Yeah, especially the Zelda and Splatoon-themed villagers, like Wolf Link, Epona, Inkwell, etc.. I mean, if they added the Sanrio-themed villagers and content to New Horizons, there's absolutely no reason why the Zelda and Splatoon-themed villagers shouldn't be there.
Because once greedy companies like this receives their big payout there is no reason to work on the game so they abandon the game completely. I stopped playing this game years ago after I noticed their greedy ways. Play stardew valley way way better farming sim overall and still receives updates to this day. Then to add insult to injury they tell their players to restart their games.. so basically “no we won’t be updating the game ever but just restart your island and shazam! It’s a new game again !”
Good for you. Stand by your island. Too many people seem ready to throw it all away for the quick excitement of starting over. I think they forgot how much trudgery there was in amassing all their furniture, clothes, and DIYs.
@@sonicguyver7445I could NEVER do that to my island, I’ve had it since the game launched and I put in SO many hours into it, deleting that would be like having all of those last 4 years go to waste.
I haven’t played in at least a year or two, and honestly I was recently thinking about playing it again and restarting. Also partly because I did some time traveling and did not get the museum update somehow, but I agree - I am reluctant to leave behind my villagers and progress from before. Maybe not Rasher tho lol, I remember levaing him alone so he could move out 💀 just not my type of villager. I was shocked and scared when he first moved to my island. Oh and honestly the cooking thing. Idk much about it, but seems really fun!
One game save per console is never enough, and I would have preferred that Nintendo let us have as many game saves as the storage in our Switches would allow. I've never understood the one island per console limitation, but If Nintendo is trying to boost engagement or sales or whatever by doing it, then they should push a Switch system patch that allows us one island per cartridge owned. I bet that there are a lot more Animal Crossing fans who would be willing to cough up sixty dollars for another cartridge, than there are people who were willing to buy an entirely new Switch AND buy the game again, just to get another island. Edit: Bob's Gang!
Currently, as long as you have physical cartridge, you can use the same one between systems tho? Since save data is on the system instead of the cartidge. So it's only a new system unless you bought digitally, THEN it would be a new system and rebuy of the game. (I'm just being a bit nitpicky with the end of what you said, I agree with everything else you said)
I have a feeling that the reason they're doing that is because if you're only allowed only one save it feels more like YOUR island. It feels more unique and helps you bond with it. Then again, they're suggesting restarting for a fresh new start so this is a bit contradictory to my theory.
My thought is that it's a technical thing more than anything. If they've created special tools for saving and transferring saves, it must take up a lot of room. Either that, or they don't want you saving your island to an SD card and trading it for cash or whatever. Or there is some part of using the game that accesses a server at nintendo that might get overloaded if there are too many islands? So I think resources is one part, perhaps discouraging (or minimizing) manipulation of the game for profit is another, all under the cover of saying it should be a cooperative family effort. In actuality it just makes everyone want to be on their own island. 🤣
@Hazmatti I had one on my husband's Switxh and then he got me my own. We didn't know how to transfer my stuff on his to mine, so everything that I had done to my house, stuff and everything was lost and I had to start from scratch. Is why my island is called 2nd Chance.
I absolutely REGRET restating! I didn't realize how DEMANDING the game was for our time because I had to GRIND FOR DAYS just to get terraforming! Plus, I still have to wait days to reorganize my island(move buildings, add/remove bridges/inclines)! At this point I see why so many people time travel because if I have to WAIT AN ENTIRE DAY JUST TO CHANGE ONE THING AT A TIME, I'm basically just wasting a day since some redesigns I have in mind require me to move a building or remove an old bridge! So that's just an entire day wasted on step 1, and years down the drain because of how bored I was with the game. I don't know how good the old AC games were, but I heard they're WAY better than NH. All I do now is hope the next game is at least better than NH.
Yeah, waiting an entire day sucks but time traveling also sucks 'cause saving and loading the game is so slow 😂 Even earning bells without other players help is such a hassle😂 Not related but And it's unfortunate that they didn't add train tracks and the train doesn't move around the island!😂 Hope they add more features like moving objects in the next game since the new switch should be more powerful than the current one. And let players have more freedom when it comes to customizing the interior/exterior of the house😅
Their big mistake was not letting us save an island and then start over. Being able to pull up my old islands if I wanted would definitely keep me playing. I spent so much time on my island and made it exactly how I envisioned and would never delete it.
