I'm Rocket Riley, and I like to talk about Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Game of Thrones, animation, every popular fandom, and anything streaming. Mostly, I talk about whatever interests me in pop culture.
In my opinion, If anyone doesn't mention "Shashank Redemption" in their list. The list is incompleted.

TLDR
Great list! Thank you for the recommendations
your description of jojo rabbit is spot on
How TF Is Thor 3 in this list
😂😂
you mean the black panther movies, thor 3 was pretty good for a superhero movie
at first I thought you were talking about Thor Love and Thunder which is kinda shit, but Thor 3 is an awesome movie
And Matrix isn’t even here
Thor 3 was good.... until infinity war ruined it
Some of the newer movies are a bit 6/10 but some of the classics are straight up 11/10
What are the 6/10s ?
@@Iegionizer Black panther 2
thats ur opinion, imo some of the new movies are amazing as well maybe just nostalgia for u
Just watched the prestige...what a masterpiece
I’d put “No Country for old men” in there before any of the Star Wars movies
The Perks of being a wallflower omg I cried at it
Even though, I am not fully agree with your movie selections I appreciate the lenght and music of the video. Its refreshing to watch a list video without tiktok music.
I would add: Shashank Redemption, The Dark Knight, Garden State, Forrest Gump,, American History X, American Beauty
Jurassic Park, Shin Godzilla, Bladerunner, The Goonies, No Country For Old Men, LotR trilogy, The Matrix, Spiderman 1&2, Cinderella Man, Master and Commander, Indiana Jones 1-3, Star Wars 3-6, Gran Torino, The Sandlot, Harry Potter movies, Ghost Busters, Star Trek Wrath of Khan, Silence of the Lambs, Top Gun 1&2, X-Men 1-2 and Days of Future Past, The Northman, Predator, Alien 1&2, Contact, Signs, Life Aquatic, Dead Pool, Fargo, Parasite, Sicario, Braveheart, Tropic Thunder, The Mummy, The Thing, Miracle, Dark Knight trilogy, Gladiator, Pans Labyrinth, Ex Machina, The Big Lebowski, Apollo 13, Logan, District 9, Office Space, Tomb Stone, The Prestige, Saving Private Ryan, The Last Samurai, Gangs of New York, Snatch, Monty Python, Life of Brian, John Wick and Starship Troopers.
I could probably think of a few more, but those are among my favorites.
I saw Tropic Thunder... you could do a complete list of 25 best parody movies of all-time!!
The truman show
loved your list, you have basically the same taste in movies as me. I think I've watched 46 or something out of the 50 movies, so omw to watch the 4 I hadnt seen
That's awesome!
@@RocketRileyhey loved the list. What about goodfellas and Toy Story??
really my same same taste too iam here to type the same comment as @stianhaland8241 to be honest iam feeling wierd espicaly finding my same fav animation movies coco for instance hope u make list for the newer movies cause i liked your taste in movies and ill maybe a thing or two from you tnx
Forrest Gump not being here is a crime
Overrated shit
Well no it’s just a random dude compiling a list
Because you watch it I heaven after you die?
That's true Forrest Gump is one of the best movies in history in my opinion
Tbf it's better if there isnt a million films weve all seen a million times
The Truman show, green book, dances with wolves, castaway, braveheart, and Forrest gump should be on here. They are timeless classics
Maybe many White americans don‘t Like to be remembered on what was done to native americans.
In no particular order, I'd like to recommend:
- Ghost in the Shell (1995)
- Hoop Dreams (1994)
- 12 Angry Men (1957)
- Rear Window (1954)
- Akira (1988)
- Birdman (2014)
- Network (1976)
- Oldboy (2003)
- High and Low (1963)
- No Country for Old Men (2007)
That's a based list
birb man shite, no country for old men = masterpiece
Oldboy is wild
Oldboy is one of my favourite movies but I find it really depressing. What's done is done.
No Country for Old Men is my favorite movie of all time. Oldboy is good, but definitely not for everyone. Birdman is boring. Watchmen on the other hand...
What about Pursuit of Happyness, Forrest Gump, Life of Pi, Once Upon a Time in America ? These movies deserves a place in this list.
Life of Pi 🤮
all bad movies.
@@GolfYourself Forrest Gump was good, the rest were garbage.
