The oil from your fingers is what made it separate. Always, ALWAYS seal with a sealer of some kind. I use Rustoleum Clear Matte. The reason your bugs didn't glow is you did the glow paint first then regular paint. You should always add the glow additive last so the uv Ray's can penetrate and activate it. Love y'all. I work with all resins on a daily basis. If you ever have any questions, reach out to me. I'm glad to help. Love y'all!
How many times has Garrett missed when he is starting STEP 2 Kim your face is always so fun to watch when Garrett is introducing all the different Steps. I just love watching ya'll! Sending love from West Virginia!!
Sooo cute! Love the ombre effect of the blue background on Garrett's. The wet brush technique was a great call. The white splatters look great too. Aw...disappointed that it didn't glow but the resin on the firefly did add a nice touch. Great call on painting the "SWEET" white Kim. It definitely pops. Love the addition of the lemon. I think the lemonade would still look great without the straw. Maybe change the design so that the lemon is attached instead of the straw?🤔🤔🤔 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the shout out Garrett. I was the one who apologized for not mentioning the zip ties before. 💕💕💕
Great way to start my Fridays when I wake up😜😜😜 Have to go with Garrett's sign today, sorry Kim. I tend to gravitate towards blue but especially fireflies. I do like the addition of the straw and 🍋 🍋 🍋. SUGGESTION: When you make your designs, could you sell the embellishments separately?? Would love to be able to add the fireflies, lemons, etc., that you make to other projects that you sell. You could make a sheet of six or eight, which ever would be more cost efficient. I would rather spend my money with you than Amazon. At least then I know what I'm getting. Hope you consider this idea. Anyone reading this comment....what do you think? Have a super day K & G. Good luck tomorrow and make lots of money 💰💲💸🥰
Hi Kim and Garrett - You are my cup of coffee and start to every Friday. You did another adorable project. I like them both, I've never worked with resin, so I can't help you there, but the technique looks great. Hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing and continued success. Love PegEgg
I work with resin alot, and I love these Mason Jar hangers. ALWAYS spray a spray sealer, sometimes the resin won't still to slick/ oily surfaces. Also the glow additive should be added last. I use a Powder UV reactive from Woodies Goodies. GREAT stuff releasing a new tumbler design very soon ;)
I love them both...I would use a mica glow powder in the resin...and I would use a regular quick coat epoxy that dries in a few hrs,or spray with triple thick gloss spray...Also,you can’t have any oils from your skin on it or it will repel the resin and cause fish eye...ZIP ties are my go to for everything..Bows,wreaths, they are so handy and versatile..GAME CHANGER in the crafting world...HTH...Love watching you guys...♥️♥️ Thanks for the tutorial and the laughs...
Too cute! Maybe you need to use regular epoxy and tint it with yellow alcohol ink because it’s more transparent. I think the yellow paint kind of masked the glow properties.
Those are so cute!! You could pour regular resin in it and let it harden. I do the tumblers and molds and if you can pour in in a mold you should be able to do it on those. Maybe watch some of Stone Coat Counter Tops videos he does resin on wood all the time
You can’t use UV resin to set in opaque objects - the resin won’t cure underneath. You would need an epoxy resin instead, and it can be tricky to keep items in place while curing. And Kim is correct- cure up in thin layers, put glow layer on last. Great project!!
I love Fireflies, as you can tell by my name, I will be ordering the SVG files. also this video popped up for me for how to get water droplets look, search for "How To Create An Amazing Epoxy Water Drop Finish | RK3 Designs"
I love you guys! So fun to watch. With resin, and it being outside, please be prepared for it to yellow over time. You might be ok with that. But, the color of the resin could change if exposed to the sun. Edited to add: I will do some testing with the country chic paints and resin. I have experienced peeling, but I have not used that UV resin with country chic paint. I suspect it may require a touch of the country chic paint being mixed with the resin. Casting resin might work better than Uv resin, since it has a long curing time and can bond with the paint better. I will report back.
I love all of your videos and the Country Chic pant is awesome! I’ve ordered from you several times now! I love that you offer free shipping over $35 and it always arrives super fast! Please keep doing what y’all do!! 🥰💜💙🤩 By the way what’s the wood sign behind Kim?
The mason jars are great. Love both! How or where do I find link to the UV resin. I have never worked with resin but would love to learn. Oh and please share link to the UV lamp please. I sent you guys a message on messenger.
I love both of your jars. Where did you get the u v resin? I’ve never used it before. What is the stencil kit you were talking about where you got the light from?
Yes! I'll keep a lookout for your email and as for the resin and lamp we used this kit ikonartstencil.com/ikonart-custom-stencil-kit/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwLKFBhDPARIsAPzPi-Lh9OPciZjv1RcPTPpSJpy7m0tvM3XbbUzP2jb9nEancA4W7EQgPgIaAh3UEALw_wcB as well as any kind of UV resin like this www.amazon.com/Transparent-Ultraviolet-Sunlight-Activated-Crystal/dp/B08NSDXS5D/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=UV+resin&qid=1621952882&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNEpHNkVET1hCVFMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAxNjA2OTgxMVFTQTk2NklLUlk1JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxNjQxMTFOTzU1Tk44ODQwVFUmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
Do not use that resin. Work with regular epoxy. U can use glow in dark micas. Take the time to let it dry. I love u guys. I just paint my home sweet home sign I got from you guys. Love it and so does everyone who sees it.