I totally agree. If Minecraft can have numerous worlds saved, why can't Animal Crossing save multiple islands? Even an island extension option would be nice. Too many hours of work go into our islands to start over.
I'm NEVER reset my island. An island has memories in it. Plus, if there's new content, I still won't. I have my favorite villagers, my bffs, my gf on there, hundreds of hours of care on my island. I'll NEVER reset it in my life! Not even for anything nintendo could offer!
I just started playing again after 4 years and 6 months. I fell out of it due to my work schedule and got disheartened being so behind. But I had a change of heart when someone I know still plays. Made me miss my Villagers. I am now terraforming and doing the DLC. I am having a blast. I just wish I could rename my island to match this current stage in my life. Thank you for your videos!
@Crowsandstarlings I had one I didn't recognize, Admiral, when I got back. But I remember hunting for Dreamies before I left the game. I have Bunnie, Chelsea, Chai, Tia, Marshal, Zucker, Bertha, Puddles, Gayle, and Admiral. I am planning to get Tangy and Sprinkle, which will move out Bertha and Admiral. I love Bertha, but Tangy and Sprinkle have always been on my Dreamie list.
If they wanted us to keep playing they should have respected us more as customers and maintained and updated the game to make it worth while. They should also allow us to unlock the full catalog so we can access all the build items if we restart and a one-click option to flatten islands. So no... until they make some quality of life changes and real updates for longtime players I won't be coming back. More likely they want people to get back into it to sell merchandise. Nothing to do with getting us to play more.
Speaking of Villagers missing us, hopefully next game when I abandon the game for 3+ years maybe not have them just go like 'oh hey your still alive' and then business as usual.
I wish they would offer an island flattening experience. Where you pay one of the npc’s to come in and flatten your island, giving you a way to soft reboot your island.
Same, I’ve been playing since release and it’s my favorite game ever, I got most of my dream villagers (some of them I just grew too attached to and can’t find the courage to let them go, until my Mom can get her own switch cus she wants to play the game with me)
@@peggynicholson2639 first you have to friend them on your switch, then you open the gates to your island in the airport, and finally your friend will select to go to someone else’s island at their airport and select to go to your island after selecting “I want to fly”
Honestly (as a person who played almost the whole series) I think every AC's games have some lacks. That said, although probably it will remain a dream, I hope Nintendo would take the best features from each chapter and put them in a new update or at least in a new game in the series for Switch 2. By the way, I restarted my island two times because I wasn't fully satisfied, but I'm (finally) creating the right one so...even if I'll finish literally everything (redecor my parents' and villagers' houses, catch every fish/sea creature/bugs and find all art) I'll NEVER reset it again. I did it with NL (unfortunately my Ds and Wii died...) and I'll do the same with NH even without any updats. This game literally helped me in my darkest years. (Forgive me if I made any mistakes, but english it's not my native language.)
I restarted last year and I both regret it but at the same time don't? I noticed myself missing a lot of the late-game progress stuff + items when starting again, but on the other hand it was a whole new experience playing it from the start with all the 2.0 update content in it. I had bought my game right when it first came out so a lot of the progress was already made when 2.0 dropped and I got bored of the stuff quicker. Now I find myself enjoying a lot of the things and as I've developed my island I don't regret restarting so much anymore. If you plan to restart just know that it's going to take a lot of time and effort to get back to where you were, and some bits will feel old because you've played through it already, but if you persevere it can be a fun new experience as well~
If they had some way of transferring progress like in New Leaf Welcome Amiibo, (yet another feature that NH never got) I might've wanted to restart. As is, though, I wouldn't want to start the tedious grind for materials and bells again, as there'd barely be anything different gameplay-wise.
I had to restart my island when I got the OLED and the game has never been the same for me. That first island was nearly perfect and I've never been able to get it back. I just recently restarted again and now I think I'm just done with New Horizons. This time I haven't even gotten to KK's concert.
