When you're about to get hit by a wave, put up your sails and press g. Bracing gives damage reduction and ships that arent moving take less wave damage and they stack. The smallest damage I've gotten from the smallest wave was literally 9 and the biggest damage from the biggest wave was 200. Plus you can solo the dark sea WITHOUT using any cargo when doing this. Sure you will need atleast like 1.5k-2k galleons so that you can repair your ship with the bronze hammer but it works fine anyways. Literally never bought any cargo when going into the dark sea ever since the update. And also since negative reps can get cargo for free, vetex actually changed it before the update so that stolen cargo repairs less than normal bought cargo
The build I use on my ship gives 94% stability and 82 turning, makes dealing with the environmental dangers really easy. Plus if you pick up enough loot you do get some money, which can then be spent on repairs with the hammer, allowing you to stick around longer. And yeah while some might not like the whole thing with stolen cargo repairing less then bought cargo does, it at least removes an unfair advantage that villians would have.
@@Mattssz I did the math, paying for it is far more effective, trust me, plus sincee it repairs more you save space. If you wanted to repair 400 points of ship hull with the hammer alone, it will cost you 66 or so galleons, whereas the cargo only costs 50, so your saving 16 galleons, which doesn't sound like much, but it really adds up, its also faster then doing it by hand, and since villians only get 200 hull repair per crate, they will need twice as many, and twice as much time waiting for the crew to make the repairs.
I had 14 sealed chest and stopped at an island to collect some loot. Heard a giant sound of cannons and looked back to a heavy Atlantean ship attacking my ship. Needless to say, I got stranded. That thing does not MESS AROUND!!
The dark sea bosses arn't push overs, they can easly kill you if you arn't carful. Not only can the bosses spawn anywhere in the dark sea but they also move really fast and deal a lot of damage. If you find your self being chased by a sea monster you can shoot it with you ship attachments to scare it off.
nothing in the dark sea is a pushover, i got annihalated by a random atlantean that spawned on a snowy dark sea island in insanity 0 range, maybe wouldnt have if id given as much attention to my own weapons as a warrior as i did my ship, went in there with half-upgraded elius weapons
If you're going to a siren's nest, if they have three just don't bother fighting them, go around to the side they aren't facing and steal all the chests, if there are 6 this still might work but I'm not entirely sure
4:18 just a quick exception, brigs wrecks have a chance of spawning 1 sealed chest, so keep an eye out for them lads. One more sealed chest for a ship with no enemies is quite a steal

Just some facts: - you only need at least 85% stability to get no damage for the wild waters. - in the highest point of the islands there are always some chests, and the taller the peak, the more loot it has. - to get to the insanity 2 range you'll have to navigate 20 minutes from the start of the dark sea. - with a piece of the theurgist set (only obtainable by opening dark sealed chests), a virtuous exotic enchantment scroll (only obtainable by fishing in the dark sea or opening dark sealed chests) or a warding potion (made by using at least 1 golden petal (obtainable in dark sea islands in groups of 4) for warding 1, 5 for warding 2, 10 for warding 3, 5 narwhal horns (only obtainable by fishing in the dark sea or opening dark sealed chests) for warding 4 and 10 for warding 5. by the way the least they last is 9 minutes (with perfect breawing skill)) you get point(s) of warding. this is useful when in the insanity ranges because it reduces (or nullifies if the warding stat is higher than the insanity) the insanity effects.
a quick note about the dark sea compass, you can get it from normal sailor chests. After the most recent update though they may be obtainable from any treasure chest. don't know if it's been changed such that they only come from dark sea/underwater chests
i've noticed that playing in a server with little to no other players makes things generate faster and more consistently. so, if you can, play in a server late at night!

I can in fact confirm you can get some great loot from shipwrecks/abondoned ships i was in i think a glitched server and i was going in a straight line directly into the dark sea for a good hour and i never got to insanity not even 1 i came back after looting a good 200 gold chests and like 500 silver chests and i had i think it was 103 sealed chests so i chucked a t5 elixir luck potion and opened em all up at silverhold while i killed commodore kai and decided to take over silverhold all woth no breaks or nothing all alone and i took silverhold with some minor competition from 4 people who really wanted that badge -the mayor of yappville
the best way, is to find atlantean ships at insanity range 1, and then boom you get chests, ALOT of them, thats not counting chests you find in island you come across. trust me, 30mins of this in insanity range 1 and i got 11 chests (counting the travelling time)
for the sirens if you have magic that can destroy the island u can just use your magic to destroy the walls to make a tunnel to the chests and not fight them
Here a tip for dark sea if u have ketch I recommend to do cargo till 20k after this got use caravel for bronze chest after that equip what u got from the chest when u arrived to dark sea stay in the range 0 for 10 minutes to adapt because it’s gonna be very unstable to sail after that I recommend to stay area insanity for a lot of time to train ur self if u want to go up to 2+ insanity get a armor with warden 2+ it’s gonna be very useful as it’s removes the insanity and for looting u won’t find anyone looting ur chest or anything but if u see a chest in the area u are about to loot I recommend just sail to another island

