Damn they kinda messed up her introduction. They should have waited till next season when they have more time, Naofumi was supposed to fight Itsuki, and reflect on how he had been in her situation.
Nothing a good old flashback can't fix but I agree that this would have been better if they saved it for next season. I haven't read the novels but with the way things go down in the manga it really wasn't something that they could have added into the final episode
Yea I bets it’s gonna come down to the bow being like “why’d you take a thief like her” (or something to that extent) and then Naofumi insulting him over being an idiot and kicking out a party member like trash, then a fight ensues
This is why Naofumi is the best hero out of the quartet. He has been through a lot of crap since his arrival and has come out on top while regaining his heroism. Rishia (or Lecia as subbed here) WILL become stronger under his guidance.
@@dragonstouch1042 Ren. Ren is the only other Hero who actually tries to do good. - He has his flaws, but most of it stems either from him being a loner and not knowing how to really work in a team (let alone lead one), getting bad info with certain missions (like the dragon fiasco), or being frustrated about how the Shield Hero specifically is so far ahead (basically, he has a lot of trouble wrapping his head around the support guy of all people is outpacing all 3 the others). - Even later on when he falls from grace, he and his Curse Series are driven by the desire to make amends to the people he's wronged/let down.
The difference lies in the nature of the Cardinal Heroes Legendary Weapons: Itsuki, Motoyasu, and Ren all have DPS Weapons; while Naofumi's weapon is just a Shield: the primary weapon for a Tank. As was shown throughout the season and through the interactions and personality traits of the Three Heroes, all of them treat this situation like a Game and that they are free from most consequences, while Naofumi sees the situation for what it really is in that this is another world and that they are all stuck here to help fix a problem with the Waves. Since Naofumi is a Tank, he has no other choice but to rely upon those next to him to fight his battles, and that due to his High Def; he is able to protect them from danger meaning that in this respect he knows that by default he is the only thing standing between life and death for his party and as such has to plan out their strategy for what to do next. The Three Heroes however are all DPS, whose only go-to strategy that they have is as SAO Abridged puts it: _"Group Up and Hit It Til' It Dies."_ It would go without saying that the Three have no sense of strategy at all because they have absolutely no clue as to what they are even doing; thinking that the weapons are already all that they would need and as such have no need to learn or hone their skills and abilities properly. Itsuki treats his Party as beneath him so he would willingly cast them out should they upstart him, Ren has no team because he is a loner, and Motoyasu only treats his party as a cheerleading squad meant to make him look better than the others. It is clear that they have no strategy to them or even cohesion or a need to even work together to solve a problem as was shown with the Second Wave when they spent THREE HOURS trying to find a way to summon the Boss by doing their own things without changing tactics at all. The queen put it best when she voices that the only Hero who would even be able to survive the Waves would be Naofumi.
I doubt he'd have the patience for the three cardinal stooges, especially when the spear guy is a complete birdbrain and slut accompanies him everywhere and the amount of self control it would take to not kill her where she stands will be excruciatingly difficult
@@VergilTheLegendaryDarkSlayer Spoiler: - - - Following Cal Mira, the Queen puts together a training camp for the Heroes. I don't recall how much Myne is seen during that time (Naofumi and crew more or less ignore her since the Queen and slave crest makes it so she immediately gets shut down whenever she tries to start something). - The arc is more about the 3 Stooges and how they deal with actually having to put in work now instead of getting everything on a silver platter (hint: they don't handle it well).
I’m actually really glad naofumi recruited her. Not because she’s cute, but because he knows what she’s going through. She even wanted to commit suicide, until naofumi stepped in and wanted to help her out. Just like raphtalia wanted to help him.
A lot of people didn’t seem to realize the gravity of the scene. The anime didn’t interpret this situation well. Lucia (or Rishia if you are a LN reader like me) tried to commit suicide. Right here, she would’ve drowned if Filo didn’t save her. The way this whole interaction went down was light hearted, which is not accurate to the source material. Naofumi went and argued with Itsuki about the situation and Itsuki said to Lucia in her face that she’s too weak and can’t do well in her party. Which lead to her attempted suicide right here. My problem is that the atmosphere was way too light hearted for this scene.
As someone who just read through this in the LN, I agree wholeheartedly. It wasn’t a shock because I had watched the show, but it put a whole new light on everything. I hope in Season 2 they get to add the scene of Shield busting down Bow’s door and the ensuing argument, but I doubt we will get to see that now.
In fairness, I feel the need to point out two things: 1. That confrontation scene might still be coming; and 2. The point of the scene is showing how far Naofumi has come in the healing of his own trauma. He's able to offer her the helping hand and trust she needs immediately, without hesitation. The Naofumi from mid-season was psychologically incapable of such a thing.
