+Mireneusz1 you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
The actual movie is extremely close to the book! I have rarely seen that in film adaptations, so greatly appreciated that I could feel the essence of the novel in this film.
+Ray Raye plz you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
Yes it is! I am not a fan of long movies, unless it keeps me involved. Engaging indeed. It's been 10 years since you've made this post LOL, I hope you see this because I agree!
One of the most moving scenes was unfortunately deleted from the final cut- an extended scene with the Jude and the Southern woman alone with her child. I believe it could of garnered more awards if it was included. MUST SEE!
An absolutly breath taking film that you will remember for a lifetime... If you agree with me in thinking that this is one of the best movies of our era, then you must defenetly watch "Leyends of the Fall" with Brad Pitt.
my favourite fim in the world....what a love....very heart touching acting of AIDA & INMAN... Beautiful locations....a mindblowing love story.....congrats to the actors and co-workers of this movie....super
I love and live for movies like that....gone with the wind, australia, legends of the fall etc........I just love movies like that.......people need such movies.
Just finished watching it ,very recommend to everyone ! It's not just a movie about cruel war and endless love story .Still remember vividly what Ada (Nicole )said to Inman (Jude ), "War makes somethings pointless ".How pitiful to see when citizen killed citizen (people killed people ):(( but there were still some people helped another one willingly too regardless of how dangerous they faced ~And we should learn from the history, the past ,stop war, stop bleeding ,no victim ,no sacrifice anymore.Peace is precious ! Sorry for my poor english><
The ONLY correct trailer for this movie. All the other ones are devoid of the emotion. The music/editing/pacing/clips in this one are truly the powerful elements I remember from when the movie first came out.
+Tim Collien plz you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
+yusuf iganlı plz you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
Why do you keep copying and pasting this comment? It's a matter of opinion. You may have thought the movie boring but it captured the darkness and despair of the time period perfectly with the love of the main characters being their only hope. Great acting and historical accuracy makes it a masterpiece for anyone who is interested in history and American culture. It was extremely well made and entertaining for me
It's my favorite movie, but I can relate to it. I read the book in college. The movie came out in late 2003, when Operation Iraqi Freedom started. I was 7 months pregnant and my husband was deployed. Since it was early in the war there was little to no communication. Maybe 4 phone calls with a giant lag time so we would talk over each other. Someone was on the line with us making sure no mission information or casualties were shared. We had a limit of 15 minutes to talk. If one person shared too much info the entire system was shut down. It happened at least twice. We live in Appalachia and have a similar setting as this movie. My family has been here for a long time. My great, great grandfather served in a Union militia in the Civil War. Just so many similarities and a powerful story that makes me cry like a baby. When my husband came home he was greeted by a walking and talking child he had yet to meet. He had a photo of her on her birth date. He kept it in his helmet. Through sweat the photo of her was barely visible, but it kept him going. Sorry that you can't feel it, but this is a great movie. It is forever seared into my memory. Now I have to go cry. Forgot how intense that time felt.
ooooh, now i really want to watch it!!!!!!!!! ugh, i promised myself i wont watch sad movies since Titanic, Atonement and Public Enimies!!! and now, i KNOW i will watch it and i will cry like a baby in it!!! :/
this has got to be the best trailer ever for a very good movie. It gave me chills too, and I've seen it before. Very well acted, particuarly from Jude Law and Ray Winstone
this is one of my all time favorite movies many people didn't see it because its advertised as a love story but its much more than that its awsome! and i like the love story in it
I found it strange that this movie takes place in the south yet so many of the actors and actresses aren't even American! Jude Law is British, Nicole Kidman is Australian, and Ray Winstone (Teague) is also British.
DVFDrinkOrDie Of course it's American ! But anything for a person of world's largest democracy to get from a movie based on world's oldest democracy? That's what I meant.
+DVFDrinkOrDie you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
I love this movie. I don't know why. I'm not usually the type to like romantic movies, but this one appeals to me, it really does. It's beautiful beyond imagination.
it is quite romantic war movie, when l was senior high student,l was recalled to my high school do some service of cleaning the floor, when the teacher said that we had a holiday, l didn't know where to go but saw the movie in the theater, l was almost touched by the snow scene and beautiful music ,after nearly 20 years,l still remember the love story, the soldier went back to his hometown and kept his promise with Nicole Kidman 😀
Woah, this was out in 2003!? I remember going to the movies to see it... I was only nine years old? O.o Wow... Whenever I hear the song "White Flag" by Dido I get reminded of this movie. Don't know why...
"They call this war The cloud of their land but they made the weather and then they're standing on the rain and ask Why is raining?" This part is so touching!!!
Really love this movie. I give actors 100% good. I watch this movie many time. This part are history what happen in the old days. Lots War back then. Yes I agreed Judd Law is cute. War sad see all men die old days. Great show, lots hard work put this movie. Together. Movie director put lots hard hours put this movie together. Lots old history fit this movie. I am still trying to find one on DVD blue ray I love sound music 100% I can listen to it on movie or on cd player. Greatest songs on eart
This I thought was one of the best Civil War era films I have ever seen. Renée Zellweger was my favorite in this.....That's what a real country girl is like....sorry Daisy duke.
John Huston made a pretty good adaptation of "Red Badge of Courage" in 1951. The studio took it out his hands and cut it to remove some anti war sentiments, but there's one really great scene where a commander promises to share his supper with six different groups of soldiers after a battle. There's also Glory (1989) by Edward Zwick, and a great movie about Gettysburg made in 1993.
"They call this war a cloud over the land. But they made the weather then they stand in the rain and say it's raining!'
So true and so powerful
One of the best movies ever....
+Mireneusz1 you have to answer i didnt find this movie interesting beside the last scene of the movie ... i mean can you tell me what was special in that movie ? like you saw the Legends of the Fall 1994 that was true master piece ... but i didnt find anything interesting in cold mountain
This movie was deep, almost like Australia, it might seem boring specially to more younger people but its one hell of a good movie
+Daniel Shamu Not boring, not at all
+Antonio Ziogas I'm 17 and found this to be far from boring
i actually loved it when i first saw it
Australia was damn good.
The actual movie is extremely close to the book! I have rarely seen that in film adaptations, so greatly appreciated that I could feel the essence of the novel in this film.
This is definitely one of my favorite movies!
A masterpiece! It is my favourite movie, taking into consideration that there's only ONE favourite movie. It must be seen, can not be described!!
and everybody got to see how beautiful Romania really is, I am proud of my country
I love this movie!!! so many emotions, beautifully acted, simply amazing
As someone who loved this book, the movie did it credit.
omg i cried so hard at the end of this movie!

