Oh I remember Wattpad, OG days before they became infested with Ads. Those were the good days.
Haha I used to love wattpad! Haven’t been on in years, but that might be a good thing if it’s gone downhill. ☹️
Your way of talking is so sweet and l also love your book reviews. The books that you've mentioned in the video looks really really interesting😁😁😁😁
Aw thank you so much!! I appreciate the sweet comment! 🥺🖤
@@ErinMegan ❤️❤️😊😊😊
It's like I was destined to stumble upon your channel! I just finished Brother and loved it so much! Was wanting to read more of Ania Ahlborn's work but couldn't decide where to start, then this video pops up! 2 years later but still happy I'm here nonetheless lol
Definitely going to check out some of the books from this list, they all sound pretty interesting. Great video!
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Thanks for watching! :)
Love your voice and personality so I subbed! 😉🙃
Hey thanks so much! 😊
Penpal was really, really good, one of the first book-length horror stories I’ve read. The whole atmosphere of it is so unique and I remember feeling so weird afterwards. It didn’t help that I read it all in one of those weird days during school break where I’d woken up too late, just a bit before sunset, and so the mood of the book was so easy for me to sink into. The whole experience was really unique and dreamy like.
THANK YOU THE CELLAR IS SO GOOD AND I DO NT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE HATE IT
I know it’s so upsetting, I thought it was soooo good!!
i ordered it yesterday and i should be getting it in about an hour! i love natasha’s books and im so excited to read it
100% agree on "Needful Things", it's like he kept everything which works and threw out all that doesn't, mastering all he's done. Norris Ridgewick is my homeboy.
Yes!! Exactly, it was the perfect amount of descriptions and length for me.
Can you/have you done a video on fiction books involving cults? Could be supernatural or not, I would certainly want to hear those recommendations.
I have not, but that would be awesome! I will definitely do a video on that! Thanks for the suggestion! ☺️
Head Full of Ghosts was one of my favorite books ever. I recommend it to everyone who asks me what they should read. I'm currently reading Paul Tremblay's 'Cabin At The End Of The World' and he certainly does have a way of combining psychology and the supernatural. I'm a Psychology student so I absolutely love his work.
It really is an excellent book, I can imagine why it’s your favorite! I haven’t read anything else by him, but I’m sure his other books are good! I have a psych degree, so I’m always draw to psychological stuff as well.
New here love this channel! Always looking for new books! Thank you Erin
Hi! Thanks so much for being here!
I'm writing this before I've watched all of this video and part two so please forgive me if you mention any of these 😅 my horror favs, or the horror books that have scares me the most, that I can recommend are The Lockwood and co series (middlegrade but honestly has some of the scariest and most tense supernatural horror scenes, but it's goofy sometimes as well. I loved it and was honestly so scared sometimes but loved it!), dark matter and thin air (by michelle paver), the haunting of hill house, and the ted the caver creepypasta!
So glad to have found another horror fan, now i'm excited for your recommendation!! 😁
No worries! You don’t have to apologize for that! The only one I know that you mentioned was the haunting of hill house, so I’ll have to check out the others! I’ve been wanting to get into more creepypastas, so I’ll have to check that one out! Thanks for the recommendations! ☺️
I’m so happy you found my channel, I love meeting new horror fans, it’s my favorite part of having this channel! 💗
I read a bunch of books from your list so far. I LOVED Needful Things in particular. It was such a huge book and i raced through it. I bought Kin which i am going to read next and i'm so psyched
Yay! I’m glad you love Needful Things! I feel like it’s such an underrated King novel, it’s so good. Oh, you’re in for a treat with Kin. That book is a RIDE!
If you haven't, I recommend Madeleine Roux books. Asylum, Catacomb, and Sanctum.
They aren't necessarily scary, but it's about a teen, Dan. He goes to a college/university I can't recall, turns out it was an old Asylum, then he meets two people along the way, it's crazy. There's twist, almost an over-excessive amount in my opinion, but thats what makes the books so, so good.
Also, you deserve way more hype, you're voice is calming, I'm a new sub. And reallt only 543 subscribers, honestly you're amazing
Oh wow, that sounds so good! I’ll have to add them to my list to check out, thanks so much for the recommendation :)
Also, thank you so much. That is really so sweet of you to say and I appreciate it so much! 💗
@@ErinMegan Oh my god you replied, I hope you enjoy them!
Also, I don’t know if anyone said it already, but Needful Things was made into a movie in 1993. I just found that out while looking at the book on Amazon.
