Very nice! I have a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE and I absolutely love it. That car cured my manual itch and is my first straight drive. My parents have a 08 G8GT that is bone stock minus a custom dyno tune to turn the DOD off. It made a tiny bit more power but the shift points are amazing and she will chirp second gear no problem. I'm hoping I can buy it from my parents one day as a fun project car. It still surprises me and I was just thinking the last time that I drove it that it could probably take scat packs with just a little work to it.
Like the wheel color choice with the silver 👌🏽 do an exhaust video next of the car wanna get some ideas of how I want my car exhaust tone , with a cam , debated a tastefull balance tone or loud and call it a day 😂🦅
That Yank 4000 stall is way too much converter for that car. When are all y'all going to stop with all these high stall converters? It isn't good for the trans and damn sure isn't good for a daily driver.
For those of us in Cali, what improvements can I do that won't affect me passing smog? Other than moving to Utah? 😁 Will the converter affect my smog results in any way?
I would call Yank themselves to be sure but I would say that it shouldn’t affect your emissions in anyway. Your idle might have to be adjusted depending on how aggressive of converter that you get. Tuning is typically required with the “loose” ones. Thats where the STR number comes into play. Low str (tight) high str (loose) low str (easier off the line) high str (hits hard, need sticky tires)
Best mod for the car is the one that stops it from blowing up. if you dont deal with the needle bearings in your rocker arms its just a matter of time before it blows up. all these niggas out here being cheap and not installing a good torque converter. when u dont, the car cant handle the other upgrades PROPERLY and all that extra vibration does what to stock rocker arms? this is the WHY behind "shaft mounted rocker arms" as well as the kits that remove needle bearings all together. Gl gb. (i have a '16 that came with a fully built engine and it still blew up, bc the previous person didnt understand, and they sucked at math.) (proof attached.) See notes below Disassemble notes: -#6 intake rocker is broken and pushrod is stuck in valve cover -#7 intake lifter roller severely worn down and damaged cam lobe -Both rocker stands are shimmed with snap rings -Spark plugs show vehicle was very rich -#6 exhaust rocker has one broken snap ring on trunnion -Most valve tips are mushroomed -#4, 5 and 7 cylinder walls are badly scored. #7 has the deepest and may need sleeved -Found broken rocker and snap ring pieces in oil pan -#6 exhaust lifter roller is ground down to the pin, mushroomed lifter body and severely gouged lifter bore - will need bushed -#1 main bearing is worn past the copper, crankshaft main journal is badly gouged and damaged Engine has the following upgrades: -Rocker arms have BTR trunnion upgrade (shoulda did the che kit) -Camshaft is BTR Stage 2 NA -Dual aftermarket valve springs -Aftermarket rear seal cover -Johnson lifters -7.600" pushrods (starts of the bad math) -ARP balancer bolt -Melling oil pump -Mahle pistons, standard bore

Nice G8, you nailed the wheel/tire combo and it looks great!
Thanks! 👍🏾
This actually helped a lot I didn’t know what to do in regards of a torque converter than you
Glad I could contribute
Your torque converter needs to match your combo. There is absolutely no need for a Yank 4000 in this car, especially a daily driver.
You got a gem my brother 🔥 great content. I will have to get me a stall soon.
I appreciate the feedback
@@JLikesCarsI got me a 09 GXP bro 22K miles . 6 speed ..
Pontiac for Life🔥🔥
Fo life!
I need my g8 on my channel at this this stage plus the cam and E85 once we boost it 😅 at that point daily driver now turns in to weekend warrior 👀🏎️🦍
beautiful car bro! i need to look into something similar, currently just have a stage 1 cam on my g8
Thank you. You'll need a tune to compensate for the cam and converter. It's worth it. You'll pick up 2-3mph in the 1/4 mile if you get a Yank
Great simple tips✊🏾
Clean G8 bruh 🔥 don’t ever sell it!
That's the plan!
Clean build 🙌🏽🔥
I appreciate it!

I have a catback from Pypes that i bought but decided that i didnt like em vs what i already have. I’ll do a vid and let yall decide
Nice car :) I do prefer the front end we have here in australia tho (VE commodore)
“You have to get you a torque converter”
“That’s why you slow”
Straight facts I need a 3800 stall
Get it from Yank, My Boi!!!!
😂

Go get em!!! You know it!!!
You know it!!
What ground kit that is I have the same color g8 I love the kit what company can I buy it from
Still think the VE Commodore front end looks better on em.
I agree
I love the HSV front ends myself
beautiful 😍
Thanks a lot!
What ground kit is that I have same color g8 I was wondering how it looks I like it
What you think about reliability on these cars with 100k and up miles

What body kit is that ?
How much did the converter and install cost?
Converter was around $800. Install and tune $1000.
@@JLikesCars that's not bad at all
🤝🏾💯💯
I appreciate it
Im cammed and im having camaro 3.27 gears and circle d converter put in soon cant wait. Any other recommendations?
Make sure your tuner is good with tuning the tranny too

Engine experienced a lifter and trunnion failure
Removed engine from vehicle.
Disassembled to evaluate failure and damage.
Engine has major damage. See notes below
Disassemble notes:
-#6 intake rocker is broken and pushrod is stuck in valve cover
-#7 intake lifter roller severely worn down and damaged cam lobe -Both rocker stands are shimmed with snap rings
-Spark plugs show vehicle was very rich
-#6 exhaust rocker has one broken snap ring on trunnion
-Most valve tips are mushroomed
-#4, 5 and 7 cylinder walls are badly scored. #7 has the deepest and may need sleeved
-Found broken rocker and snap ring pieces in oil pan
-#6 exhaust lifter roller is ground down to the pin, mushroomed lifter body and severely gouged lifter bore - will need bushed
-#1 main bearing is worn past the copper, crankshaft main journal is badly gouged and damaged
Engine has the following upgrades: -Rocker arms have BTR trunnion upgrade (shoulda did the che kit)
-Camshaft is BTR Stage 2 NA
-Dual aftermarket valve springs -Aftermarket rear seal cover
-Johnson lifters
-7.600" pushrods (starts of the bad math)
-ARP balancer bolt
-Melling oil pump
-Mahle pistons, standard bore
This is true. The rockers should be fine on an unmolested stock internal motor but once you’re in there, you might as well not be cheap.
Am I the only one who thought this was a game
😆
We just gonna gloss over the fact that this mf said he's 50???
What wheels are those?
The previous owner bought them, I thought they were unique so I kept em. They're STR Racing wheels. 19x8.5/9.5 with 245/285 tires.
They look really good
I appreciate the compliment