If they want us to play it more/again, they need to add more content as they had once promised, and expand the amount of villagers we can have and the size of the island or more islands. I could never restart my game from scratch by deleting the save that made the years around 2020 bearable. Certainly not after the painstaking effort of redecorating their home interiors (which should be a base-game addition not DLC dependant). I'm hoping the next Animal Crossing game being on a stronger Switch 2 will have many of the features ACNH lacked. And actually be supported instead of abandoned.
I've restarted my island several times. I have 2 consoles and so 2 islands. My daughter has 1 and I gave both of my granddaughters each a ACNH switch and game. That never took off like I'd hoped. Now I play once a day for a few minutes just to pass time. I spent a lot of money on ACNH and don't regret it. However I'm no longer interested in starting over again. Bob's gang! Good video.
I could never restart my island. Too much time and work put into it. The only way I could see myself making a new island is if I had a hacked Switch that gave me access to all ACNH items from the start for free.
The only reason in still playing is because something went wrong with the island transfer from my OG switch to a new OLED one. I'm still trying to get all the DIYs and have one last villager to switch out. A patch making it easier to get DOYs you don't already have would be a blessing 😂 I'm just over 200 short of all of them and have a huge library that I keep forgetting to find people still playing who need DIYs to come along and take ones they don't have 😂😂
I restarted my island twice over the past almost 5 years, and part of it was due to the fact that I felt bad about missing out for so long. Another major part was I didn’t really have a vision for what I wanted, and I’d accidentally flooded my island with flowers and I was so overwhelmed about it-and I got sick of the names. If I could go back to my very first one and take my hybrid flowers, recruit my favorite villagers, and send over the items I’d want, I’d be totally happy. Even then, I’ve kind of liked the thrill of the grind and getting different villagers and trying over again while having something of a vision with a different map, and I don’t have any plans of restarting this one. There are pros and cons of both but I would love a few save files at least
New horizons needed so many quality of life updates that it never got and it has all these incredible features that are severely hindered by stupid choices. How on earth we never got bulk crafting is the dumbest possible crab for a sandbox type game. It makes the game infuriating long term.
i really wish they hadn't abandoned the game. there was still so much missing from the game. multiplayer mini game islands, celestes tower, more building upgrades, improved dialogue for the villagers, more villagers on an island, better multiplayer features when joining a friend....
Put it this way. If I wanted to restart my island, they should have updated or already had an option to do a "one time" sell your island like we could in New Leaf, selling the value of your town. You get to start over with the added interest as well. I shouldn't have to start over because I'm bored, lack a second Switch or burnt out from multiple soft resets of the same island almost 5 years in. Those are reasons that you can but I rather they update the game with more content or give the route that was option given in New Leaf.
If they make the villagers much more interesting, I will play it again. Decorating houses doesn't keep me from playing, but the overall quality of the villagers. I reset my island, but don't have the appetite to play again, cuz I see the villagers somehow bland. Would love to see more interaction from them, or allow us to have a mini shop, and really be able to start our own bakery, or smoothies, or be able to set a community hangout with all the villagers, and you can pick which part of the island it will happen. So many things they can add up, but they leave us hanging just like that.
My Forever island is on a Lite and I wouldn’t think of deleting it after 1,000’s of hours of game play and having it just like I want it now. I love the game so much I did splurge for an Oled a few years back. That is where I start new islands to try different themes. I love the beginning play of a new island. I’m currently putting aside $ for when the Switch 2 is released. Thank you for your videos. Always good vibes.
I restarted my island, having the completed island and a stock pile of bells and other items was getting old without much to work towards anymore. So I restarted so I have tasks to work towards again and a fresh set of new faces in villagers. Also this time I'm changing the look of the island to something new.
Bob's gang. I remember the original game (GameCube) allowed a new island on a new memory card and family members could be a resident in different towns by using different cards. I liked that
I never stopped playing. As time goes on I may only play a few days a week, and have sometimes skipped a week. I’m also still playing Paradise Planning. I’ve thought about restarting, but I’ve done way too much in 5 years to justify deleting my island. If we could have a second island I would have probably started one, as I always had more than one town on the other platforms/versions.
Because you only get 1 save on a console and I did want to start from the beginning without losing everything, I just started an emulated save with a mod that let's me jump over rivers regardless of distance and swim at lightening speed, it's been fun
Thinking about my villagers I spent hours searching for is sad. Even if I get back into the game, I will NOT be restarting my island unless they let us have additional islands. That is just non negotiable.
