For Nikon or in general? I'll try and answer both - In general - for all systems, 3rd party: Sigma 14-24, Sigma 14, Tamron 15-30, Laowa 12 Zero D... On Nikon 14-24, on Canon - EF 16-35 f/4L, RF 15-35, Sony 16-35 G Master 2.8, Olympus/Panasonic Oly 7-14 or Pany 8-16...
I drive an 850 backed up by a 750. But when I go knocking around, it's the 750 with an old (small, tiny) AF-D 35-105. Light, unobtrusive, sharp, and cheap ($200, very clean, out of Japan). I love the 850 for a lot of reasons but I'll never get rid of the 750.
Darren, smart move. I've experienced the same thing with trying to get the same dynamic range with a myriad of cameras. The 750 can pull a totally black shadow up 4 plus stops with no noise. Simply amazing. I found that working with the 750 files you don't have to work as hard in LR to push and pull shadows and highlights as you do with other camera files.
@@sadeqsegaraga8766 it's not a must but highly recommended, you'll get much more out of the raw files. try it out, compare them, it will depend on what you shoot and the intensity of the highlights and shadows in the scene.
Great news, and good to hear your love for a workhorse for under $1000, I have the D850 but just bought a Olympus M1 mii, especially for it's Live Comp mode, Loving it so far and never know I may stay Olympus bound,, enjoyed your experience with the D750 Darren,, thanks, kind regards Trevor
Nice to hear Darren - I'm a D750 hybrid event shooter plus general web and graphic work. I love my D750 but really need to have another camera for backup. I'm trying to decide between the D780 and Z6 - I would have bought the D780 but it doesn't backup video. Now that Canon seem to bringing out two amazing cameras (with two slots) I'll wait a bit longer and see if I should move or if Nikon respond.
Mark Shirley if you need recording to the second card slot, then I might push you towards Sony also. The latest camera body is the A73, the A7R3 and the A7R4 are all very very capable video cameras... I am in wait and see mode with the Canon R5, only because I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. Canon has all these amazing specs for the camera, but they haven’t told us what the price is… Yet :-)
@@DarrenMiles out of the R5 and R6 it's the R6 I'd actually be interested in - but I love Nikon and am hoping it jolts them into action to give us a two card midrange mirrorless.
I'm not into video stuff, and I'm not a pro. FWIW I love my D750 like the first day I bought it. Amazing files. When I want to have better built body in my hands, I grab my good ol' D700. Amazing colours still today. Put good glass on each of these two beasts and you get fantastic shots. I don't feel any need to upgrade to newer bodies.
Great choice, I bought my first one 6 months ago new for a crazy price and I love it. I don't care about my D7200 having a faster shutter speed, I don't care that the screen only tilts one way. I bought it for shooting the stars and aurora and it's excellent for that.
I love my D750, it had the shutter ERR issue that I kinda lived with until I was told there was a recall on it, after I got a Z6. The mirrorless has been a game changer for me but my now refurbished 750 is my main backup.
A good choice, based on your application.24mpx is the sweet spot for a lot of different pro functions including wedding, portraiture and real estate. I have a D850 and D800 but since adding the Z6, I find that I do not need the double-file size and shoot the Z6 90% of the time and the only use of the D8x0 cameras is when art director insists on large files. The lower cost of buying and maintaining a D750 means turning a profit on the purchase is twice as soon. I love the Z bodies even though all my DSLRs had the vertical grip, and the compact size combined with Nikon ergonomic, but no grip with controls, I do not miss the grip at all with such a small camera. The EVF and S lenses are reason enough to shift to the Z6. All the S lenses released so far is a lot better than the same FL on F mount lenses.
i just bought one 2nd hand. just 15,000 clicks on is. This cascaded and then I purchased a 2nd hand 50mm 1.4 and 35 mm sigma all for less than a sony a7iii. ( * edited I've just checked prices ... 70% of the cost of just a body) Coming from mft i'm blown away by the images. moving a red dot for the focusing is fun. i feel like i've gone back two steps with technology but fd 10 steps with creativity. the g85 stays with my gf's teenage boy who is learning photography. thank you darren for your videos.