Great idea. In military speak...I concur.
I agree, I wanted both the lemon and the lightening bugs as we call them lol
I'll suggest we add them to our new website! I think that's a great idea guys!!
Love everything you do... I especially love the Glowforge videos!! Thank you ❤️🤗
I'm so glad!
Love these, guys! Thanks for showing a close up of the zip ties on the bow, too. I couldn't picture how it would work.
Glad you liked it!! We tried to get in there this time!
Your videos and a cup of coffee is a great way to start a Friday morning. Love everything you guys do!!
You're the best! Thank you so much
Great work guys!
Cheers

I think they both turned out so cute! Maybe next time you try it you'll get it perfect but they're still adorable.
Thank you!! I agree
I like both signs.

Thanks for commenting all your great tips!!
My three favorite words too lol. Clever using the painters tape like cricut transfer tape. Try painting over the resin again
Great tip!
Love you guys, you brighten my day🌞 (and you are so talented)❣️
You're so sweet thank you Missy!
I have a suggestion for the straw... make it like a puzzle piece, easy to fit in for gluing in place, for the shipping problem .
Ohhh that's not a bad idea!
Too cute! Maybe you need to use regular epoxy and tint it with yellow alcohol ink because it’s more transparent. I think the yellow paint kind of masked the glow properties.
Good idea! thank you
Super video! I applauded for $2.00 👏
Yay! Thank you!!!
Another beautiful creation. Love both of them. Thank you guys for sharing

YESSSSS!!
Love those!!!
Thank you!!!
Love the mason jars :)
Thanks!
Love both of them!!!!! And you two are very entertaining! Thanks for great content week after week. ☺️
Thanks!!
So cute! Zip ties are a game changer, for sure. I use longer ones or hook some together to hang décor on my porch railing..
Yesss!!!! thta's not a bad idea
Love your videos. Because of you guys I'm getting back into door hangers and I'm getting a glow forge 🤗🤗 love love you.guys 💗
Ahhh congratulations!!! WE can't wait to see what you make Carolyn!!

Love these! Great idea putting the glow-in-the-dark on the butts of the fireflies!
Thanks!!! We hope they glow lol
Omg I LOVE them! I'll definitely have to order a bunch of signs to make soon.
Aw thank you so much!! please do lol
Could be something as simple as the oils in your hand. Resin separates from oils or the mixing ratio is out.
They both came out cute
Can you do a video dedicated to making bows? That would be awesome.....
I was just going to write the same thing. I would love to know how Kim made those bows....but I need to see it being made :)
YES I might just do that :)
They both look awesome but I’m clueless when it comes to resin. Hope the rest of your week is amazing. 🤗
#kindnessmatters
Omg you guys did amazing!! Im hoping you still have these!! I need to order some. Kim do you have a bow tutorial?
not yet!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Hopefully you can make one! Both of you are amazingly talented!! 👏
Love the firefly one :)
Thank you1!!
How do you protect them from the elements? Rain Sun dirt Etc?
I love Fireflies, as you can tell by my name, I will be ordering the SVG files. also this video popped up for me for how to get water droplets look, search for "How To Create An Amazing Epoxy Water Drop Finish | RK3 Designs"
Okay thank you! We’ll look into it
Looked in your store for the kit for 4th of July to do on June 13th live but can't locate it. Is it going to be available soon??🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I was wondering same thing. I can’t wait to order them as well as these.
You can find the kits here! www.kandgmakeit.com/store/c4/Shop.html#/ they're up on the site now
I haven’t tried resin yet. Kim - you got your rippling effect! Garrett, I tried several UV paints & none of them worked! Enjoyed the video!
Oh no! What a bummer, thanks for watching :)

Thank you for the tips!!! We don't mind the yellowing too much and haven't noticed any peeling
May I ask what your favorite glue is at the moment? Stuff to glue the wood to wood, as seen in the video.
We've been using: Starbond EM-150 Medium, Premium CA - Super Glue
❤️❤️❤️
How can I order one and price please they both are adorable
OMG all you have to do is go to our site here: www.kandgmakeit.com/store/c4/Shop.html#/