I did restart my island, but that was mainly due to me having to give up some video games to pay bills at the time, including Animal Crossing New Horizons. But I did have the foresight to upload a dream code for my original island, so in a way, I can still visit it with my current save (I have since gotten ACNH again) if I ever wanted to see it again.
While I enjoyed a lot about the game, and the early game, there is no way I want to grind for DIY recipes again. I loved DIYs, but acquiring them is insane. I played over 3 to 4 thousand hours and am STILL missing some. And yes, we could have more than one island on a system that would be awesome.
I had restarted my island back in September or so, and it's been taking me so long to get it up to where I want it to be....still not finished it yet, and I *really* don't want to start it over again. My hubby and I have our own Switch Lites, but I'm the Animal Crossing player in my house. As a few people had mentioned, if Nintendo really wanted people to continue playing Animal Crossing on a regular basis, why stop the updates and content? There's so much more they can improve of in the game, as well as bringing some features back from previous games, too.
I've been playing with my island, called Underworld, since I first got the game in May 2020, and I have absolutely ZERO intention of starting over from scratch! No way, Jose! I like to move things around and do renovations from time to time, but there is NO WAY I will be erasing everything I've worked on for nearly 5 years. There's still some achievements I haven't even gotten yet!
I'll never restart my island. I invested so much time into making it my own and I still haven't finished my museum. I just wish we got an update once or twice a year. It would keep the game alive, see EA who are still keeping the Sims 4 alive (for better and for worse).
I started a new island about a month ago but only because I was in the position to buy a new switch, i dont think i'd have it in me to delete my OG island, even though I was never 100% happy with it.
I put in almost 1000 hours into my island, I’ve had it since the day the game released and I can’t lose it, it’s become so special to me and I can’t imagine how I would feel if one day it’s all gone.
I so would love to restart but after 1500 hrs (I know) and having every single item and recipe cataloged plus every villager photo. I DEFINITELY do not wanna lose that.
I hated to do it, but I restated this last year. I actually stopped playing for quite a while. I didn’t know what I was doing when I started in 2020, and made lots of mistakes that I couldn’t correct. One being my fruit, I didn’t know to plant the third type. I got really far, but really frustrated. After restarting, I have moved forward quickly. I do miss things I had as well as my neighbors. I’m still having fun now.
I honestly just wish I could add more custom slots. I’ve spent a lot of time on my island (and money during the pandemic to get access to unlimited treasure islands) so I’d just rather make it shine. In the last couple months though, I’ve been logging on sporadically to just finish those “unfinished” parts of my island and moved things around. I like some things I’ve been playing with!
The reason i've hated Animal Crossing for many years is that the GC game always tried to guilt trip me, when i was gone for one day, so i'm not gonna let them pull this on me
Lol I just restarted mine this year, and I didn’t even know they wanted you to restart your island for this year. I didn’t get too far into it the first time I played when it came out, I played it for a year then dropped it.
tbh, i got bored like 3 years ago and stopped playing, i just recently started playing again and deff started a new island. this time instead of people giving me everything im earning it so i dont get bored again. My only issues with the game is i wish we could put briges from cliff to cliff without a waterfall under it, kinda like a bridge overpass. Also, the vacation island, shame we cant invite our friends to it like our regular island
I started over twice last year. I don't think another restart is going to boost my enjoyment of it. I need to focus more on working on my current island that's finally reached 5 star again. I will say though I miss my first island. It's a pity I couldn't have kept my first island and have all the fun of a restart, just rebuilding it isn't the same.
