Synopsis: Mansik, who’s been a single dad for seven years, dreams of getting her daughter a birth certificate. But there’s devastating news. The Vietnamese woman who agreed to let him use her name on the marriage and birth certificates backs out at the last minute despite the $20,000 he offered. Just when Mansik’s about to get very dejected, a woman named Mihui serendipitously walks into his life. Will Mansik manage to realize his dream of getting his daughter Yena a birth certificate?

Kim hee won did a very good job on this role. He usually played a villain role. But in this special drama he did put a heart warming act. Super good!

Many KBS One Episode drama special can touch the viewers' emotional buttons, to make them realize Korean society is NOT 100% lovey dovey fantasy (oppa, saranghaeyoh, bogosipwoyo) but contain HARDSHIPS
Indeed. Lately I was enjoyed this kind of Drama Special rather than those long episode dramas. Love the earthy, real-life vibes.

This story was ABSOLUTELY TOUCHING, LOVING and EMOTIONAL 😭😭😭😭 I LOVED all of the acting ESPECIALLY the children 🥰😍🥰
The end of the story was so AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!! And the high point was finding out that the little girl changed the story for her "mom"!!!

정말 요새같은 드라마가 아니라 가슴에 울림을 줍니다
I happened to see this on tv and fell in love with it. The storybook scene was so touching it made me tear up. I came here to see if it had another episode but unfortunately it's just a special which makes the abrupt ending very confusing.
-Is the dad the actual dad? At the end he says that she's fatherless on paper.
-Did the dad submit the birth certificate with Mihui's information? I thought he was hesitant because he didn't want to force Mihui but did he change his mind after seeing how Mihui had corrected the form with her real information?
-The conversation at the end also talked about legal fees so it made me question if he used the fake birth certificate or if he petitioned the courts as a single father (which his friend had mentioned earlier in the show).
He did not use the information of Mihui, but he sued the country to admit his daughter as a citizen.(the lawsuit mentioned earlier by his friend.) so, now his daughter is protected by State. but yet, he was not legally recognized as she's father. Because he is legally unmarried person. He seems to be preparing more lawsuits for that. so he mentioned legal fees.
He did not use her actual information. But the real information she left is meaning she opened her heart to men and child. So they go to pick her up.
Yes, He did not force her.^^ i think in this story, the birth registration problem is irrelevant to their love(or marrige) any more.
John N He was happy because the behavior of her correcting the information means that she had opened her mind to him. When she leaves, he tried to ask a question of her to figure out if she has a mind for him but from her reaction, he thought she doesn't have a mind for him so that he could not catch her.. But now that he knows she also had a mind for him, he got a nerve to go get her. He won't use that real information for her daughter before they get to meet again and she agrees to do it of course^^

Really nice story. That little girl was so adorable. Think it would have been better if instead of going for her, she was on bike going back home. It's never to late to change your life, you just have to believe want it bad enough.

이걸 이제 봤어...(VOD로 결제하고 봤어요^^근데 유튜브에 있기에 댓글 남겨보아요..) 제가 희배우님 팬이 되어서 이런 좋은 드라마도 보네요ㅠㅠ..팬이 된지 얼마 안 돼서 나오신 작품들 하나씩 시간 날 때마다 보는중ㅠㅠㅠ근데 어릴 때 이 드라마를 봤다면 이 감성을 못 느꼈을 수도.. 정말 마음이 너무 따뜻해지고.. 새벽에 보고 잤는데.. 다음날 눈 뜨자마자 만식이가 너무 행복했으면 좋겠다는 생각이 막 들더라구욬ㅋ..ㅠㅠ 희원오빠 연기 정말 너무너무..진짜 첫 장면부터 와아 했어요ㅠㅠㅜ 진짜 머리칼부터 스타일까지 어디하나 꾸미지 않은 모습인데도 캐릭터 자체에서 그 촌스러운 말투에서 귀여움과 사랑스러움이 막 뿜어져 나오고...제가 팬이어서가 아니라 정말 만식이 그 자체.... 단편인데 어떻게 그렇게 몰입이 되는 건지 신기해요ㅠㅠ 가끔 영화보면 초반부에 뭔가 그냥 계속 연기하는 거 같다 아직 아닌 거 같다는 느낌이 들다가 후반부에 막 정말 그 캐릭터가 돼있어서 저도 그때서야 몰입하게 되는 때가 있는데 진짜 희배우님은 정말 처음부터ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ 저 이 드라마 너무 사랑하게 될 거 같아요...이 감성 너무 좋아 만식이 너무 사랑해ㅠㅠㅠ진짜 말로 다 표현못해ㅠㅜ...
어제 이거 티비에서 해줬는데 너무 좋더라고요ㅠㅠ😍❤️

KBS 드라마 스페셜 너무 좋지 않나? 예전 베스트셀러 극장부터 이어진 단막극 드라마, 그러나 언젠가부터 자본주의 중심 돈중심의 미니시리즈 개념으로 바뀌면서 예술과 연기 혼이 실린 단막극은 완전히 사라졌는데 그나마 드라마 스페셜이 유일하게 이를 이어감. 이런 단막극의 특징은 소위 몇몇의 스타 중심이라기 보다는 작품과 연기 중심이라 새로운 작가와 연기잘하는 조연들도 새롭게 조명받고 새로운 신인도 많이 발굴돼 일석이조 일석삼조의 효과까지, 옥자에 나온 주인공 미자 안서현양도 여기 드라마 스페셜에서 볼 수 있음
