After RRR NTR and Ram Charan got name but their movies didnt release after that. No other south star (am not counting Rajni and Kamal) has any market. Telangana Surya had earlier but Vijay slowly establsihing his market.

As more than 100 screens were provided to thunivu, when compared to varisu, and the main reason is red giant provided more screens to thunivu, the same happened in my city, more shows in bigger screens were provided to thunivu.. but after the first day varisu's box office blew up, and grossed over 300 crores whereas thunivu did only 200 crores 😂

Its one sided rivalry especially since thupakki, vijay film choices has been superb while Ajith had awful choices of films.

The video has got some facts very wrong... Rajini Vs Kamal fans fights were no lesser, it had an ugly face too... They both were close friends but silently encouraged this rivalry, because that made they to move to a different level, that was the differentiating factor from the other actors. The video says they made appearances on the stage together, It was only in the last decade they are seen together on some occasions, earlier that never happened. One good thing about Kamal is, he made all his fan clubs to participate in social service... arranging blood donation, organ donation and doing social activites.
Coming to Ajith - Vijay rivalry, it all started after both of them started doing fans pleasing action movies. They have done movie together in their very initial stage, Ajith has highest praises for Vijay's mom as she fed him through the whole shoot. There was some misunderstanding later between them and they started making sly remarks about each other in their movies. If am right, it was around 2006, they met each other in a common event and shared pleasantries... I dunno whose initiative it was but they decided do away with this rivalry on screen. They had great words to say about each other, Personally they keep meet each other occasionally , but they kept it personal most of the time.
Coming to each other's approach towards their fans... Vijay always had ambition to enter politics and his team has spent a lot of time to have an organized fan clubs, with the proper hierarchy and roles. But, Ajith has huge fan base but always tried to keep a distance and always says, am an actor so appreciate my work and go back to take care of your family and life. In fact he has never promoted his movies. Their fans wanted Ajith too to get involved in politics and they started using his name to promote other parties... Ajith never liked this and he issued sime statements and it kept happening. Once he said stop calling me THALA and call me as just AK. It all went beyond his control and he finally decided to wind up all his fan clubs and strictly told them not to use his name.
These two say there is no rivalry between them, but when ever there is a breaking news about one actor (movie announcement or teaser release, suddenly the other side will release a photo of the other actor to disrupt the limelight, it has been happening. Its more of a business. There are number of movie trackers who feed on these rivalry, they keep their fans on toes.
Frankly, its a curse of Tamilnadu... that the youth are fighting each other for movie actors. These actors are using them. On social media, its unbelievably ugly. you cant have a decent discussion with these fan bois, they are like effin zombies. My 2 cents. Peace.
An adverse outcome is that these two's rivalry takes center stage and other good actors like Vikram, Surya dont get their deserved appreciation (comparatively)
Having said all that, I think in the last 5-7 years Vijay's market has grown tremendously... Salary wise Vijay is the front runner, with out a doubt.
