- The Banyaruguru tribe were formally Baganda. They migrated from Buganda after the murder of Kabaka Jjunju over 100years ago and moved west. As they moved, they carried along the buganda traditions and norms; picked traditions along the way throught the greater bunyoro Kitara Kingdom. Further west, some of them failed to move anymore and remained in an area called Kitagwenda . They finally settled in area called Bunyaryguru which is in Ankole. Their behaviours, traditions, norms are a mixture of Baganda, banyoro, Batooro, Banyankole, Bakonjo and Bakiga, and so is their dance. they are traditionally hunters and love bush meat especially the hippo. their singing and dacing revolves around celebrations and story telling of thier succesiful hunt, harvests and local brew tasting gathering. very lucrative and energetic dance