Not a hecking chance I'm restarting. I've been busting my arse to finish the museum for literal YEARS, no way am I doing that again. And DIY recipes! Those are a NIGHTMARE to collect! Why would I throw away all of this effort and work and results for...nothing? To be back at zero with NOTHING. I've done that over and over and OVER my entire life, I'm TIRED of having to start over because of the actions of other people, why the HECK would I want to do that in a game?? There isn't a chance I'll delete what I've done, I'm done with having to throw things away just because nobody else can comprehend things like "legacy" and cultivating something long-term. Putting a game down for a few years and coming back? Yeah, I'm used to that as well, but that's different, coming back is like putting on a cozy old coat or blanket or the like, good memories and things, and nothing is lost. And sometimes things come as a surprise, that I'd forgotten about some stuff, or made new discoveries with info I have then that I didn't before. Deleting? Yeah, no. Stuff like this, and the mainline Pokemon games on the Switch, are why I've given up on Nintendo, and that's genuinely depressing, as I played the old 8-bit games when they were current content, and have continued to enjoy their games to this day. Way to throw away your own legacy, Nintendo :-\ (Oh yeah, and Bob's Gang! :P)
I put years into my island I doubt I'll be starting over anytime soon. I got my 5 star rating And I was drawn back because I kind of missed just chilling and vibing with my villagers.Still want my wolf link and ganon 👀
I did infact restart my island and regret it. This was after the 2.0 update happened like a few days after and when the dlc was released. I had no idea either things happened. So I restarted it and then like two days later or around that amount of time I went on UA-cam and saw that there was now dlc and a huge update and I had just restarted my island so I spent the weekend GRINDING like I did a ton of time traveling and went from having basically nothing to having kk perform just so I could play the dlc and the new update played for hours on end like from the time I woke up (around 12 probably) to like six am for like two days. And then last year or the year before I restarted my island again and kinda grinded again to get to that point just not as relentlessly. Now I’m trying to complete my museum and finish all the nook miles tasks and get five stars for my island.
It took a year to finish my first island. I got bored because there as nothing to do. It was perfect and I was scared to chance anything in it. So I saved dream address and restarted, to try new island. But I have restarted 3-4 times already and never finished new ones, because those never felt right like first one did. Some times I visit my first island by dream address and there I feel nostalgia while fall in love with it again. I miss my Sunny Island now very much, I can't recreate similar island ever again 😭
after all the work I put into my isle after all the coins and even just other NPC's to represent them and all the visitors that I got from it alone since I based the island off of my bunny series, people had actually when I had reddit at least, told me that they were impressed by my isle and even when inviting people over and saying the name SAWTOB they're like "Oh hey I Heard of that! I like them!" so no...hell no I wouldn't scrap my island after all the work I put in and how much recognition it had gotten me lol
I restarted mine once, and I somewhat regret it- but at the time I wanted a new theme and taking everything down felt like it was going to be too tedious. Plus I have the Amiboo card for my favorite character, however it hasn't been the same and I can't think of anyting new to do with my island. I wish the game was still being taken care of, with updates- even if once a year or something. But it really felt like the game was shoved aside as soon as it was released. I find it difficult to keep up the whimsy for a game that feels abandoned. Aside from them advertising to get people to play, but they won't add anything. I suppose it does free up people to work on bigger projects.
I've been playing on the same island since day 1. i have all my dreamies there and yes i would prefer a different layout but even so i would never reset it, too many hours have gone into it lol and as another commenter pointed out, there's a lot of memories on the island too
I’ve been putting off redoing my island for a while. I already flattened like 2/3rds of it and rerouted the river to allow the largest possible space. I want it to be as natural as possible, like the older games. Two equally tiered elevations. I also need to spread out the houses a bit lol, they’re all clumped in a corner of a giant field. I may keep my giant farm as is, because I added bits and bobs to it to make it look more like an actual farm, rather than just two giant squares of crops growing. Too bad I didn’t have it on elevated land. 🫠
I have 2 switchs and over 9,999 hours on one and 5,000+ hours on the 2nd. And I am addicted to restarting. I can build an island in about 10 days. I restarted at about 11pm Monday night and hit 3 stars about 6pm yesterday. By this Saturday ish I will be 5 stars. By sometime Sunday I will be back to 4 stars because Isabelle and evidently my villagers are pissed because I have too many trees.
Absolutely NOT! I put way too much time into my island. But I did buy another switch that the owner was locked out of, for $50. Then I called Nintendo and got a code to unlock it. So I am lucky enough to have a second console.
