These honest open videos are awesome. I have enjoyed your content as you provide a relaxed vibe to encourage people to get out and ride. You have great bike mechanic skills. Ultimately, you need to figure out your audience. Many ways to go: Long format 30+ minutes ● Series on an a topic or trip. Something like a route planning, basic bike maintenance series where you spend 2-3 days filming then 3-5 days editing into say Part 1 to 5, released once a week. Then you can make play lists. When you get bored, a series where you go around interviewing random people asking how they got riding, what keeps them motivated, etc. You do series about urban riding vs gravel. You can do a series showing how to do your first 10 mile ride and dealing with traffic, etc. Then increase to 25, 50, 100 mile rides. Step by step from what to wear to food, etc. Once you figure out your audience, my thoughts are new and casual riders. Mix up your channel with how to, interviews, adventure trips: bike camping, long one day rides, etc. How to ride on a budget. I think most UA-camrs either make a general plan for content for the month, then plan to release regular videos on the same day each week. Formula could be 1 video + 2 shorts per week for six months. Then evaluate. Take feed back from comments to build future ideas. Regarding Patreon, its getting too much. Once you have 25k or maybe 50k, until then, I would think UA-cam revenue can get ok the more you grow. In the end you find the balance of UA-cam analytics + audience requests + what your interested in. Test for 2'3 months different edit styles to see what gets most retention views. I believe consistency is key. Film on batches, edit on regular days & post on regular days. You got this, excited for your Journey. Use Trello to plan your content schedule, its a task/project manager but works on both phone and laptop, very visual or use Walling. Something to make written.plans and note your ideas for content. Each week review and make your plan, then execute.

or maybe it can be plant life (reason for route). I watched to the end. I would love to know more about how you used the pocket 3 on the bike. Attached to handlebars? color pro or normal. Shooting while riding is something I want to do.
You are an interesting guy and I have subscribed.

Made it to the end! I appreciate these types of videos as someone who’s also trying to find a creative outlet and have enjoyed making UA-cam vids but have gotten stuck on what kind to make. Anyway, you seem like a cool guy and I would have loved to ride with you if I was still in the SLC area (I’m in Portland now).

I appreciate you watching & letting me know you made it to the end & struggle with the same problems. Makes me feel less alone. ✌🏼

I can totally relate! Creativity can be so hard sometimes. Some things that have been inspiring me lately though are getting a unicycle and a cargo bike. Not sure what video I should or could make about them yet though…

Thank you for leaving your thoughts!! Means a lot that you watched & took the time to comment. I’ll be on the lookout for some cargo bike/unicycle content!