I have a great deal of respect for your reviews and have made several purchases based on your word. Having been on the fence about what to replace my D750 with I was thinking about buying another one. I love that camera. But there is so much on the market I just could not decide.Thank you I'm going with the one that brought me to the dance.I'm buying another D750.
glad you and yours are well during this national health crisis. i picked up a D750 about six months ago for event work. previously, i never used nikon. so i was building a kit from scratch. i found a used body with 28k from the original owner. all that was missing was the eye cup which seems to be a constant with the D750. my event clients have been thrilled. once (and if) COVID19 because a memory, i am hoping that the D750 will be a solid real estate tool. thanks for the effort and the sharing. stay well.
I used to shoot with a D750 and D810 but the D750 always seems to be the camera I pick whenever I want to shoot specially if I know lowlight is going to be encountered. It is a workhorse camera still very capable until today. I now shoot with Sony primarily but the D750 will be a legendary camera for wedding/event nikon shooters.
I have the D750 with grip and love the quality I get. It is not my day to day carry around camera but it is what I take when I need to get work done. You are right the buffer is not that great and I plan on adding a D4 to the mix. My main problem with the D780 is no grip.
More so for Canon glass than Nikon, the Sigma MC-11 works pretty well with Canon lenses, but I've yet to find one that does the same with Nikon glass, are you aware of one? Because I have a ton of Nikon glass I'd like to use on my Sony's.
@@DarrenMiles Sorry, no, I'm still looking for that answer as well. I'm thinking of buying an A7Riii, but it hinges upon knowing how well it'll work with my existing lenses. But I made my comment before watching thru to the end. Two eye-openers there - 1) You got 600,000 out if that body, that's mind-blowing. And that's a GOOD friend, who can find you another D750 with just a few thousand clicks. There is something to be said for picking up a camera and your fingers landing on all the familiar places.
great video, great explanation - and your facial expression after replacing the old 750 with the new 750 is priceless. It just shines "yeah, got it, search is over" :-) have plenty of fun with it.
Great job, Darren. I always learn a lot from your videos. I've been a photographer for just over two years, shooting real estate. Started with a Panasonic GH4, now using the G9. I have the Oly 7-14 and the Leica 8-18 lenses. The G9 was a noticeable improvement from the GH4 for stills. I'm very happy with my G9, but nice to know the Nikon D750 is your go-to for real estate. I'd love to see you compare it to the G9, and also the Nikon Z6, for real estate photography.
Hey Darren, I am a fairly recent purchaser of your boot camp, and I loved it. After taking a couple of months to practice the techniques and learn the peculiarities of the fuji X-H1 I will be getting started with, the shutdown hit exactly when I was ready to start reaching out to real estate agents. So I am just taking it one day at a time for now and looking forward to watching your updated boot camp at some point. The thing that prompted me to respond is that I have enjoyed many of your videos, and this one though, I found annoying because of the chopped up style. You are one of the legitimate "real" photographers sharing great information in a sea of fake. You have no need to do anything other than to keep it real (in one man's humble opinion). Peace out. CL
Hey Chad, thank you so much for the kind words about the Boot Camp, check out the updated version because not only do you get a discount as a returning user, but The course goes much more in depth into Photoshop this time instead of just HDR processing. I only did the chopped up style, because I find that it makes the videos shorter and more digestible for more people… Too many pauses slows things down for a lot of people and they’ll just skip to the next video...
Your video title really got me interested - replaced with what?!! I am not surprised. You got a good deal on a very capable camera. I think of myself as an advanced (for 40 years) amateur. My favorite camera in recent years was the Nikon D7100 which I still own. A couple of years ago a deal on a D750 came my way that I couldn't resist. A D750 body with 2k clicks, Nikon grip, Nikon 28-300, Nikon SB700 flash, 4 batteries, two chargers, four filters (all sell for over $100), four eye pieces and a nice Vanguard sling/backpack for 1.5k. I love this camera! I still use the D7100 but only with a 12-24 for wide shots. The D7100 & 750 are almost clones except for the sensor so it is easy to switch between them. I don't make a living with a camera but can easily see how a pro could with a 750. Keep up the great videos.
jazzjms I think you might’ve just hopped my deal! That sounds amazing… Best part of the deal? You got four eyepieces! If you’re feeling generous, ship one to me LOL. It’s a great camera, enjoy!
I bought my d750 a year ago this month. It'll be a while before I need a replacement. If I ever get into wedding photography I'll need a second camera. Maybe by then the d780 will be cheaper. I'm not into video so I really don't need the video side of the d780 but I do like the focus system in live view. I wonder how well live view would work for sports if you used a monopod with a gimbal. One of the main reasons I went with the d750 is for astrophotography.