Yup! I knew that, but I meant to say was an updated movie haha the old one is not good and I felt like it didn’t do the book justice!
I've just recently read The Butterfly Garden and in my opinion it was very good and very very well written, don't get me wrong it is a little sickening but I like the phycological plot of it
added them all to my want to read on goodreads. thank you!
Aw yay! I hope you really like them!
Starts at 1:34
My TBR just grew!!! Thank you!
Makeup and horror books and movies are right up my alley. Exceptions are: no rape, no animal cruelty, and no super gorey stuff. I too like a happy ending❤❤❤
Me too! My two favorite things. 💜 I try and let you guys know when books contain rape/sexual assault, animal cruelty, and gore. I don’t want anyone to be shocked when reading it. I will be the guinea pig. ❤️
Sure enjoyed your video there's a couple books on there I decided I'm going to read now
Girl I needed this video - I am currently reading Kin ! So I feel like we will have similar taste ♡ thank you
Ooh I love that one!! I hope you find something that you love! 🖤
I've listened to the Penpal on Nosleep podcast several times! It's just amazing!
I completely agree! It’s such a cool and fresh story!
If you haven't read House of Leaves, you should. Idk if it would be considered horror, but it deals with a house that's bigger on the inside than on the outside. Plus it's from the pov of a man who found the writings of another man on a film about the impossible house, so alot of layers and different stories. The book is wack.
I actually bought it a few weeks ago! I haven’t dived in yet, haha it’s a little intimidating, but I’ve heard it’s great! It’s definitely a crazy looking book and I’m excited to see what the hype is about.
There is a film adaptation of Needful Things from the 90's. Check it out
I’ve seen it, didn’t like it. I was trying to say I wanted a newer adaption!
I just finished Within These Walls, my very first Ania Ahlborn~ so while I was reading this in the dark, on my bed, one of my poster flew right in front of my face and freaked me out! I blamed it on the book 👀 lol it was good~~
Nooooo, I would’ve freaked out!! 😩 Hahah, I’m glad you enjoyed the book though, she’s an awesome horror author!
There was a Needful Things movie that came out in 1993 and stars Ed Harris and Max Von Sydow
Yeah I know! I want an updated one is what I meant, I’ve seen it and didn’t like it.
Please 🙏do a remake updated version of this video! Love ❤your recommendations
I can definitely make an updated version!! I have so many more I can talk about.
Needful things has a film i think
I know, I meant to say that I wish they had a newer one! That ones so old and doesn’t do the book justice. 😭
Ooooh ok then I really agree. If they do it right a remake would be so good.
I completely agree! I feel like this book is so underhyped though. 😭
penpal was amazing and if you like that type of nosleep story try borrasca and the whistlers, both have sensitive subjects but are nosleep classics that totally deserve recognition
Oh my gosh, thank you!!! I really love that whole nosleep vibe. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll definitely be checking them out!
@@ErinMeganand if youre looking for something else i would totally do the spiral staircase by Ethel Lina White, its my favorite book of all time with twists and turns and spooks everywhere!
I’m always looking for books, so I appreciate it! I love books like that, so I’ll have to put it on my list to read!
@@ErinMegan no problemo!
So many Ania Ahlborn books I need to try her out. I always enjoy going back to old videos to see how tastes change. No Darcy Coates yet lol...
Hahahahaha yes this one of my first real big videos on here, I’d say 2-3 years ago now. I didn’t give Darcy a try until a year ago!
When you started talking about The Cellar I was thinking of The Butterfly Garden and then you showed it!
They’re both soooo good! I need more books like them, definitely both unique and right up my alley!
i read im thinking of ending things in a span of hours, because i was actually so scared that i couldnt put it down. like im the person who goes to horror movies and likes them. but that book, scared the hell outta me. 10/10 would reccomend (except for *** ******)
It’s definitely such a unique experience for a horror book, like nothing I ever read! At first the beginning was slow and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but it speeds up so fast and you never see any of it coming!
woohoo! 200th subscriber! love your love of horror!
Ahh thank you so much!! 💛💛💛💛
I know I'm late, but another good series is Asylum by Madeleine Roux. They're more of the supernatural/psychological type of scary. Highly recommend.
Never too late for a recommendation! I believe someone else told me to check those out, I’ll have to get them soon!
Can you make some review videos on Indian authors books
Sure! I can definitely look into doing that!
I don’t know if it was just me, but you made needful things sound like the best thing in the world so now I have to get it.😙
That is so sweet!! Thank you for saying that, it made me day! 🥰
I LOVEEE THE LONG WALK
Me too! Such an underrated book!
