TheTsar's 'disgusting secret' (revealed at 16:45) was that he had body odour. In case you didn't want to sit through the entire video to find that out. 😊
thank you!
Thanks
😂😂😂❤
Thanks I was starting to think the secret was fake.
Dang.... thanks for clearing that up. I was prepared to wait it out because I had a bet with my friend that he had micro penis ,or he was a minute man. Lmbo😂😂😅
Wow! I can't even imagine her life. Never a dull moment. Having read up on the lives of other courtesans in history she breezed through the trail of men who appreciated her gifts. I am assuming if she had contracted a dread disease it would have been mentioned. Syphilis was the scourge of the day for women in her profession. She lived to her nineties. I am impressed.
The picture you are using at the start of this video is actually Lina Cavilleri, the Italian opera singer. The women looked a little similar but Cavilleri who was referred to as the most beautiful girl in the world was the greater beauty. You need to check more carefully to ensure you are using the correct photos
Why you mix her real pics with videos and images that are not hers?
Nonsense, Nicolas II was completely in love with his own wife Alix.
A lot of men that loved their wives had affairs then, and still now.
Beauty, real beauty has nothing to do with a pretty face or body. It’s to do with the person. Look at Mona Lisa. Enigmatic, mysterious and with a delightful little smirk. Beauty is intelligence, or compassion, kindness or a quick wittiness. Beauty is fine, but if you can have great conversation and laugh night after night? You decide.
I basically agree - one's "attractiveness" is heigtened by wit, personality, etc. I'd add that deas of beauty change through the ages, though some factors remain constant. Mona Lisa was never considered a beauty but an enigma, and there continues to be speculation that it's actually the artist's self-portrait.
In a perfect world but try being ugly and see how that turns out for you. Trust me I know.
Never heard of her. Interesting. Thanks.
Thanks for listening
Elle est née à Ponte Valga (Galice, Espagne) et pas à Valga (Estonie) !
Thank you
Great video and well-told story! Just feeding the Algorithm...😊 -🌴 just me in Palm Springs 🌴
This was fascinating - and so heartbreaking the terrible things done to her as a child. 😢
Same with Marilyn
Given Tsar. Nicholas’ devotion to his wife I find her claim about him unbelievable.
Me too.
Me three
Me four
Nicolas had lovers. They were just that - lovers only . Princess Alex was his true love. It was normal for royalty to have sexual liaisons. Doesn’t mean it was love or it meant anything to them.
Tsar Nicholas was a spoiled autocrat. His wife was a feather brained aristocrat who believed in Rasputins mystical “powers” to cure her son’s haemophilia. We will never know who he slept with or didn’t . No one in his circle would ever tell. One night would be inflated into a full blown affair. I wonder why she never had children? Very clever in her era.
5 “centuries”?
Meant decades?
They were saying that she had enough wild experiences that would take up 5 centuries of lifetime, yet she managed to fit it into 97 years.
Who is the true narrator of this channel? It seems like every time I listen someone new narrates.
Some good, some bad! This guy was good!
There's a Scottish guy who narrates with some frequency. I wish he did them all. He's great.
@@12thDecember I know who you are talking about. 👍🏻
AI
They are a group of nerds .. their words, not mine .. who just put out truthful facts about all sorts of things. Really interesting people, with interesting knowledge to share.
Apparently La Belle Otero had no gaydar.
Sounds like it.
It wasn't really a thing back then.
@@ladyv5655 It was invented in 1954 by Liberace?😂
Very much enjoyed . Fascinating life .
Very.
Wasn´t she also known as the Suicide Lady because several of her lovers or would be rejects killed themselves over her ? She was friends with the French writer Colette and had a great rival courtesan Liane de Pougy who was thought to be more high class. I believe a Mexican Movie was made about her in the 1960s. Cornelia Otis Skinner wrote about her and other French Courtesans in a book dealing with Elegant Wits and Grand Horizontals.)(1962), Nice work.
The Mexican actress you constantly used to illustrate the video is the very famous Maria Félix, by the way much more beautiful than “La Bella Otero” in my opinion.
She lived a full life, but was not imo, beautiful.
Nope. 😮 But beauty is subjective.