@@starastronomer oh it's great. The low ISO performance really helps keep the noise down. Look for nightscape images here on UA-cam. That guy uses 2 d750 bodies and now a z6 for his work.
Darren, I look forward to the M4/3 reviews you mention. Re this video, boy did you talk at a rapid pace!! Why the rush? I like what you had to say and it was a surprise to learn of your replacement! LOL. Great choice. I too have a D750 (but nowhere used as much as yours was) and I have no desire for the D780 upgrade. Cheers, Antoine
Hey Darren, nice video here, and maybe helps me find my way to a new DSLR from Nikon....and I was allready wondering what camera to purchase as a replacement for my two D600's. And I checked your video, but also DXO, and the D600 scores higher than the D750..... :-o .....so why would I change and 'upgrade' to the D750?
Jurgen van Hest great question, if it’s getting the job done, then do what I did, wait for them to die and replace them when you need to. The only thing I’ve heard about the d600 from a guy that used both (d600 and d750) - I’ve only used the d750 - is that from an ergonomic/usability standpoint he said the d750 was easier to use - he also just got the d780 and said there’s a slight improvement in noise performance...
@@DarrenMiles Great advice, I'll let them die on me....but not for a long while ;-) I have two of these beasts, shoot concerts with them, indistructable, but thought I had to upgrade....but now I won't. Cheers and keep up the good work
I have a Kodak Instamatic 126 film camera, two Canon top of the line film SLRs, two Nikon DSLRs and a Sony a6600 - generations apart. These are still with me and my acquisitions never intended to replace one or the other.
Love my D750 the most ! The right balance between price/ IQ/ File sizes. I have a lot of the other nikons, love 'em too but the d750 is rather special, and a bit lighter than the more pro bodies, also again, still can't believe the images it produces for a 6 year old camera, more than good enough for a stills shooter like me... Great video !
Since you own and use both nikon and sony i need some advice please. I have a nikon d3100 with a 50mm f1.8 that i want to upgrade. I mainly do photography but recently i have been interested in video. I really want a full frame and i am torn between getting the d750, the sony A7ii, and the sony a6400 for my budget. So should o go full frame with old technology and video capabilities or crop with the latest technology?
If you want to get into video, then I'd have to push you in the direction of the A6400 - the other two, though have competent image sensors, the D750 is not a good video camera and the A7ii's battery life is about the worst in the business. Horrible! I think you can get away with the A6400. Just buy extra batteries :-)
Darren, Amazing video. For a few mins I thought you would switch to D850. But was pleasantly delighted you stayed with the legendary D750. Looks like it is getting cult followers with guys like you leading the pack. Great choice. May your tribe grow.
Hey Darren I am a former Real Estate, Event Photographer, and Videographer and my job had provided a Nikon D610 which I am returning next week when I retire. I watched a ton of Reviews on some of the mirror-less hybrid cameras and I plan to continue shooting. I have collected some decent Nikon lenses that I brought myself so I would like to stay with a used Nikon D750 for stills and purchase a used Panasonic GH5 for video instead of the Nikon Z6 or Z7 which still looks like its in early development. Your thoughts if you have time to reply. I liked your video and will search for more on the D750.
Well, I guessed wrong. In your poll, I said EM1 III. I still have a D850, but have ventured into the world of MFT with a EM1X. Shadows are less of an issue using DxO PhotoLab. Looking forward to your upcoming reviews.
I've just bought a D750 as an upgrade from my D610 because I needed something with better AF. At £530 on MPB it was an absolute bargain and is serving me well.
I am a shoot "for fun" amateur/intermediate, but am also the victim of G.A.S. The point of my post is that I seem to get the best pictures with my Nikon D750 over my Canon 6D ii, which I like a lot for it's touch screen capability. It pleases me to see your high approval rating for the D750 and I am now encouraged to get the camera out of its bag and head for a walk. Thank you for your channel.
Been looking seriously at the D750 but I'm happy with my 3 year old D610 but. Is it worth the extra to upgrade to a D750 from a D610 or do as you did and replace it with another D610. Is the flip out screen good for shooting low to the ground without having to actually put your face in contact with the ground to see what your shooting? Thanks!
