lin zeng i beg to differ. this is the first time i heard someone said his previous songs relied on 'the best part of a music to make it appealing'. for me, his older songs, 'beijing beijing' for instance, were significantly fuller in taste, with a very fine balance between the vocal and the band, not to mention the prolonged end solos that pull you further on even after the 'best' part is past. i would only say this new album goes a bit closer to a commercial one in the composition of individual songs: shorter, condensed and, sadly, plunging right into the 'best' and then it is past. no after taste. no building up or lingering of mood.
