I am currently in the process of possibly ordering a “Rig” from Not A Wheelchair. I can’t wait. Love the work you Gus do.
Not a wheelchair is definitely my favorite part of JerryRigEverything. I love all the tear down / building / testing stuff too, but this just gives me the warm fuzzies.
Hey Zach, Aerospace Laser machinist here. I'm located in Utah and would love to give some tips if you would like them. With the right Laser parameters you can eliminate the dross completely, allowing for a cleaner and safer cut. Love the work! keep it up!
Just happened upon your channel today - and immediately got hooked. Love all your content - but mostly your charitable spirit and the way you care for Cambry (and how she inspires you). My wife and I take care of a young man with cerebral palsy a few days a month and will definitely stay tuned as you get economical wheelchairs built. Love it!!!
Back in the mid-80s my dad was sent to Germany to learn how to support & maintain John Deere's laser cutting system that was used to cut harvester parts. It was probably as powerful as that $100,000 laser but cost several times more than Oshcut's larger laser system. It's awesome that the price has come down so much that smaller businesses can use these tools to make great things for people.
I have the utmost respect for both of you. You are paying it forward on a scale that is an example for others. You will go from strength to strength with that ethos. As a person with a disability, legally blind, I fully grasp how inaccesable important necessary items can be, fortunately low tech items are available as well and gets the job done.
Just picked up a black to help support you. Have fully enjoyed your videos as you have the heart of a DYI guy. Loved the hummer project. I have a close friend with cerebral palsy and fully appreciate what it means to have mobility support.

Hey Zack, I just had an idea for making some prototypes. Use 1/2 pvc, then all you’d need to do is print the elbows if you need custom angles, like 30° bends. That way you won’t waste metal and money if the design doesn’t actually work out. I used to work at a wheelchair manufacturer, it’s not that hard to build them. You need a tubing bender and welder more than the other gadgets. The solid tires are glued together and the rolling wheel handles are dipped and baked in an oven.
I'm so behind in your videos. Congratulations on your baby on the way! I still have the knock knees and the orthopedic is still in high hopes that I can recover from it. One of my friends gave me a free used wheel chair. I so want a garden like your wife.

For perfectly oriented(clocked) bends, you can laser a hole into the piece to be bent at the appropriate distance from the bend center and drill the bending jig to accept a T-handle pin, for production scale it would remove a lot of potential errors and wasted material. An encoder, electric hydraulic valve and arduino with a display and a couple buttons could be easily made up and programmed to give repeatable accurate bends every time as well.
