Yeah, rain became our enemy in the Yorkshire Dale's UK caving. We checked the weather for days and went into an unknown hole for us for 30 minutes. The water started to rise knees, waist, and then up to the shoulders just under the arms. Luckily, the last 5 minutes went up if we went forward the downward passage. We would have been drowned.
When we got out, it was sunny and dry, and the sky blue.
It's amazing how dangerous it can be, and we just got put that day. We were taught to keep our cool and not rush or mistakes happen. But we were moving that day.

Chlorine doesn't have a smell, nor does CO2. What does smell are reactions to chlorine (what you associate as the smell of chlorine is actually the byproduct of chlorine, urine, sweat, and other things, but mostly urine). Mark Rober did a great video on it.

Man, I really want to go caving/cave diving/diving someday. Something about being in a small cramped chamber with the noises echoing around me and nothing but the people around you and rock feels so cozy and fulfilling. I don't even think I'd be unhappy if I died in a caving/diving incident. It'd be horrifying and maybe even terrifying for sure, but at least I'd die doing what I love. When I watch these kinds of videos it feels like it calls to me like no other dangerous stupid activity does. I'm deathly afraid of heights, but something about being deep in the Earth feels comforting and safe, even if it were the last time I'd ever venture into mother earths cavities. Returning to the Earth and becoming part of it type shit. We're destined to become one with the Earth, and I just want to love my planet and explore it one day. It's such an amazing rock. I love it. I wanna feel the discomfort from putting a wet suit on, squeeze through tight passages, get laughed at and laugh at my friends. Become experienced in the field and help newcomers find themselves in caving/diving. Do dangerous things, explore uncharted areas. I wanna feel something...
