Thanks so much for watching! Have you used either of these brands? Or a different water based marker brand? Want to see me try out Artist's Lofts attempt at a water based marker line? Let me know ;D Hope y'all have a great weekend c: Drink water! 🥤

I've used staedtler watercolour markers but I realize now I didn't have any idea what I was doing - I liked what I made, but I could have been doing SO MUCH more. I've got a lot of crayolas for uh, reasons, and I'm surprised to find out they're a lot better than I was assuming they'd be. I'm excited to try them out with what I saw in this video! I'm primarily an alcohol marker user but the watercolour effects were so beautiful and look way more controllable than actual watercolours. (As an aside, your handle on reflections with the water was outstanding. Beautiful piece)

They can take some getting used to for sure, especially if you're coming from alcohol based markers (or vice versa in that case, haha). But thank you so much! I have another video where I talk more about using water based markers here: ua-cam.com/video/vfvU9xe7Mkg/v-deo.html If it'll help :) (Also so glad you like the water, goodness that was a PAIN lmao, thank you!) GL with your art! ^^

Kingart has twin-tip water based markers too. You could give them a comparison/try. I found that brand at Walmart and is cheaper than Tombow if I remember.

I heart "Artist Loft" and immediately got the rage twitchies. :p (That said, their marker paper is actually half decent. Not quite as nice a blend as I can get on Strathmore, but it's half the price, so it's good for playing around on.) Thank you for another video! I have a few Tombow just for doing outlines and accents in my sketchbook, but I don't think I could stand to use them for a full piece. I'm too used to alcohol markers at this point.

Haha, for real! xD Interesting to hear about their marker paper though! Maybe I'll have to give that a glance at some point. I've used my old grey Tombow in the past for outlines/accents before, and it was fun for that. I definitely get being too used to alcohol markers though, those are great too ^^ Thanks for watching! :D

You're so talented! I love what you did with both markers!
And hey, I have that same notepad with the wanted poster of Jim Raynor! LMAO

Aw thank you!! I had to look that up, I was confused for a second xD I don't know anything Starcraft. It's my partner's notepad that I stole, haha. That's so funny though. Cheers, thanks for watching ^^

When you said you are using Crayola classic, are you saying you're not using the washable Crayola markers here? The Amazon link you have is the super washable kind, so I'm just curious.

Live commenting - how can you have art supplies sitting for ages without even opening and swatching? Even when I know I won't get to them forever, I ALWAYS open and swatch.
That second green looks like a teal. I like when there's a teal.
    Hey, that's my sticker!!!
Boooo - all sets should have a purple.
    Duck!
I don't really use water-based markers. Mostly cos they always pill for me. Maybe I should try blending it out with a water brush like you.

I wanted to save my live reactions for the video xD Though I ended up not using the footage after all that, haha. And yes, if you give them a go again, definitely try with water brushes or even regular brushes. Makes a massive difference! :)

There's cheap Chinese aplhabet soup name brands on Amazon that compare to the overrated and overpriced tombow. Not everyone can drop 25 bucks for 10 markers. Crayola beats that. They have adult coloring markers too

Oh for sure! A lot of these big name brands prices are for the name, less so the quality of the product. Copic is super famous for that, haha. Loads of alternatives that work just as well. :)
