- The Houston Texans fired head coach & general manager Bill O’Brien yesterday after their 0-and-4 start to the season. O’Brien, who’s been with the club since 2014, had won 4 division titles but never advanced to the AFC Championship game. O’Brien’s moves as GM have also raised eyebrows, including trading away Jadeveon Clowney and DeAndre Hopkins in the past year. It’s been the right move since he tried to hold Deshaun watson back his rookie year. BoB has been on borrowed time for years...
MikeDaOnly23 the only good thing he did for Houston was somehow get DW to sign that long term contract. Now Deshaun can help pick a new staff that will suit him and the offensive weapons around him and maybe JJ can help build a new defense. One thing is for sure it’s good that they did this now, plenty of time to feel out the coaching market

Ownership should’ve dealt with Bill O’Brien after 24-0 so that we don’t ever even entertain the idea of trading Hopkins.

The fact that Texans owner allowed Hopkins to be traded proved to me that they didn’t care about winning a super bowl.
Now that O'Brien is gone there will be no excuse for Watson, it should have been equal pink slips for both of them.

Texans better steal Eric Bieniemy away from Patrick Mahomes
Neither of those people you mentioned are that good. Mahomes has the best TE in football and he was the best before Mahomes. Tyreek hill is the fastest guy in the league and probably fastest of all time. He has always had a good solid defense. Andy Reid is a consistent playoff coach. Mahomes is not that good and has bad decision making but he has the most weapons of anyone in the league. Bieniemy is in the same boat as Mahomes, he has all the weapons, yeah he has some nice plays but he wouldn’t be the same without the weapons he has now.

For one of the only times ever I'm happy with Skip's take. Not enough blame gets put on Bill O'Brien the playcaller. His coaching is just as bad as his GM work.
The other team will literally telegraph blitzes and the Texans don't do anything. Watson definitely has the talent to be an elite QB and very recently I was ready to put him in that category, but now I think he's just a step behind elite. I still have faith that he'll join that group in a couple years, but Watson is currently incapable of calling the right audible to get a quick slant or something in the flat to counter these pressures.
Obviously Bill O'Brien the head coach hasn't done anything to help out Watson in playcalling for years now and that's why the sack total is so high. Good riddance, this was a long time coming.

Texans have been a dumpster fire this past few years, before deshaun got there they did win their division and made the playoffs a few times but it was due to a weak division. If the texans dont turn things around then they are going to waste desahuns career which would be the biggest loss, glad they´re started on that path to turn things around