Does our definition of beauty matter. She must have had something that attracted others.
Like
Mrs. Simpson, she may have had that charm that doesn’t translate in a photograph.
Charm and personality cannot be photographed.
Beauty is subjective. And changed each decade. Twiggy and Marilyn come to mind.
Not sure I believe the story of the affair with Nicholas II. It's hard to tell from the storyline, but I think by that time be was married to Alexandra, his (seemingly) one true love. He was however, a notorious chain-smoker, so maybe he stank of nicotine. Nicholai and Peter were his uncles and infamous (Nicholai especially) for running around Europe and generally being scandelous.
I’m with you. Seems a cheap shot against the younger Tzar who was devoted to his wife.
@@claireryan8074 well the story is that Nicholas' father Alexander III arranged for an affair between Nicholas and a lead ballerina, Mathilde Kschinskaya, to show him the sexual ropes. But that was long before he got married.
Tell us about Liane de Pougy next?
👍🏻interesting. Very good.
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
thank you
Mexican Maria Feliz was very beautiful and shouldn’t be compared to this lady, or used to showcase talented and wise women in in that time.🥴
Well done.
Lots of footage from "French Can-Can" here.
I wish I could tell which of these pix were her and which were from movies about her. I’d love to watch the movies. Very interesting
Think you, never heard of her but had quite a life though she must have been quite charming and highly intelligent because beautiful she was not.
I agree!
Sounds like Madonna
Very good video! Thanks 🙏
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐La Belle had a very fascinating life.
The original 'Girl power' maybe 🤔😉
Thank you for this very interesting story. Is there a movie about La Belle Ottero ?
Yes there is. La bella Otero is played by actress Natalia Verbeke. It is a Spanish movie.
@@Pipavir75 Thank you. I will try to find it with subtitles. Muchas gracias. 🙏🏻
It;s a shame that she came after the conclusion of the Flashman novels. She was the type of a historical figure that made the novels so great,
She kinda looked manly- but i guess back then she was considered beautiful
Look up the real photo of La Belle Otera because these are not her. Lol
I think I love this woman! La Belle had balls the size of the Golden Gate Bridge poetically speaking. Right or wrong she lived her life to the fullest and never looked back. You go, girl!
Not to judge, but wonder what she found at the pearly gates.
Well,I don't see any beauty at her at the photos.
Most interesting
My first thought, how did she not get pregnant?
On the basis of a few old photos, some are stating that she wasn't pretty or beautiful. I discovered many years ago that the beauty of some women is not caught in photographs. I decided that a large part of beauty lies in the way the woman moves, and in intelligence.
On the other hand some women that look beautiful in photographs are not in real life. And, weirdly, some women, beautiful in real life, just left me cold. No attraction at any level. "Oh my god she's beautiful - why don't i feel anything?" was the question i never found an answer to, but i suspect pheromones.
So, i feel that "she wasn't pretty" is over simplistic :)
This is not a unique story - unfortunately.
There were many poor but pretty young women who followed her career path back in the day. They were a foil for the good girls many men married. In today's world that no longer applies.
How did she never get pregnant
Her reproductive organs probably got damaged from her initial assault. Sad! Just my hypothesis
I wondered the same thing
Perhaps she was sterile?
Also, how did she never get veneral diseases?
The guy who "really stank" had the mistress that was super jealous, so, maybe she was trying to, uh, mark her territory to subtly get back at the man/other woman 😭. Not saying that she stank(though, maybe...) but she could have easily contaminated his cologne with fish oil or something 🤷 - that would be hysterical
I thought French men were known to appreciate older women. La Belle had a very fascinating life.
What "beauty"?
Pain Jane 🤪
Pain?
Do you mean Plain Jane?
She was nothing more than a high-priced call girl & not much of a looker, sorry. Shallow women don't impress me.
Not really very pretty. She must have known tricks.
She really wasn't that attractive.
“La Belle Otello”? It’s distracting.
In this channel we can just write that she was beautiful. If we write what she really was they take away your comments and make youtube threat you. Free speech and own oppinion are not wellcome here.
looked like a young Queen Victoria
.
There is a lot of people that smell
BAD & don’t know how to bath ….. Disgusting
Are you sure, not at all
