- Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head, features Grammy winning troubadour Lyle Lovett and is one of BJ's most iconic hits. The original version was featured in the 1969 film, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Written by famed duo Hal David and Burt Bacharach, it was a #1 song on Billboard Hot 100 and earned Thomas his third million-selling single and an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Movie goers became re-acquainted with "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" when it was included in the 2004 film, Spider-Man 2.

The singer, a five time Grammy and two time Dove Award winner who has sold more than 70 million records and is ranked in Billboard's Top 50 most played artists over the past 50 years, invites longtime fans and newcomers alike to his living room-or more accurately, The Living Room Sessions, his debut recording for Wrinkled Records featuring intimate acoustic re-imaginings of 12 of his most renowned songs.
Working with famed veteran country music producer Kyle Lehning (Randy Travis, George Strait, Willie Nelson) at Sound Stage Studio in Nashville and backed by a host of Music City's finest sessions musicians, Thomas recorded many of these as duets with a perfectly fulfilled "wish list" of guest artists from different genres. These include pop great Richard Marx "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song", country legend Vince Gill ("I Just Can't Help Believing"), bluesman Keb' Mo' ("Most of All"), Lyle Lovett ("Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head"), rocker Isaac Slade, lead singer of The Fray ("I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry") and producer/songwriter turned popular contemporary standards singer Steve Tyrell ("Rock and Roll Lullaby").
Thomas also vibes on The Living Room Sessions with two lesser known powerhouses, labelmate and renowned Nashville touring and session singer) Etta Britt ("New Looks From An Old Lover") and 20-year-old Broadway and soundtrack phenom Sara Niemietz, who joins Thomas on "Hooked on a Feeling." The Living Room Sessions also includes four solo performances by Thomas that represent a several decade swing in his earlier career: the opening track "Don't Worry Baby" (a Beach Boys classic first covered by the singer in 1977), "Eyes of a New York Woman" (1968) "Whatever Happened To Old Fashioned Love" (a #1 country hit in 1983) and "Everybody's Out of Town" (1970).
One of the keys to making The Living Room Sessions as cozy and warmhearted as its title promises was not over-thinking the process in advance. Realizing that most of these classic tracks lent themselves perfectly to the "unplugged" setting, he trusted Lehning and the Nashville "cats" (Bryan Sutton on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, gut string guitar and dobro, John Willis on electric, acoustic and gut string guitar and dobro, Viktor Krauss on upright bass and Steve Brewster on drums and percussion) to just trust their instincts and do their thing. While bringing a fresh emotional urgency to each song, Thomas mostly kept the arrangements in line with the original, only varying the melody slightly on a select few-including "I Just Can't Help Believing," "Don't Worry Baby" and "Hooked On A Feeling."

It's a pity that our beloved has passed away.
This song reminds me of a time back in '85 or '86 , when my wife and I had won tickets for a twenty person concert that was a promo with a Cleveland radio station. BJ was going to play for this small crowd on a knoll within Cleveland Zoo. It was to be held mid-afternoon on a beautifull sunny day. As we were leaving our house as a last minute thought, I decided to carry my 6 ft multi-colored beach umbrella along, knowing Cleveland weather like I do. Weill as the crowd began to arrive, so did some ominous black clouds. Just as BJ set up a stool and began to open his guitar case, so too did the clouds open up and the rain began to fall. I was one of those slow steady rains that drenched everything. Being the only person in the crowd that had brought along an umbrella, and a 6 ft one at that, I opened it up and held over BJ so he and his guitar woul not get wet. Of courese, being the true gentleman that he is BJ thanked me and asked the small crowd if they wanted him to play antway albiet the rain. It was a unanimous yes and so while BJ was being protected from the rain he gave us a personal concert we were not to forget.. Of course when he sang RAINDROPS, we all sang along with him and it was a truly wonderful time. As he finished his set, the skies opened up and the rain subsided. BJ packed up his guitar and folding stool and while doing so heagain thanked me very sincerely for making it possible for him to be able to play. BJ, if you ever see these words, it truly was my pleasure, as well as all those in attendence. I would hold an umbrealla anyday to be able to hear you sing and play. Thank You BJ for such a great mini-concert. Ronster