No? Life of pi was actually a great movie man along with the others which I gonna watch soon.@@itzamia
@@koreanfever3132 The boy was on a boat with an angry tiger just to find out he was the tiger the whole time dealing with his own demons..or something like that. One and done on that one.
this is a click bait, not a legit list by any standards.
A movie someone has to watch "in their lifetime" is a very different thing to telling someone to watch the best movies ever. While there is overlap, a movie to watch "before you die" or before you are no longer a human being, has to be something that instills a great deal of human emotion within you.
Whether it be a sad movie, a happy movie, a funny movie, a goofy movie, a movie that shows the evil of humanity, a movie that shows our undying goodness, these movies have to be ones that can guide you through life and help you to understand and reflect on the world we're stuck with.
Interstellar, All Quite on the Western Front, The Dark Knight, and Forrest Gump
Preach!!!! all these movies are just blockbusters. There's also no foreign films on the list. ☠
My top 12 watch before die is :
1:Good Fellas
2:Fight Club
3:Pulp Fiction
4:Snatch
5:Memento
6:Natural Born Killers (1994)
7:Léon (Léon the Professional
7:Looper (2012)
8:The Conjuring
9:American History X
10:Forrest Gump
11:The Departed
12:The Matrix (1999)
This is more of a "12 movies to watch if you're a young man", by the time you're nearly dead you won't like half of these. Still a solid list though. Pulp Fiction and American History X will never stop being solid
@@MikePerryLegit okay Boomer x)
@@Genesizs I’m not old at all bruh. Just saying that by the time you’re actually dying you probably won’t have this many action movies on your shit
@@MikePerryLegit for your information i'm 40 x) , and i'm a person that is really hard to change or do i rarely change my mind about things in general cause in my principles i believe i will always stay true to myself, BUT .. that doesn't mean a persons tastes can change, you might be right about some, but how these day's movies are going i doubt it x)
I like that list. Fight Club is the most misunderstood movie ever, but people love it anyways because their subconscious mind knows, what it is all about and the message is goddamn right. In short: it is about modern society being a society of hypocrites, which makes you sick if you try to identify with the role you play in it. the narrator became sick because of that, identifying with his ego, with the things he owns, and with the role he played in that society of hypocritics. nobody can help him, because nobody knows what causes his suffering. not even the doctor, so a self-healing process is induced: a psychosis. a hallucination (created in his subconscious mind) (which the narrator doesn't know about) (it's Tyler Durden of course) shows him what is the root of the problem and what he needs to change in his life to end the suffering. and it works out. that was a short explanation. your welcome people.
There are many more movies to add to this list:
1) Titanic
2) The silence of the lambs
3) Hereditary
4) Midsommar
5) Forrest Gump
6) Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind
7) The Shining
8) Psycho
9) 2001: Space Odyssey
10) Grease
11) The NoteBook
12) Oppenheimer
13) Parasite
14) Dunkirk
15) The Visitor
Etc etc
where are titanic and shawshank redemption???
Some movies that can be added to the list in my opinion
1. Into the Wild
2. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
3. Night at the Museum
4. Watchmen
5. Cast Away
6. Forest Gump
7. No country for old Men
It's a great list though🙂🙂
I watched more than 90% of them.
I really miss the good old days.
Nothing is ever like before, even the movies.
its far better now then it ever was
My top picks
-The Mist
-The Thing
-The Butterfly Effect
-The thirteenth floor
-Man from the Earth
You love any movie start with (the)😂
@@H_A_M_O_1 yes🗿 These movies are old but worth watching.
@@PKMKB93000the thing is the greatest SCI-FI horror movie of all time
Have you ever watched Before I Wake? Or Silent Hill
The Thing is in my top ten. The Mist is okay, but the book is much better. The best movie adaptation of a Stephen King novel imo is 'Misery'. Just amazing, Kathy Bates scares the hell out of me.
The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz, you didn't go back far enough.
Have some list that I can watch after I die?
Ghosts, All dogs go to Heaven, The Shining,13 Ghosts
Where is titanic 😢
it sank brother.
coco made me cry inside, my throat is filled with pain and tears
Would love to see a deeper dive into some of these films. Like, what's so good about whiplash? Also, are these in any particular order or ranking?
Maybe sometime in the future I'll do some deep dives on my favorites in this list!