I just reset my island on the 28th since i had christmas off work and was bored. I forgot how grindy the game is at the start and im still waiting on nooks cranny to upgrade. That hard 30 day wait is very toxic.
bobs gang!! i have played animal crossing since wild world and I am someone who resets every few years. ive done it less the older ive gotten but i do it usually as i change and grow. for example, i got sober about 2 1/2 years ago and i restarted then. i restarted when i entered high school and then when i entered college. i tend to restart when large life events happen and i change and i feel like it doesn't reflect me anymore if that makes any sense
I have mail from a friend I haven't heard from in a long time. I don't even know if they're doing ok or if they're still struggling with MH issues. There's no way I'm starting over and losing that.
I restarted my island once and I kinda regretted it. I’m redoing my island after buying the game again and I realized that I don’t have a lot of time to do the stuff I want to do. I don’t have Mable’s shop yet but something tells me it’ll take a while.
I love saving my finished islands in a dream address and revisiting them on my new island… I got back for inspiration and visit my old favorite villagers! Restarting is a bunch of fun and plan to do it again this yr ❤
It's quite ironic that I'll (possibly) actually be getting into the game for the first time this year since I got it for my birthday just last month. That'll be if I can ever actually have the time, though. Aren't you able to create another Switch account on the same console to be able to create a new island, though? But I know that that would be bringing up the cost of getting another NSO subscription if someone wants.
I wish you could have multiple islands per switch so I could start over on one but have a great fallback to go back to when I get frustrated. Getting all of the diys took me a whole 3 years!!
I just restarted, my previous island had treasure island help. I’m now playing with no treasure island help, and playing as the game was meant to be played. , it’s harder, and takes waaay longer to pay off loans, I can’t save miles, as I use them on nook mile tickets….
if they want us to keep playing, why not give us another uodate? Also, i have. only been playing for a couple months, so i am a bit new to animal crossing so i am really hoping they dont make a new game and instead update new horizons.
I literally restarted my game a month ago and it has me by the balls. I wasn't even planning on restarting. I just opened it because I was curious if I had transferred my old island over to my new switch, then I randomly decided to keep playing through the beginning for god knows why and now here I am lol haven't missed a day since picking it up again
I've worried about villagers missing me in past games but the villagers in New Horizons are empty husks. I don't even want multiple saves. I just want villagers that I care about, like in previous games. (Bob's gang)
Don't call it comeback, I was never away! I seriously have played almost every day for the last five years. I occasionally skip a day but thats it. I drive truck for a living and having my own paradise of Put-in-Bay to visit whenever I need to feel calm or safe is so nice.
I didn’t restart my island I just got board and destroyed it so I could start designing it again then after I destroyed it all I stopped and thought wtf did I just do and I remembered it took me 3 years to build it
That is what happened to mines and thought it would not turn on. But my brother pressed two buttons or so, and just like that, IT WAS TURNED ON! Thank God my switch was not broken...maybe yours was not either....
I included the Prologue music for a bit of early game nostalgia 👀
🎉🎉🎉
What is the prologue music called?
It definitely worked, although for some reason I find Resident Service Tent theme to be more nostalgic.
If they want people to start playing again maybe they should just add more content. The content that got left behind in new leaf.
Totally, like just pick back up on updates lol
Less focus on ACPC and more on ACNH. That'd be wonderful. Too much focus on ACPC. That's the biggest issue, Nintendo.
PLEASE ADD BACK THE ISLANDS PLEASEE
Yeah, especially the Zelda and Splatoon-themed villagers, like Wolf Link, Epona, Inkwell, etc.. I mean, if they added the Sanrio-themed villagers and content to New Horizons, there's absolutely no reason why the Zelda and Splatoon-themed villagers shouldn't be there.
Seriously, though, as I'd love the Puzzle League and Desert Island Escape minigames in New Horizons.
This game had so much potential to receive some cool features like New Leaf had but they gave up on this game so quick 😢
Because once greedy companies like this receives their big payout there is no reason to work on the game so they abandon the game completely. Yes. The social aspect just isn't there the same
I REDO my islands but NOT RESTARTING..NO WAY am I losing all my progress, villagers, and items

So it's only a new system unless you bought digitally, THEN it would be a new system and rebuy of the game. (I'm just being a bit nitpicky with the end of what you said, I agree with everything else you said)
@@ThatGirlKim Still, we don't want to have to buy an entire new switch for a second save
@@ThatGirlKimIf you bought it digitally you can just link the same Nintendo account to your 2nd Switch and redownload the game.