I agree that Stephen King’s books can be long, drawn out, and filled with unnecessary details (IT being a great example).
I just finished Within These Walls and i am SHOOKETH. What an amazing whirlwind. So creepy & a great psychological horror novel. I also bought Merciless at a used bookstore, I'm just working my down the list, I think we have really similar taste in books :)
I’m so so so happy you liked the book! It was such a crazy book and not what I expected at all, Ania is a great writer. Hehe, I hope you enjoy them all!!! :)
the movie starring Max Von Sydow and Ed Harris was pretty good but I did enjoy the book more
Yes! I agree with you! The movie was decent, but the book is really great!
rose rupard
Oh please tell me they don’t skin the dog in the book! I really want to read it, but that part made me cry in the movie.
I enjoy King’s short story collections a lot more than the long, drawn-out novels. Some of his novels I really love though, but I have to be in a certain mood.
LadyScarface Angel That book part was pretty gruesome in my opinion! 😭 I thought it was worse than the movie!
The only book I've read on this list is A Head Full of Ghosts so all of these are added to my TBR! Can't read enough Horror
I've definitely been wanting to check out Needful Things
Thay make a movie for Needful Things its really good 😊
I’ve seen the movie and didn’t like it! I was trying to say I wanted a remake haha!
Try this horror murder mystery Killer Intentions: Run. My friend introduced it to me and I loved it.
Oh cool! Thank you! I’ll check it out!
@@ErinMegan "My friend" lol. He's talking about his own book!
Mike Sullivan hahahaha didn’t even catch that.
@@ErinMegan Lol yeah, I thought it sounded kinda funny, so I gave it a quick Google. I understand promoting your book across different videos, but at least promote it honestly! :"D
Mike Sullivan exactly! I’m always down to check out new authors, I just want them to tell me it’s their book and be straight up. Haha, thanks for catching it though! :)
i love needful things. one of my favorites
Me too! Such an underrated SK novel!
just ordered Penpal! looking forward to it n hmmm as a book recommendation, try The Fifth Wave trilogy. and if you've already read it, let's have a review. i personally loved it :)
I hope you love it!! Okay! I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of it, just never read it, but I’ll definitely check it out! Thank you! :)
@@ErinMegan so I just finished Penpal AND OHMY GODD!! i mean i guess i am still missing something about Chris and who exactly was that man?? helppp
Aryan Anand SPOLIERS- so the man was the narrators penpal, we don’t know exactly who he was, but he had been spying on the main character all his life and was obsessed with him. Chris? I don’t remember a Chris, are you talking about Josh? The main characters best friend who went missing?
@@ErinMegan nope. Chris was Mrs. Maggie's son as well as the guy who released his balloon the first out of ecxitement. The stalker n obsession theme is pretty clear by him dying Josh's hair dark brown. damn this book was great!
Aryan Anand gotcha! I do remember him, I don’t really know what was up with Chris, I’d have to read it again and probably pay more attention haha. Yeah, other than that the book is pretty ambiguous! It was amazing though!
I love Natasha Preston she is awesome. Not really horror but more mystery. Was a great book she has the second book to it but only on wyatt. If u like her read cold Charlotte. It's for teens but very good.
I would definitely consider her ya horror, but I can see why some would only consider her a mystery! Thanks for the suggestion!
@@ErinMegan thank u my first book of hers was celler loved it! Then basement and u will be mine are all good
Supposedly, mr king was disappointed in his book or this movie needful things. I enjoyed both and max von sydow kills it as the devil. One of the best actors in my opinion, that kills (in a good way) whatever roll he's in each and every time💯💯💯💯💯
Yeah, I see what you mean. The movie was not my favorite, but I know what you mean!
I wish I liked King's writing - the stories seem great!
I know what you mean! The two I mentioned are the only ones I could probably read more than once! Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video! Now I want both Stephen King books. Added them to my list 😉
Thank you! They’re both really great books, I hope you enjoy them! ☺️
read and comment about Caligo Andrea's saga, please!!
Okay! Thank you for the recommendation!
Your voice is beautiful. I watched the video twice. :)
Thank you so much :)
@@ErinMegan welcome so much. :) To be true I didn't watched it twice, like it's kind of obvious. Nevertheless, you have a pretty voice. 💘
Brother messed me up last summer!! So soooo good though and I usually don’t do cannibalism.
And I jumped the gun on my comment because I read kin last summer too!