The Atlanteans are relentless they will follow your boat to the next islands if you aren't careful same with the Atlantean brigs they will tail you to island to island and ruin your boat near instantly if your not carful
sneaking up on then with invisibility and then charging up an attack that can kill one or two of them from the start is another good way of getting rid of them@@arceyplayz
if you are a mage make use of placed explosions that can be used to hit them from places that they cant hit you shockwave is best for hitting them around most corners and if you can get them to fall of a medium sized cliff that they can't climb up quickly from you can sometimes used placed pillar explosions to hit them repeatedly when they can't hit you.
as a Someone who solo-ing dark sea almost everytime i'd telling That u need at least Brig that has 17-18K Durabilty and at least 90 Stabilty and don't forget u also need minimum 70 Resilience and speed the dark sea waves are gotta be SOOO Extreme, So you need a better prepare. especially when you are Going alone Make sure you are bring Cargos, or if u don't wanna you can bring a hammer repair But make sure u had extra money like 2K for minimum Remember always pressing G when there's Waves because it Will reduce The damages just that

I just found cheesing Atlanteans by the walls funny. Also, the cargo for repairs is difficult if the Navy keeps coming at me. So I just resorted to my trusty Bronze Hammer. Recently came back with 8 chests.

How do I fix laggy inputs? The game itself isn't laggy but inputs such as turning the ship, activating abilities on weapons or magic or lifting/putting down sails all takes 1 extra second to complete. What do I do?
0:46 bronze or iron carronades are better than dragonfire cannons heres an explanation: bronze carronades have the same stats than dragon fire but the dragon fire take more speed out of your ship and for the fire to be touching the enemy ship u have to be EXTREMLY close to it and iron carronades do more damage
I use explosive cannonballs and the T2 amplifier to increase range on it to 1.2, it's really good. And yes in my playstyle I go really close because I can't see in the dark sea 😭

In this video I didn't use cargo OR use money to repair. With high enough speed, you can quite literally just go around and doge waves 💀

Ive never had any cargo or repaired my ship in dark sea so it really isnt a problem in insanity 0-1
ghost ships also lead to dark sea diving spots, but it can be extremely dangerous cause 1 bite from giant white eyes would get you killed

With the cargo thing, if you’re a hero, take the ravenna cargo quest and you can get as much cargo as you want at ravenna for free.

If your ship has enough durability i recommend putting an archaic mortar on it. It has the most dps out of the mortars and shreds ships.

the dark sea waves are gotta be SOOO Extreme, So you need a better prepare. especially when you are Going alone
Make sure you are bring Cargos, or if u don't wanna you can bring a hammer repair But make sure u had extra money like 2K for minimum
Remember always pressing G when there's Waves because it Will reduce The damages

Also, the cargo for repairs is difficult if the Navy keeps coming at me.
So I just resorted to my trusty Bronze Hammer.
Recently came back with 8 chests.
You can kinda cheese the ships because sometimes waves wash everybody expect the boss off the ship
you didn't tell me how to not die from the fleet of brigs that constantly rush me lmao
In this run I somehow managed to not get any form of atlantean npc ship or boss whatsoever, I'll be making a pro dark sea guide soon enough.

Dude is the dark sea compass still the same? because the white is now blue and when I entered the dark sea I couldnt get out even though I followed the purple pointer I just went deeper and got insanity 2
It is changed, purple pointer is now towards the dark sea, and blue means towards the normal sea
@@arceyplayz AHHHH, why did nobody tell this!!! My brig was decimated trying to get out I searched the wiki and Reddit but by the time I realized it was too late my brig was mashed down to 3k health so I just left the game.

That is just a suicide, only use the atlantean ships as free repairs
Attack them strategically, single them out if you can, and only attack fortified when solo. A single heavy ship took out my entire squad once.

There are stormsalt candles that are dark sea exclusive which make your ship glow purple 👍

Broken armor, basically lightning took my armor off of my arm so thats why that happened.
Sometimes when you fight your armor will fall off, not sure if it affects defence though

Insanity 0 zone definitely spawns atlantean mutants I've met atleast 1 or 2 in every island.
When i enter on the dark sea with my sketch i already got 1 insanity
ive been sailing for 30 minutes and i still cant get out i was on 0 insanity 😭
Tip: Buy every boat so when your brig dies , So you can switch to ketch

Another thing: Stay vigilant to glitchy bs, I have died to glitches so many times, and it’s so annoying losing all your chests cause of some glitch.
I keep on making sure that I don't go in the dark sea with the Ravenna cape but it still doesn't rain for me. Does it just not rain in the range with no insanity?
It's a weird bug and sometimes the dark sea works without the rain which is even weirder

How do I fix laggy inputs? The game itself isn't laggy but inputs such as turning the ship, activating abilities on weapons or magic or lifting/putting down sails all takes 1 extra second to complete. What do I do?

0:46 bronze or iron carronades are better than dragonfire cannons
heres an explanation:
bronze carronades have the same stats than dragon fire but the dragon fire take more speed out of your ship and for the fire to be touching the enemy ship u have to be EXTREMLY close to it
and iron carronades do more damage
I use explosive cannonballs and the T2 amplifier to increase range on it to 1.2, it's really good. And yes in my playstyle I go really close because I can't see in the dark sea 😭

Depends on what magic you use for conjurer, and U have to go 150 weapons and 100 magic.
Dark sea could be more dangerous especially the ketch but if i grind alone with my friends clan maybe i should quit