Love my D750 and I was all ready to add the D780 until it was evident that it had no grip option and as a stills DSLR it wasn't offering much over its predecessor. The improved video functionality wasn't something I needed either. So I went the D850 route instead. Now I certainly don't need 45MP files but it ticked every other box for me and I can always shoot medium Raw to reduce the file size. Overall I'm very happy with my choice but I did consider simply adding a second D750 as an option instead.
Hey Darren - I love to find great deals on vintage cameras and last week I found a great deal on a D750 kit (yes I consider a 6+year old camera a vintage camera). It had a low shutter count and included a 24-70mm 2.8 and a 50mm 1.4 lens. So naturally I wanted to watch this video again. The only downer has been that this camera suffers from the occasional mirror lockup Err issue. I have read about this issue but have not found that Nikon ever provided a fix for it. Any information you can provide on how to get this issue resolved would be appreciated. John
Agree!! I LOVE the D750! it really is still producing IQ that actually beats most of todays cameras!!! and a steal even new at a grand here in the UK.....
I did not want to read any of the comments to spoil it. If I found out right off the bat you got another D750 I would have said no way, but after watching the video I completely understand your decision. Hope it last another 300K + actuations. Btw I am awaiting some more micro 4/3rd reviews. I have gotten hooked on using mine lately. The em1 original I have is such a joy to use. I added the 12-40 pro lens and the image quality rivals my fuji xt2. Olympus is very underrated. Thanks for the video.
I love mine paired to my tamron lenses. Perhaps I’ll swap out for a d780 in the future when the prices start to fall but in all honesty it’s still a great camera and for the price an absolute steal 👍
I don't think so, my primary motivation was stills, not video, the D780 is much improved at video, but stills wise, not enough to justify that kind of price difference - IMHO...
Mark Shirley I don’t doubt that it does, but I thought you wanted a camera that gave you the ability to offer back up on board as well… Does a 780 allow you to back up the footage on to the second card?
why are you wearing a suncap wrong way round and indoors ? was thinking about the D750 this morning. image quality is good enough so doesnt need replacing. the Pixel war is getting silly. nice photography work Darren.
I've got 3 D750s that I use for RE photography. I'll be bummed when you can't get them anymore. Although, maybe the D780 will be cheaper by the time replacement time comes.
Just a quick question...have you tried the high Res mode on Olympus cameras for your work as a real estate photographer? If yes could you take us through this ?
I was expecting you to say D780 because of its much improved video specs and touch screen, or even the Z6. My D750 and Z6 compliment each other perfectly for my work and my carry around is the P950. Part of me still misses Olympus Em1 Mark II but yah can't have it all!
I already like your buddy Dan! I've mostly moved on from m43, but still have ALL the equipment (just don't use them that much) so eagerly waiting your new m43 reviews!
About one minute into this video I made a decision. I got in my car in Virginia, drove to New York, placed an order with B&H for a brand new D750 body and arranged for curbside service to pick it up. Just when I was going to message you to ask where I could bring you the new D750, you said you bought the used one. Glad it worked out for you. I guess I will just keep the new D750. 🤣
This gave me a laugh since you had posted your fav cam not so long ago. At the time, I'd guessed correctly. Glad to hear you're still happy with it, and it is certainly refreshing when someone doesn't upgrade for once ;) Now that I've discovered nd filters, I'm not sure I need to upgrade either. I do occasionally hear that lighter rig calling my name...
@@DarrenMiles are you telling us that you were actually lying when you said “beautiful sunny south-west Florida”? Seeing you in your dungeon, I was expecting “grim dark s-w Florida”, but apparently “overcast rainy s-w Florida” would have been nearer the mark?
;) Ha! Great choice (again?! ;) ) Can't wait to see your MFT videos, Darren. And, just as an aside - I shoot RE with an OM-D E-M1 MK III - and you are right about the ability to pull shadows, so I do end up bracketing for piece of mind - although I rarely have to blend as I'm finding that I'm the only one who notices...Plus, in shoots of larger homes - I'm in love with 20MP file sizes rather than hundreds of RAW files at more than twice the size (like my A7RII, which was a bit crazy - while the A7II is a bit more sane, but what fun is an A7II? ;) ). Great video - keep them coming!!