Literally every mmorpg party in a nutshell You Does the most damage of all your party members Party members: you do nothing u dont even dmg the boss a bit we r gonna kick u
Not the case in MMOS like SWTOR or FF XIV, at least not in my experience. I've *never* run into a "toxic" person in SWTOR while running instances, and in FF XIV in only about 6 months of playing I've only ever run into 3 "toxic" players total. Overall both games have a nice and friendly community.
@@Kronius360 Are they, now? How exactly could they make a reveal on his corrupt side? A flashback, like some suggested? I feel that's kinda unlikely. Then again, I haven't read the Light Novel so I wouldn't know if that's how it went down there. But then again, the whole confrontation, Naofumi's deeper thoughts and the confrontation with Itsuki would take quite a bit of time and work, which I think they would prefer using to introduce the next arc.
(Manga spoilers) . . Motoyatsu (finally) acts like a bro and tries to help Rishia before Naofumi but he decides to let him help her because Motoyatsu is bad with women (that's explains why he was so easly manipulated by Myne, he never was so close with a girl) Motoyatsu was annoying in the past but he wasn't a bad person, he's just not so smart. But Itsuki crossed the line here, we are reaching the point of about being a hypocrite, he claims to fight for justice but now he betrayed her most useful party member just because he was jealous.
Naofumi is best hero not because he can do massive damage with a shield, it's because he has a moral compass and also offers emotional support to his team and to everyone he meets.
@AKUJIRULE In Japan, yes it is legal. Here in the US (depending on which state you live in), it is technically not legal. Anything under 18 is considered a minor here in the US. Especially for Naofumi since he was 20 when he was transported to the other world. Like I said, though, it is different for Japan. Women can marry at age 16 while males can marry at 18 so I guess it can vary depending on where you live but I will say you are correct since it originated in Japan.
@@gokuandmario4everThey'll probably have to go though similar shit to unlock their true power. And I have a very bad feeling Myne (Bitch/Slut) is going to have a hand in that.
Actually, Itsuki was simply aware from the beginning that his party members were setting her up, but he played along and cast her out anyway. When Naofumi tries to reveal the deceit to him, Itsuki reveals the above and "justifies" it by basically saying _"he was doing her a favor, since _*_people who are hopelessly useless_*_ shouldn't have to _*_harbor the hope of one day becoming useful"._* =__= Yeah, Itsuki is an asshole. He was basically even more jealous then his party members.
@@gokuandmario4ever Nah, he wasn't influenced by the curse series in this situation. That was all from his own naturally inborn sense of pride. Nothing any of those three do has anything to do with the curse series until the Turtle Arc.
@@MrDibara To be fair, if you know Itsuki's backstory, it does make sense why he believes that. If you ask me, the best-written characters are those who are moulded by their pasts.
They screwed up that scene and robbed Motoyasu of one of his few decent guy moments and Naofumi of a badass moment, Itsuki kicked her out because it was her idea that ended up winning them the battle, so, he made up that she "Broke a valuable relic" because he wasn't man enough to just kick her out. Motoyasu caught up to her first and was trying to genuinely help her, Naofumi thought otherwise until Motoyasu said he was trying to help and that Itsuki's behavior was worrisome, a concern Ren also raised, Motoyasu decided to let Naofumi handle it, he couldn't get her to open up however, so, he went to Motoyasu's room to ask for more details, talked to Rishia again, put 2 and 2 together, got pissed and went to confront Itsuki, kicking the door to his room open, he asked Itsuki a few questios but got fed up with him and outright called him a coward, Itsuki threatened to shoot him, and Naofumi goaded him into doing so, the arrows just bounced off while Naofumi was getting closer, Itsuki tried using the Eagle Piercing Shot skill, a skill that pierces Naofumi's defense while having the projection of an eagle around the arrow, Naofumi grabs the eagle by the neck and breaks the arrow, gets on Itsuki's face and says: "You call Rishia weak? HA! And you think you're strong?" before things escalated, Rishia interrupted and tried to commit suicide only to be stopped by Firo and Naofumi who was running after her, Naofumi proposed she joined his team, she says she still loves Itsuki, to wich Naofumi replies he doesn't care what she does, but asks if she really is ok leaving things like they are. He then promises to make her stronger so Itsuki will have to admit he needs her, she accepts to join the team and Naofumi plays up his villain persona telling Raphtalia and Firo to "work her to the bone", but Raphtalia says he just likes doing that and is actually a nice guy, much to Naofumi's chagrin.
I just read the light novel part of this and now i know that they left out a really good part. In the light novel noafumi acctually met rishia sobbing and crying. He tried then tried to find out what was going on and found out that she was falsly accusted(even atmitted by a shadow). He got angry at itsuke and had a long discussion in wich he even got attackt by itsuke, and that whole discussion just because he mistreated her. After that she ran away and tried to commit suicide of wich filo saved her. And after that she still wanted to go back to itsuke because he saved her life once.

