So glad I came across your videos. Don't know many folks that learn from the best and are willing to share the knowledge and tech others. The ballyhoo prep subtleties on the skin peel back when breaking the bill and the tail prep as well as pressing the hook into the backbone blew my mind as I thought I knew quite a bit on rigging.... Definitely looking forward to finding your other videos. Thanks for all you do and the time you have taken to put these videos together.

Wahoonbox your an inspiration for me I'm in south Florida and since I've watch you vids on rigging ballyhoo with rubber bands I've cut my rigging time in half and landed 7 wahoo in the month of December on my planer and tiagra bent butt! My next step is to make the bridle so I can eliminate the hassle of hand lining a big fish with my shock cord.

wahoonbox awesome video, who r u fishing with now? would you be able to tell me or make a video on how you make the pin rig. Line weight, hook size / style, etc. the biggest problem I have is bending the ballyhoo around the hook. The shank always ends up too long for the hole and I’ve gotta slice the belly to get the hook to sit right. I don’t know if I’m pulling the eye to far back in the gills or if I need a larger hook etc. thanks!

This is a very informative video for off shore bait rigging. I have been looking to find detailed instruction on the rubber band pin rig.
    Thank you!

I don't know why it took me so long to find your channel, I just subscribe, Im heading out in the morning so its to late to redo my ballyhoo the right way. I will watch the other videos at a later date but I'll ask to questions now, do you break the back on your ballyhoo? the second question do you push the insides out before you rig? Thanks

Just curious. You didn't de turd or break the back up. Why?

Great question! This is just my way and not the only way- When a ballyhoo is alive and swimming he has turds in him- right? :) I do break the backbone at the tail but leave the turds in. The turds hold/secure my hook shaft in tight- stuff hooked- I want my hook rigid in gut so that I get no hook roll on a big bite. I let my track record 35 years as a mate speak for itself