Nathaniel Cash Jr. I have no doubt that the D780 is a great camera, if it’s anything like the D750, i’m sure it’s awesome. However, given that my primary motivation was still photography, I didn’t see enough of a benefit to upgrading for 2 1/2 times what it cost me to get a used D750…. Obviously, if I had a need for improved video functionality that would’ve been a consideration… However for what I specifically needed right now the image quality the D750 is still plenty good enough for my needs.
@@DarrenMiles I got you. Here's what I find useful for my key type of photography. I'm pretty well known among motorcyclist for my photos at rallies. D750 has been great for this type of photography. D780 feels like the 750 on steroids. The faster focusing (D5) gives me a greater hit rate for bikes passing at 70+ MPH while they're giving a thumbs up. Most of the action is at night where the higher ISO is giving me cleaner shots lit by bike headlights and shots taken in the bars without flash look fantastic. Last, liveview allows for better compositions at different angles and it focuses quickly (Z6). Of course video is better too though that not really my focus.
I love the D780. The dual card slot is so good for me. I am “traumatized” since I lost photos from 4 out of 5 of the Cinque Terre villages. No recovery program found them back. Trust me I found photos from 2016 but not from 2 weeks back. So card failure is a possibility I have cried over it 😭😅🤓 Waked all day long. Was my second time. Finally with a good camera😅😞🙄
I enjoy your insight on things. I have a d750 that I bought second hand this summer. Apparently it’s one of the recalls and which makes me uncomfortable. I’m kind of a clean freak and I don’t keep camera at 635,000 shutter clicks. Mine only has maybe 20,000 clicks but the recall bothers me, I’m sure I’ll sell it soon, real soon. I don’t see getting another d750 for the recalls they had so I’m torn between getting a second d500 or get a ..........🤔🤷🏻♂️ I’ve had a d800 and a d810, but I don’t want to deal with cf cards and they’re kind of old technology. I shoot weddings, corporate events, family photo sessions, portraits and some real estate. I’m not a pro of pros and this is not a $100,000.00 annual income, it’s more like $15,000.00 a year income as I’m a retiree with income from that along with income from social security. The d780 is too new and we don’t know how it’ll be AND it’s too $$😳. I’m torn as to what to buy for a second camera to my d500. I might just buy another d500, the prints or canvases should look good up to 36”x24” right?
Bummer dude, did you drop it per chance ? Was it expensive to get fixed ? I've dropped my d3s a tonne of times (from tripod heights) and it still works like a champ, shutter replaced once and over 600,000 clicks on it..
Another great content Darren I do love my D750, have the battery grip and some lenses, and btw what flash or speedlight you recommend for the D750 for general use and have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and to you and your family stay safe
Darren, I've recently started my own business shooting weddings and Real Estate videos as well. I've been looking for a Nikon D750 all over the web and even used I couldn't find anything close to that $800 Price point, (I keep seeing $1,000 or higher in some places) I was wondering if you might be able to point me in the direction of a retailer or someplace where I might be able to find this kind of Pricing? I also was looking at the Nikon D850 and was considering buying that camera for shooting short films. If you have any feedback or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I really appreciate your videos. Thanks!! Edit: I just Checked the link above for a refurbished Nikon D750 from B & H and its 1,049.00
Godfrey Jemand you clearly didn’t watch the entire video. I had a bunch of reasons why I chose the d750 over a d850, the big one is megapixels and file sizes. 24mp is perfect for my workflow requirements (if you watched the video you would have known that too) - the d850 is a great a camera, but it’s not what I NEED for my business.
I thought you went D780 or another D750 but then I started to think oh crap did he go micro 43s. If that D780 was $2000 or less, I wonder what you would have done. Anyway been watching for years and somehow I'm not subscribed, so I fixed that. Thanks for the good quality and content of your videos.
I’ve had my 750 since 2015- I’ve tried others but keep coming back to it. Hard to be beat for dynamic range on blue hour real estate shots. I just had the AA filter removed to crisper up the detail ever so slightly too. I may invest in a Z6 at some point, but it still works so well, why spend the money. Bought a D700 instead recently for personal projects (amazing color with that sensor)
The D750 will be perfectly good enough forever
What I like is the fact you highlighted NEEDS. While newer cameras can offer some nice features really and truly we dont need to spend all the extra cash. The whole commercial system is built on making you feel if you don't have the latest you won't get good results. Thanks for keeping it real
Great Video. Which lenses are best for Real Estate Photography?

What a relief to hear....you made me very happy to know your replacement camera is the same model especially since I own one as well ..... bless you.
same! I’m buying another D750 for my wedding business. It’s been good to me for the past 4 years.
