The girl that sang Vision Of Love is prime example of what you should do when you sing a song by Mariah. Use what's in your skillset to pay homage to the song but the parts that you can't do, make it your own and own it.

They all have good voices. Mariah Carey songs are REALLY hard to sing. Vision Of Love and Hero singers though, are WOW! Of course nobody compares to Mariah, but they were really good.

Her voice is beyond imitation . as a matter of fact Mariah discovered the ability to whistle totally by accident and since then , well you know she wrote her own history !

Immitating and singing are two different things and let's be honest , there is nobody else performing Mariah's songs better than Mariah herself . Those are facts man , the woman was a pioneer introducing to the world the music in a different perspective, technically and physically she went above and beyond vocally speaking of course . Every song she did had her personal signature ... The same goes with Whitney Houston, Celine Dion , Lara Fabian , Tony Braxton and many more . You can't touch those masterpieces and attempt to do the same things they did ... Listen man , Tom Jones was the biggest voice in his era and even though two guys tried to immitate his vocals the result is just for cringe and laughter . 👍

During an audition , contestants are not here to copy the original version of the singer. Otherwise doesnt make sense. They need ti have their own style
