The Arizona Desert is ALIVE | Exploring the Tonto National Forest

In the depths of another Washington winter, Christine and I needed a change of scenery (and some sunshine!). So, we made like retirees and headed to Arizona ... and hit the trails in a rented Toyota Tacoma to get a taste of what overlanding in the Arizona desert was like.

Sometimes I like calling the North East home because of all the people and places I know and I'm familiar with, but even as someone whos been traveling his whole life since 3 years old, the west gets me every time.

We'd love to explore the North East, but yeah .... there's just SO MUCH great public land to explore west of the Rockies (and no one around on most of it!)