I’d restart if I could get all of the fruits without visiting other players islands. That was a really poor decision on the developers part
Unfortunately it's a good idea, because if you need to pay money for online use to get other fruit, then they're gonna make bank :(
Nook mile tickets to islands can get you all the fruit no?
Nope, you will still need to connect with someone else.@@dW-td2ul
@@dW-td2ul Nope, you will only get your sister fruit.
@@toykeyper8914 that's wack
yeee I aint restarting my island, had the same one from day-one game release date and put too many hours into it!
It’s totally worth picking up New Leaf. I’ve not played NH in 18 months
New Horizons is the best in terms of designing your island. The others are just better in every other aspect.
Yeah, waiting an entire day sucks but time traveling also sucks 'cause saving and loading the game is so slow 😂
Even earning bells without other players help is such a hassle😂
Not related but
And it's unfortunate that they didn't add train tracks and the train doesn't move around the island!😂
Hope they add more features like moving objects in the next game since the new switch should be more powerful than the current one.
And let players have more freedom when it comes to customizing the interior/exterior of the house😅
Sadly last year (on my birthday too😢) they shut down the online service on NH but don’t let that stop you from playing ❤
don't forget if you have happy home paradise all that progress has to be restarted. and I ain't doing that lol
I tell everyone just flatten your island, you will regret restarting!
This is the best suggestion tbh
I flattened a few months ago and I'm kinda bored with it already
Nah. Im a seriel restarter. Don’t regret it every time. But it depends on the person.
@@BlazeM23same here
I could NEVER restart my island, too much love was put into it over the years
I just started playing again after 4 years and 6 months.
Those poor villagers must've missed you so much 😭💓
@Crowsandstarlings They did, the poor dears. I have no intention of doing that again.
@@MyopicMaev Who are your villagers? 😄
I’m still struggling to get the last four art pieces for my museum, so there’s no way I’m resetting until I get that done! 😅
Speaking of Villagers missing us, hopefully next game when I abandon the game for 3+ years maybe not have them just go like 'oh hey your still alive' and then business as usual.
for some reason my switch stayed dated in 2021 which means i never rly got that
I wish they would offer an island flattening experience. Where you pay one of the npc’s to come in and flatten your island, giving you a way to soft reboot your island.
My villagers don’t miss me bc I play everyday still to keep up that 5 star island ranking😭
Same, I’ve been playing since release and it’s my favorite game ever, I got most of my dream villagers (some of them I just grew too attached to and can’t find the courage to let them go, until my Mom can get her own switch cus she wants to play the game with me)
How do I invite ppl to my island and how can I travel to someone's island i don't no anyone who plays this game?
@@peggynicholson2639 first you have to friend them on your switch, then you open the gates to your island in the airport, and finally your friend will select to go to someone else’s island at their airport and select to go to your island after selecting “I want to fly”
@@katylepetsos7512 ugh same it’s my fave and I have one of two of my dream villagers I can’t ever let them go
something out 5 years being considered "old" now is kind of scary.
Sure, I'll throw out my absolute trove of items and funds. Why not? Yeah, no. Not only no, Hell no.
If you plan to restart just know that it's going to take a lot of time and effort to get back to where you were, and some bits will feel old because you've played through it already, but if you persevere it can be a fun new experience as well~
After collecting all the fish and bugs as well as completing the museum, I ain't starting over. I'll do that again in the next Animal Crossing game.
Wait what?! But why tho? Especially if people worked hard on their islands!
Yeah, definitely don't want to start over. I try to check in at at least once a month and still do the happy home paradise.
Restart? What if I just started. I’m late to the party! lol
I just started playing this around the 6th or 7th January I need some friends guys I don't no anyone that plays this helppp lol 😂
Right lol like I just finished my fossils let alone restarting
Bob's Gang. I wish I had a second switch for myself so I could have my very own Southern Hemisphere island.
I'd love to have another hemisphere save i'm bored of summer and would like to experience a end of year/start of year winter.
If they had some way of transferring progress like in New Leaf Welcome Amiibo, (yet another feature that NH never got) I might've wanted to restart. As is, though, I wouldn't want to start the tedious grind for materials and bells again, as there'd barely be anything different gameplay-wise.