Not that familiar to Inuyasha. But it is more like Garrus and Shepard, Gai and kakadshi or more like a rival friendship like most shonen protaganists got?
Lecia and Naofumi had an awesome character arc that the anime just glossed over. In the manga Lecia played a very active part in the last wave that literally saved the day. Itsuki couldn't handle the "weakest" member off his party saving the day and refused to let the queen reward her and framed her for breaking a valuable magic accessory so he would have an excuse to kick her out. His loss Naofumi got a brilliant scholar and a once in century magical prodigy, also Lecia is training to be a sage 💗 I wish her the best revenge possible: moving on from Itsuki, success, and someone worthy of her love

Scott Funk They might save that for the second season u never kno
They’re probs gonna save that confrontation for the second season (hopefully there is one).
They could always do an OVA or two.
Lecia: "They called me useless and weak!"
Naofumi: "They called me that too."
This is why Naofumi is the best hero out of the quartet. He has been through a lot of crap since his arrival and has come out on top while regaining his heroism. Rishia (or Lecia as subbed here) WILL become stronger under his guidance.
Denise Lau it’s not even a competition. Here’s a harder question: who’s second best?
@@dragonstouch1042 Ren. Ren is the only other Hero who actually tries to do good.
-
He has his flaws, but most of it stems either from him being a loner and not knowing how to really work in a team (let alone lead one), getting bad info with certain missions (like the dragon fiasco), or being frustrated about how the Shield Hero specifically is so far ahead (basically, he has a lot of trouble wrapping his head around the support guy of all people is outpacing all 3 the others).
-
Even later on when he falls from grace, he and his Curse Series are driven by the desire to make amends to the people he's wronged/let down.
@@jameswest6232 Plus, there's the fact that Itsuki and Motoyasu are horrible influences on him.
You'd think they'd have traded a DPS slot for Healer, at least then only half the cardinal heroes would be useless.

I’m actually really glad naofumi recruited her. Not because she’s cute, but because he knows what she’s going through. She even wanted to commit suicide, until naofumi stepped in and wanted to help her out. Just like raphtalia wanted to help him.
Guess that Penguin costume is going to find a new owner.

Only difference was his was most brutal
Nah he did it to get back a the bow hero in the next 2 arc he keeps complaining about her.
FUUUEEEEE!? D:
I think I'm gonna like her by the time a new story unfolds
I felt the same way i hope the Next seasons don't tone down some of the moments of the LN
As someone who just read through this in the LN, I agree wholeheartedly. It wasn’t a shock because I had watched the show, but it put a whole new light on everything. I hope in Season 2 they get to add the scene of Shield busting down Bow’s door and the ensuing argument, but I doubt we will get to see that now.
does anyone have a link to read the LN for free ?
It woulda taken more episodes, and I think they have only a limites amount of them to produce. Maybe next season
In fairness, I feel the need to point out two things:
1. That confrontation scene might still be coming; and
2. The point of the scene is showing how far Naofumi has come in the healing of his own trauma. He's able to offer her the helping hand and trust she needs immediately, without hesitation. The Naofumi from mid-season was psychologically incapable of such a thing.

I read on the wiki that Itsuki himself framed her because of the influence of the pride weapon series.
Actually, Itsuki was simply aware from the beginning that his party members were setting her up, but he played along and cast her out anyway.
When Naofumi tries to reveal the deceit to him, Itsuki reveals the above and "justifies" it by basically saying _"he was doing her a favor, since _*_people who are hopelessly useless_*_ shouldn't have to _*_harbor the hope of one day becoming useful"._*
