From what I've seen of him he has all the tools to get to the top, along with being a top bloke with a good head on his shoulders.

as others have said in the comments Tom is so grounded and has such a great perspective of the fight game... BUT, he definitely doesn't realise how marketable he is. Everyone likes a lean heavyweight, Black Belt on the ground AND excellent in front of the cameras. If he keeps going the way he has been he will be a superstar champion or not!

A brilliant prospect with a good head on his shoulders! I'll be very shocked if Tom doesn't touch UFC gold before it's all said and done.
Hes got no chance of touching heavywieght gold hes to small I think hell loose to volkov but if not he wont get past the top of the division...hell drop down to light heavywieght after a couple of losses and has a mich getter chance but even still tough !!!!! And his skills are good not world class level :) imo ofcourse lol....the minute he meets someone who can wrestle/snapjitsu we will see a similar story to Darren till :(

While I haven't seen all of his fight, I've seen a few and I can't remember him really struggling at all. I think he'll go far. Would love to see a British champ but I really don't see anyone taking the belt from Ngannou.

Tom's going to be sitting there for once the top few in the queue have sorted out the fall-out in the division, and I'm stoked for when that title shot happens
At one point people thought Miocic was unbeatable too, as they also did Cain Velasquez. In the end theres always somebody else on the horizon as far as the UFC heavyweight title belt goes. Ngannou has only defended the belt once.

I think aspinal will win volkov hasn't looked great recently and him going the distance with Greg Hardy has aged really badly

@@canismajoris6733 yea dude… People say Gane is the best moving heavyweight but idk about that… Him and Aspinall are different styles of movement I guess but still man. Aspinall is fast as hell while bouncing around, great foot movement, and throws fast vicious combos and hits hard af. And he’s got those kind of “hard” punches that are Mike Tyson like. It’s like Francis Nganu is like strength based power, Aspinall is like speed power. Awesome. I’m super excited about him. Only one I’m more excited about right now is Chimaev

What about his skills? He's such an accurate and technical striker, and he's shown he can grapple too. Greg Hardy is confident but an atrocious fighter.

The next generation is starting to take over. Aspinall and Gane move insanely well. They look like all the fighters in the other divisions, but just bigger and stronger.

I'm definitely rooting for Drago but if Aspinall wins then all the best to him. He's young, athletic & maybe the future of the division. Does he beat Ngannou right now? No but he can only get better. He's not 30 yet. Alexander has the power & technique but is slow. Aspinall is quick for such a big guy.

I sort of like Volkov in this spot, but I'm hoping that I'm wrong. I really like Aspinall.
I would have liked to have seen Tom get someone else before making this leap, but it is what it is. For what it's worth I always agreed with his logic of fighting Blagoy Ivanov back in the day.
This is a great match up for Tom. I see him winning comfortably. Will probably fight for the title next year.
