There’s nothing better than having a knowledgeable sub that’s willing to speak up and provide feedback based on their knowledge, which in return could change the scope slightly, but for the better. Having the right sub can make or brake your business. Never worked with Driscoll, but now they’re on my radar. Great video….
One of your best site tours. Reminds me of a house I built years ago that was wired by moonlighting industrial electricians. There was not a twist in any wire and I hated to cover it up.
Great informative walkthrough. Love the amazing thoughtful quality work you are doing around here. Wish I found you prior to my 2019 Dover reno! One note: Pico (Luton Caseta) is NOT Wi-Fi. It runs self-contained on 400/800mHz. Yes, the bridge to Wi-Fi an augment and connect to phone app and other systems of home control but the basic facility of the switches all function independent of both internet and home network.
As a FF/AEMT. thank you for including the fire department before demo. Acquired structures are gold mines for training. We rarely get to go inside modern residences and practice opening up roofs/walls. Teaching building practices etc.
I just bought wire yesterday and saw the different colors for the different gauges and number of wires. I absolutely love that. I don’t love the new code change to not have an outlet in the side of the island. So ridiculous.
If it was my house, I'd wire all switches for conventional switches regardless of Pico usage. It's very simple to switch to Pico or any other "smart" switch but it'd be impossible to switch to conventional if it's not wired for it. At least this is how I did this in my remodel. And I'm fully invested in Lutron :)
Even tho 352.30 only requires supporting 3ft from box you're relying way too heavily expansion joint to stop the Earth moving that PVC pipe horizontally that's why most electricians lower the expansion joint and that is short PVC pipe in between box and expansion joint so you don't tear off/ destroy the lower half of the box Box in this situation is referring to the service
For that window in the bathroom why not just have it that the window tints with a switch? No need for blinds. If someone goes in the shower they can just flip a switch and the window "tint" turns on.

We felt the same

An easy thing to offer, happy to help
Now my favorite video from you guys
Boom! They’re getting better and better
😍 6:31 the attention to detail when running the wires 😍 What is that steel bracket called that the wires are zip-tied to at 6:31 and 8:57?
@@crabkilla telescoping screw gun box bracket
Make it pretty!
FYI for all - Bocci is excellent, but we use a lot of Prado now where it will work. Similar/same great aesthetic, much more cost effective
Dude thank you for this. The bocci installation is terrible and hard to get flush every time. The prado seems way better
Great feedback. Will share more later
Great pre planning.couldn't imagine having to go back in after its finished to add something, plus the cost of it later on to do so.
Preconstruction is where the money is made.

Agreed. I liked the color coding.
We still added outlets on the island
Lutron also has Pico scene controller switches that are very user friendly within the Lutron ecosystem.
Thanks for sharing. Do you prefer these?
I luv this
❤
👍 Not sure if it will be germane next year but I like to add USB outlets in the kitchen especially the island where a lot of people have laptops out.
Great idea.

That was our thinking
I hate having main disconnects outside. If someone wants to cut off your power, it's easy peasy.
If the antenna is in the top of the panel taking space away could you mount them upside down so you don't need a lower trough?
There is space above the span panel to make additional KO’s even with a big center KO for the feeder. Look up the spec and you will see
Following the instructions.
Is this a spec build?
“Spec”
Even if it were, we have a terrible housing shortage in Boston so they would have no problem finding a buyer
@ it will sell because it’s and NS Build!

Why could/is the overhead line a smaller line comparative to the underground line?
The open air allows for cooling so the line doesn't overheat allowing for the wire to be smaller.
@jongreen9250 i was leaning that way with my reasoning with myself lol
1:56 police and SWAT and FBI can also disconnect you before they raid, for your safety ofcourse.
“Have you ever filed anything?”
“No”

400 Amps for a house that size shows how talented and experienced these teams are.
Appreciate that recognition! You see so many pulling in 600+ because of oversized equipment and a under performing envelope
400 amps plus solar. My, my. What on earth are they powering?
That was informative.

Ugly house.
Why are they installing cable like cavemen in the USA??? Amateurish
@@GIGAGRILLE how are you installing cables?