The war scene at the start of the film is just epic! Especially the music.
One of my favorite movies... =)

"Snow Falling on Cedars"- Another good one
One of the most moving scenes was unfortunately deleted from the final cut- an extended scene with the Jude and the Southern woman alone with her child. I believe it could of garnered more awards if it was included. MUST SEE!
I'm usually not to keen on southern movies, but this is one of the two I actually like, along with Sling Blade.
An absolutly breath taking film that you will remember for a lifetime...
If you agree with me in thinking that this is one of the best movies of our era, then you must defenetly watch "Leyends of the Fall" with Brad Pitt.
This is one of my favorite movies it was a real good movie.
The film was shot in Romania.
Just look how wonderful the landscape is.
SUPERB MOVIE!
I love this movie !
My favorite movie - also by Jude Law :)
He plays very good and Reneé and Nicole, too :)
Wow, it's like there hasn't been a comment here in 5 years!
Huggbees was right, this move does look like it's made for women
The letter sent to Inman was really beautiful, when Ada says "Come back to me. Come back to me, is my request"... that's heartbreaking.
To me very deeply touching movie. Saw it twice and I am sure there will be more times.
Magdalena Arciszewska
You’re passionate like me.
what I love about this flick is that its such an episodic on the road film
One of the rare times in film where you see three Best Actress winners in the same film.
One of my favourite movies!

Nicole and Jude- shockingly beautiful in this! STUNNING!
Heidi Ivy If only she was nominated for the Oscar just like renee zellweger.
That would be a hard choice to make. I loved both, were beautiful and touching the heart and soul. Jude Law is the best!
very good movie. love the plot, the music, the actors, the lines!
this has got to be the best trailer ever for a very good movie. It gave me chills too, and I've seen it before. Very well acted, particuarly from Jude Law and Ray Winstone

Awesome movie! What's the song that starts at 1:33. It's beautiful! =)
Zellweger, is a Southern woman being from Texas and originally speaks Southern, her native accent. Great actress in this movie, fits the part well...
I found it strange that this movie takes place in the south yet so many of the actors and actresses aren't even American! Jude Law is British, Nicole Kidman is Australian, and Ray Winstone (Teague) is also British.
You have to see this. Such a good movie
Anything in movie for a person living across an ocean (m an Indian )?
Aditya
Not sure i know what you mean but this is an American historical drama taking place during America's civil war.
DVFDrinkOrDie Of course it's American ! But anything for a person of world's largest democracy to get from a movie based on world's oldest democracy? That's what I meant.

@velociti92 Which battle of Tennessee are you referring to? It's a terriable thing when any ancestor is fighting against one another in war.
this is my favorite movie of all time
"They call this war The cloud of their land but they made the weather and then they're standing on the rain and ask Why is raining?" This part is so touching!!!
I love any film featuring the Civil War!
I liked North and South also. It's just a little heavy on the love story stuff but the battles are actually good.
"come back to me" Lol that just reminds me of Atonement now :p (but I liked this much better).
Really love this movie. I give actors 100% good. I watch this movie many time. This part are history what happen in the old days. Lots War back then. Yes I agreed Judd Law is cute. You can’t beat Nicole and Renée in the same film.
@sexyionela88 Really? It was filmed in Romania? how do u know that?
I am so behind the times--I totally missed this! How sad...
What a horrible war, but such a beautiful movie, sad at the ending,
They made the weather and then they stand in the rain and say it's raining!
is this any good?
