Otha Libby here, one of the guys who recorded Ghost Train in Syracuse, NY waaaaayy back in 1964. I like what you've done here. I'm curious how you managed to leave out Jack Revelle's original lead guitar in order to use the rest of the song (me on rhythm guitar and Bobby Jones on drums) as a backing track.

WAAOW ! I just can't believe it. Thank you so much. I'm a huge fan of this tune, which I probably discovered on a compilation released in the 80s. I used to play it with my band. On this channel I try to pay a tribute to the songs that really mattered in my life and I had to do this one. I'm now really honored to talk to the guy who was holding the rhythm guitar. Now for your question, I didn't leave out anything, you can still hear Jack's guitar behind mine, it's just that I'm much louder. So it's a play-over, which requires to be quite faithful to the original line. I'm not fully in sync and it shows in the solos, so Jack and I are basically playing together. But he really shines on that one and there's parts where I'm not even close to what he does. Anyway.. you just made this whole channel worth it ! Have a nice day !

@@telecasterjunior7441 You are welcome and most kind. I continue to be amazed at the staying power of Ghost Train, which Jack, Bobby and I composed in the span of about one hour prior to going to the recording studio and which we recorded in four takes. You probably fount the song on an album called strictly instrumental. If you choose to search, a British magazine called Pipeline did a 5 page story on our band and Ghost Train several years ago; volume 92 I think. Where do you live, by the way.

That’s a « visual » lesson :-). Some subscribers prefer it that way. This leaves room for guessing a bit, which is part of the fun.