Hahah! Both of them are so intense! I loved it, but it also freaked me a little bit! Kin was definitely gruesome for me. I’m grossed out by cannibalism, but also fascinated by it?? Lol
Read the lost by Natasha Preston it’s so good
I’ve been meaning to pick that one up!!! It’s on my list!
Love halloween 🎃
Me too!!!
Do you have other channels, cause i just discovered you. A makeup channel perhaps?❤
Nope, just this channel! I usually upload makeup content on Monday’s and Wednesday’s, with Friday’s as a book review! Sometimes Wednesday’s are book related, just depends on what video I want to upload. ☺️
can't say horror is my normal genre, but im reading everything i can in quarantine lol, so i'll give these a look :)
Hahaha, I know what you mean! I hope you can find something to cure the boredom. ☺️
No movie for needful things, but you got a Rick and Morty episode, so that’s cool right???
That is true!! I guess I’ll take that haha
Skip to 1:40.
why don't she show the whole book? I couldn't figure out which book she was talking about .
Well because it’s an old video and I didn’t know you couldn’t see. However, the titles and authors are all mentioned so you can look them up yourself.
Needful Things was made into a movie, but it was disappointing. Well, it wasn't horrible, but nothing compared to the book.
Yeah I know haha I meant to say a remake because I hated it.
I really liked a book called The last Days of Jack Sparks.
Ooh great! I’ll add it to my list, thank you!
I loved The Long Walk!
It’s such a good one!!!
Omg I love horror books and I’ve never heard of any of these! Barnes & Noble here I come 😅
You definitely need to check these out then! Let me know if you do! ❤️❤️
Horror books.......First thing I remember is #Stephen King .
King is supposedly the crown holder for horror! At least, that’s what a lot of people think.
I loved Penpal.
I love it too! Such a great book!
Read the lesser dead by Christopher buehlman. It’s so good!
Thank you!!!! I’ll add it to my list! :)
If you like really disturbing and unsettling books, check out Bentley Little! The Resort was the first one I read by him and it was so messed up that I needed more! Every single one of them that I've read, I loved!
OOH thank you!!!! I needed some new horror, so this is much appreciated! Will definitely be checking out his books! ☺️
@@ErinMegan He is definitely great! I feel like he is such an underrated horror author! I never hear anyone talk about him, but I've been reading him for years! Legit every book I've ready by him had left me physically uncomfortable, but in a good way 🤣.
Sasha Tandberg This excites me! I love finding authors that not a lot of people know about! I’m gonna go book shopping this weekend, fingers crossed I can get some of his books! 😍 You bet I’ll be doing book reviews on them!
@@ErinMegan good luck!! I hope you end up loving him as much as I do!!! His writing is similar to King, but it's not as drawn out. They are actually huge fans of each other too, which is super neat!
Also, Nick Cutter is a great horror author! I've loved all of his too, but The Troop is my fav! Little Heaven is about a cult too....it's a little slow in the beginning but once it gets going it's super good!
Yes a Book tuber. Consider me a new subscriber
Well, hi! Welcome to the family! ☺️
@@ErinMegan Glad to be welcomed! 😁
read house of the judge by Bram Stoker. oldie but goodie about rats
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check it out.

I read The Cellar. It was MESSED up. Highly.
Yes! Such an insane book and story!
there's a movie of needful things
I know, but it’s old. I want them to remake a new one.
' zgijzg
I love u horal book
30 seconds in and she hasn't even reached the first one. Nor even stated any parameters.
Yup! I like to talk.
needful things DOES have a movie.
Yes I’m aware. I was trying to say a NEW movie. I accidentally said it didn’t in the video.
@@ErinMegan i would like that as well
I didn’t really like the cellar
Sorry that you didn’t like it!
Hi I am carol from England I am new on uour Channel.
Hi Carol! Nice to meet you!
You are so beautiful girl and thank you for these recommendations 😍😍 new subscriber

Love your channel & videos!! Definetely need to read those books😍 new subbie here, hope we can support each other!💗xx
Thanks babe! Love to support each other! 💗💕
🤓 “That’s a whole nother thing” - no such word as “nother”. Correct grammar: “It’s a whole *other* thing”.
Sorry, sorry, sorry that I’m a grammar stickler!
Great vid. I added almost all to my Audible list.
Yup, I know! I combined another and other into one word haha. I do that a lot because i talk fast.
Thanks though! 😊
You're sooo cute
Thank you!! ☺️💗
Plz make your videos a bit shorter
I appreciate the feedback, but I like making longer videos! I’m sure you can find a similar video that is shorter.