Since the new switch console is back ward compatable, let us start a NEW switch2 island and also keep our old ones
I don't think it's weird. I think it's just they want us to remember that we have the game, and to check in with our villagers
The only reason in still playing is because something went wrong with the island transfer from my OG switch to a new OLED one. I'm still trying to get all the DIYs and have one last villager to switch out. A patch making it easier to get DOYs you don't already have would be a blessing 😂 I'm just over 200 short of all of them and have a huge library that I keep forgetting to find people still playing who need DIYs to come along and take ones they don't have 😂😂
I will never reset my island. I worked so hard building it. And getting my dream islanders.
I have every villager pictures and no way am I starting all over.
I HAD to restart my island this year as unfortunately someone stole my switch at the end of last fall and I didn't have island cloud backup 3:
New horizons needed so many quality of life updates that it never got and it has all these incredible features that are severely hindered by stupid choices. How on earth we never got bulk crafting is the dumbest possible crab for a sandbox type game. It makes the game infuriating long term.
i really wish they hadn't abandoned the game. there was still so much missing from the game. multiplayer mini game islands, celestes tower, more building upgrades, improved dialogue for the villagers, more villagers on an island, better multiplayer features when joining a friend....
I got back into it by trying to get every villager photo and do my daily tasks. Still haven’t decorated my island 😂
They should've thought about that before they made our Pocket Camp bonus items impossible to get if we restart now that it's offline.
If we just get Animal Crossing New Horizons DX in lieu of an actual new Animal Crossing game for Switch 2, then I will be pissed.
I really wish Nintendo would rerelease new horizons on the next console with better performance and missing features
It's a pity I couldn't have kept my first island and have all the fun of a restart, just rebuilding it isn't the same.
add a option to flatten the island or save presets for islands. But QOL is not on nintendos menu almost all of the time. GL
Way to throw away your own legacy, Nintendo :-\
(Oh yeah, and Bob's Gang!
Just restarted my other extra island and working on a swampcore island. I'm having fun again redesigning my new island.
I want to play another island but I am absolutely not getting rid of my original island, I've put so many hours into it, it looks gorgeous
after all the work I put into my isle after all the coins and even just other NPC's to represent them and all the visitors that I got from it alone since I based the island off of my bunny series, people had actually when I had reddit at least, told me that they were impressed by my isle and even when inviting people over and saying the name SAWTOB they're like "Oh hey I Heard of that! I like them!" so no...hell no I wouldn't scrap my island after all the work I put in and how much recognition it had gotten me lol
Are we hoping for New Worlds beyond the Horizons? Placing houses in new directions, making Happy Home Communities like never before?
I had a villager meeting and Bob, Katt, Molly, Audie, Sherb, Lyman, Julian and Del said nope to restart. Gotta listen to my crew so it's a big NOPE!
All i want is catching fish and bugs with different size scores like in Pocket Camp and New Leaf...
Getting all of the diys took me a whole 3 years!!
many people: unable to start over
me: unable to progress to even get kk on the island before i start over...
I just restarted, my previous island had treasure island help. I’m now playing with no treasure island help, and playing as the game was meant to be played. , it’s harder, and takes waaay longer to pay off loans, I can’t save miles, as I use them on nook mile tickets….
I regretted restarting at first because I had my island for awhile. But I'm getting used to my new island now.
How about, more content? The items are always the same.
if they want us to keep playing, why not give us another uodate?
(Bob's gang)
i did restart my island, and now I regret it, I just don't have the desire to play as much to get my new island up to where my old one was.
Don't call it comeback, I was never away!
I seriously have played almost every day for the last five years. I occasionally skip a day but thats it. I drive truck for a living and having my own paradise of Put-in-Bay to visit whenever I need to feel calm or safe is so nice.
I didn’t restart my island I just got board and destroyed it so I could start designing it again then after I destroyed it all I stopped and thought wtf did I just do and I remembered it took me 3 years to build it
My switch decided to break (it wouldn’t turn on even when charged) but I got a new one for Christmas so technically that’s restarting for 2025?
That is what happened to mines and thought it would not turn on. But my brother pressed two buttons or so, and just like that, IT WAS TURNED ON! Thank God my switch was not broken...maybe yours was not either....
@ we took mine to an expert and he said he coudnt fix it so idk