Same here - I love my 750 for stills and video it actually has really nice 1080 that is so nice to grade.

I just found your videos a week ago and have been binge watching them. Great content!
This cascaded and then I purchased
a 2nd hand 50mm 1.4 and 35 mm sigma all for less than a sony a7iii.
But there is so much on the market I just could not decide.Thank you I'm going with the one that brought me to the dance.I'm buying another D750.
glad you and yours are well during this national health crisis. i picked up a D750 about six months ago for event work. previously, i never used nikon. so i was building a kit from scratch. i found a used body with 28k from the original owner. all that was missing was the eye cup which seems to be a constant with the D750. my event clients have been thrilled. once (and if) COVID19 because a memory, i am hoping that the D750 will be a solid real estate tool. thanks for the effort and the sharing. stay well.
Yep still using my 750s. FF Mirrorless realm is a mess right now, 750 is pretty much the old guard of do-it all photography.
My main problem with the D780 is no grip.
are you using the 14-24 2.8 G for real estate shots?
Yes, still my goto, however, if I were just starting today with real estate photography, I'm sure it'd be my first choice.
Well reasoned and informative. Great video!
fukananner thank you!!
After my second D700 what better that en third one??? Next station maybe is this also great D750
Aren't there good quality adapters that would allow you to run all your Nikkor glass on the A7Riii?
@@madpogue THIS!!
great video, great explanation - and your facial expression after replacing the old 750 with the new 750 is priceless. It just shines "yeah, got it, search is over" :-) have plenty of fun with it.
is hard to give up on D750, i got back to it after i sold the D800E
I cannot express how happy I am for you.
Moving on.
Great to see you went with another D750. It's still a stellar camera.
Darren, should there be a fan club for the D750...will sure join😉. Nice video.
How well is the d750 for astrophotography?
@@starastronomer oh it's great. The low ISO performance really helps keep the noise down. Look for nightscape images here on UA-cam. That guy uses 2 d750 bodies and now a z6 for his work.
@@carlmcneill1139 Thanks for that information. Will look into the camera.
@@DarrenMiles Thank you so much!
Getting a used D750 actually scored lower than “other“… So don’t feel too bad :-)
I've just bought a D750 as an upgrade from my D610 because I needed something with better AF. At £530 on MPB it was an absolute bargain and is serving me well.
Good choice! D750 is awesome. I won’t ever sell mine.
Thanks!
I have a df and keep looking at d750 for landscape, I am also Olympus shooter
good choice for what you do... I thought about the D750 but settled for the D850....
Well done!
Good, rational video about your thought process as a business owner. I am looking forward to new m4/3 review videos.
Good call on going with another D750
Love my D750 and I was all ready to add the D780 until it was evident that it had no grip option and as a stills DSLR it wasn't offering much over its predecessor. The improved video functionality wasn't something I needed either. So I went the D850 route instead. Now I certainly don't need 45MP files but it ticked every other box for me and I can always shoot medium Raw to reduce the file size. Overall I'm very happy with my choice but I did consider simply adding a second D750 as an option instead.
This is my position almost verbatim... Though I don't have a D850... Not yet anyway...
John
Agree!! I LOVE the D750! it really is still producing IQ that actually beats most of todays cameras!!! and a steal even new at a grand here
in the UK.....
Very good, did not see that coming, thought you had got a Nikon Z6!
Not loving the lens selection at this point with the Z6, it's a good body though... Canon went in the opposite direction, killer lenses, meh camera.
A D3200 eye cup will fit and it will lock on and never fall off. It's also way more comfy and blocks side light!
I love mine paired to my tamron lenses. Perhaps I’ll swap out for a d780 in the future when the prices start to fall but in all honesty it’s still a great camera and for the price an absolute steal 👍
Excellent analysis; you have kind of refrained me from upgrading/ change from my ever trusted d800 for now at least. Take care Darren, Cheers
La casquette, c'est pour se protéger de la lumière de l'écran ?
Oui!
You are a role model for sense in a totally senseless world.
For 900$, D750 with grip and have less than 5000 shutter usage ....Great deal...Oh ..I need one like this.
D750 for the win Darren. If the price of the D780 was lower by $400 to $500 and Nikon manufactured a grip would your decision have changed?
