will post that video for you soon. Please subscribe. Thank you.
