Hey, "mom"..if you watch more, in advance, let you know to get lyrics in advance, and, ALWAYS watch their credits, present from some years to now..fans won't forgive that, and i agree..give credit to all participants in the art they produce.. About this video you reacted...it is so early in their career..compare with live..One thing: After accident in 1996, they certified themselves as pyrotecnicians and never again had an accident, even though, their live shows are the BEST, ..lots of fire and pyro..or big cannons shooting foam.. You've been missing a lot..Their videos, are fantastic 95% of times! The most powerful, is although..the message layers! They were borned in DDR..no wonder.. Videos are to many to recommend, but maybe this order.. Deutschland, Zeit, Adieu, Radio, Amerika, Sonne....and live.. Mein Teil, Engel, Du Hast(Paris)..Mutter, so many i can't say all.. some very few balads/love songs..

one thing about Rammstein is that the Lead singer really knows his way around pyrotechnics and mechanisms so their live shows are full of fire and fireworks and explosions and even large mechanical things like moving platforms to stand on it must be amazing to see up close

The lead singer (Till Lindemann) doesn't just "know" his way around pyrotechnics, he actually is a fully licenced pyrotechnician.
Rammstein is still touring. I saw them live in Chicago last September. Words cannot describe how amazing that show was. I can't wait to see them again.
Awesome that you liked your introduction to Rammstein. Their most famous song is "Du hast", and they also became really popular across the pond, although they don't have English lyrics.
I'd recommend live versions of Rammstein songs (if possible). Since their frontman Til is a certified pyrotechnician, although the effects may look scary or even harmful, he knows exactly what he's doing.

That video was one of their first ones and made around 1997. They just published a new album with very good and impressive songs and videos.
You should have watched "Engel" in live Version. It is less disturbing, but much more spectacular, because of the pyrotech effects Rammstein is famous for. Their musical direction (they co-founded) is called NDH (Neue Deutsche Härte). Others Bands of thus direction are Eisbrecher or Megaherz - all of them "singing" in Deutsch.
Should have is something I cannot take back … this is the link I got and I do first reactions so did not know what is coming or if I should have done another version ….no regrets 😉

are often critical of society,but often with a bit of humor thrown in.

Who recommended this song for the first listen. "Zeit"must be the song, you feel so much emotions when hearing and watching it. Plus their music and style is fully developed by these later releases.

The scene with dancing with a snake and pouring alcohol down the leg reminds me of the movie From Dusk Till Dawn.

The video was added 7 years ago to youtube, but the song is from much older, from 1997. That's some early classic Rammstein - the band was formed in 1994!
They've released their 8th album last year, "Zeit", which was a masterpiece and number 1 in many countries, you've already reacted to the first single, "Zeit". :)

The official videos are well done and worth watching. At the live shows, there are fans who refuse to get in the front rows. It's called the fire zone...
I know two live versions of this song. The newer is the better:
Rammstein - Engel (Live from Madison Square Garden)
Rammstein formed in 1994 when the metal scene exploded with creativity. Trash metal was on German mainstream radio and was replaced by techno. Rammstein tried to combine both. They were and are stylistically so influential that they were given a subgenre, Neue Deutsche Härte (NDH).
(Non)Funfact: Since fire was a part of their show from the beginning, they wanted to give themselves a fiery name. They came to Ramstein Airport because there had been a fireball plane crash there that killed 70 people and injured 1000. They soon realized it was a pretty tasteless name, but Ram(m)stein suited the music too well. They only deleted the additional airport and denied the connection for years.
I saw them live for the first time last summer in Montreal, and I was quite far from the scene, and I could feel really well the heat of the giant flamethrower!
As many have already said, it's impressive but not dangerous, as Till (the singer) is a very careful pyrotechnician. He uses on stage some big flamethrower w/o putting in danger any of his musician or audience member. You should watch the live version of "Mein Teil" to see of all fire crazyness, and how funny their staging is! ^^

I'd reply to your response but I'm busy listening/watching Metal Monday already haha. Rammstein are a good laugh! Out of all the metally type music they are, I wouldn't mind listening to them, good running music I can imagine!
Du Hast is their most famous song, made famous from the film XXX with Vin Diesel, or at least that was my experience of first hearing it. And it terms of views being high or not there are too many factors to count! This time of year is especially strange and unpredictable.

Just for info - Rammstein is a giant USA military airbase near to Frankfurt. Lots of the bombing raids to the Middle East and Afghanistan were started there.

Yes more rammstein. This vid is so crazy. All their vids are like movies. Doing the live versions are great but i say start with all the original vids and work up to the new ones. Just go to their page and get the vids there. They been out since 1994.

No, please no Twisted Sister. Glam metal should have been banned. They never understood what metal is about. The show and radio suitability was always the most important thing. The 10 years that glam existed were bad enough.
The first real metal band for me is Iron Maiden. They create the New Way of British Heavy Metal, which today is simply called Heavy Metal. In the early 1980s they had their breakthrough with their third singer (who later also became their fifth and current singer). They still fill stadiums to this day. But they are a bit dusty to my ears. The current single, which sounds a bit more modern:

I can listen to very few and selected songs from Rammstein - and that only in the recorded versions. Live Till Lindemann is overdoing the dark and agressive singing, at least to my ears.