I don't think so, my primary motivation was stills, not video, the D780 is much improved at video, but stills wise, not enough to justify that kind of price difference - IMHO...
@@DarrenMiles got to differ on the video on the D780 it has good video AF and good quality 1080 and 4K plus has descent 120fps.
Mark Shirley I don’t doubt that it does, but I thought you wanted a camera that gave you the ability to offer back up on board as well… Does a 780 allow you to back up the footage on to the second card?
@@DarrenMiles no that's why I'm not buying it Darren - but the video is very good on it no problems there.
Mark Shirley sorry about that, I was crisscrossing your comment with a different thread… My apologies
Hello, I like the video but I think you should consider upgrading your microphone or recording in a less echoing room...
why are you wearing a suncap wrong way round and indoors ? was thinking about the D750 this morning. image quality is good enough so doesnt need replacing. the Pixel war is getting silly. nice photography work Darren.
damn right you love my comment
@@RobJorg Bahahahahaha! Thank you for the comic relief
@@DarrenMiles grinn,. smiling from ear to ear.
Great video, you surprised me big time! I have the z6 and z mount lenses, but also a d750, makes me happier to shoot with the d750! Great camera
I already like your buddy Dan! I've mostly moved on from m43, but still have ALL the equipment (just don't use them that much) so eagerly waiting your new m43 reviews!
Smart move. I still use my D750 on a regular basis for landscapes, astro and professional sports. It's my money maker.
Doug Stringer this!
24 Mpix is more than we need these days unless someone wants to make really huge prints.
Smart decision! One question, btw, out of curiousitiy: do you use any tilt/shift lenses for your architectural work, and if no, why not?
About one minute into this video I made a decision. I got in my car in Virginia, drove to New York, placed an order with B&H for a brand new D750 body and arranged for curbside service to pick it up. Just when I was going to message you to ask where I could bring you the new D750, you said you bought the used one. Glad it worked out for you. I guess I will just keep the new D750. 🤣
Bahahahahahaha!
This gave me a laugh since you had posted your fav cam not so long ago. At the time, I'd guessed correctly. Glad to hear you're still happy with it, and it is certainly refreshing when someone doesn't upgrade for once ;)
Now that I've discovered nd filters, I'm not sure I need to upgrade either. I do occasionally hear that lighter rig calling my name...
Sticking with the D750 was certainly the practical decision, and the one I scored was practically brand new...
@@DarrenMiles Spectacular deal for sure!
You need some "Sunny" light in that room. It's a borderline dungeon.
LOL - it was actually overcast and rainy yesterday - beautiful today though :-)
@@DarrenMiles are you telling us that you were actually lying when you said “beautiful sunny south-west Florida”?
Seeing you in your dungeon, I was expecting “grim dark s-w Florida”, but apparently “overcast rainy s-w Florida” would have been nearer the mark?
Lau Bjerno definitely the exception, certainly not the norm :-)
@@DarrenMiles Okay, yes on the South East side we did have some overcast with heavy showers too. I'll cut you some slack this time.
I didn't see that coming. :( :) Great video. I like my D750 as well.
I guessed the D750 again! :-):-)
Should have gotten the d780. Nikon's rebate kept the price low. I still have a d750, but the overall improvements are nice.
Great decition ❤️
Very, very wise choice!!
My D750 mirror mechanism failed at around 65,000 clicks (3 years of use). Your D750 lasted far better than mine.
Bummer dude, did you drop it per chance ? Was it expensive to get fixed ? I've dropped my d3s a tonne of times (from tripod heights) and it still works like a champ,
shutter replaced once and over 600,000 clicks on it..
Another great content Darren I do love my D750, have the battery grip and some lenses, and btw what flash or speedlight you recommend for the D750 for general use and have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and to you and your family stay safe
Ernest thank you very very much for the kind words!I would get the godox V1
I agree, holding that camera was very nice and enjoyable although I did switch to a Sony a7iii with grip extender and it's awesome

I guessed it right looking at your title.
Great Video.👍👍👍
Thank you!
for workhorse,it cant be beat
That's a very smart decision!
Every photographer need a friend with GAS 😅
Everyone need a buddy Dan in their lives, that's for sure!
There are so many used gems out there, I think this was a brilliant idea!
i kinda assumed that would be the result.
Haha! Atta boy! I’d do the same, I love my D750!
Hahaha, I have d750 but I was not expect this !