Whiplash is great!! Definitely worth the watch.
Love that movie! One of my favorites.
@@chaizen439 For fans of Whiplash have you guys seen Swimming with Sharks with Kevin Spacey? He plays a great a-hole boss and it turns out he is a real a-hole in real life. LOL
Whiplash is in my Top 3 favorite movies and you'll know why when you see it.
A little shocked that a list like this doesn't go further past 1980. What about City Lights, Jaws, The Godfather, Bicycle Theives, Frankenstein, 12 Angry Men?
12 Angry Men was great. But I can tell this has to be mostly this guys nostalgia seeing as how Ferris Bueller's Day Off is on the list It is mostly just an OK comedy
@@DugTheDark I think you're right. I mean it kinda has to be - but then why isn't it My 50 Favourites versus the movies to watch before you die???
i kind of watched ALL of these movies (like the most) and i was hoping for smth good like the Truman show which is a master piece to me
I think anyone who love movies, should have and share this list. It tells so much about you that you wouldn't be able to explain. And its a list that would have to be augmented every 5-10 years. I have a list and it does not include a lot of popular films but does have award winners. Loved your post!!
Lots of great films but this is the most generic list I've ever seen with mostly big block buster films that nobody really needs to see at all because story wise they aren't really very special. Also, I may be wrong but not a single foreign film, bro does not like subtitles I guess
This should be called “the rookie safe list”
Why
@@violav7323 Because this list is 95% made up of post-1980 American films, which represents a very small proportion of all the films ever made.
But, to be fair, the author says in the description that these are his favourite films, so there's no problem, it's his choice.
Hence this comment. It sounds like a list for someone who hasn't seen many films in their life, unless they didn't like some of the greatest eras of cinema such as the new wave (especially French one), Hong Kong films from the 90s, Japanese films from the 50s and 60s, recent Korean thrillers, etc etc.
But once again, no need to be condescending, OP choices!
Why doesn’t anybody ever talk about Dallas Buyers Club?
I appreciate your honesty as you didn't hesitate to include the superhero movies. People gotta accept that not including superhero movies in such lists does not make you cool. It just sometimes shows that you're trying too hard to be cool by not including such magnificent pieces of movies. Wherever the appreciation is due, it should be given. There are DC & Marvel movies worthy of making their spot in such movie lists. 'The Dark Knight Trilogy', 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', 'Avengers: Infinity War' and many such movies deserve their place in these lists.
So true
For me I would choose The Dark Knight, Logan, and Into the Spider-Verse
Nut where was Spider-Man 2 wtf
No because superhero films are just an overused formula . Not ince has my dislike to superhero films been a feeble attenpt to appear cool. In fact, it would be “uncool” to dislike them. The only superhero film that i would consider as a top 50 film would be the dark night cause that is a good film, which doesnt use the “formula”. In fact nost batman films are quite good including the joker. Maybe i just prefer dc to crappy marvel
@@sososoawesome1totally agree, yea marvel and DC movies can be enjoyable but trying to put them in a list with the greatest doesn't feel right.
My list includes Shawshanks redemption, October sky, Bronx tales and the pursuit of happiness among many
All great films you have good taste Rocket!
Thanks, glad you like them!
I own 17 of these movies. emperor's new groove was my favourite movie as a kid it still holds up today.

The Shawshank Redemption and The Prestige are MASTERPİECES
I feel like the person who made this list haven't seen enough good movies to push away the stinkers on the list.
Mentioned Black Panter. I know this person doesn't actually appreciate the actual content of a movie.
Where Shawshank?
You should mention Pixar “Soul”. This animation made me cry.
-No country for old men
-prisoners
-I'm legend

You’ll be ready to die 😂
Yes😳
I could understand your choices if the title of your video was *_My Favorite 50 Movies of All Time_* then no one could argue with your choices since everyone has different tastes and as they say there is no accounting for taste. However your title stated *_50 Movies to Watch Before You Die_* which is something else altogether. If the 50 movies one must watch before they die do NOT contain a single Black & White film, a Foreign film and NOT a single movie before the 1980's (I guess they did not make great _must see_ movies back in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's) then that list is way off the mark. I did like a few of your _favorites_ though.

Bruce Almighty
Before I Wake
Silent Hill
Curious George (2009)
