  • Over the Summer of 2014, I had spent some time along Amtrak's Northeast Corridor at a couple different spots in the PA/NJ/DE area. This video is a compilation of that footage. A lot can be seen in this, from the toasters to the new sprinters, Acelas to my last video respects to the HHP-8 fleet, which has been since retired, and even some other neat stuff, including some NJT and even a few Amtrak Diesels. I hope you enjoy!

    Great stuff, Dan! The HHP-8s might have sucked, but I do miss the variety they brought to the NEC.

    8:35- 8:37 What used strobe lights on the locomotive ? Improving the visibility of composition ?

    • @southeasternpennsylvaniara1588

      Their called ditch lights. Some railroads have their locomotives ditch lights blink when the horn is honked and some railroads don’t make their ditch lights blink.

    Why do they switch it to electric on the silver star

    • @southeasternpennsylvaniara1588
      @southeasternpennsylvaniara1588 2 роки тому

      @gabe omalley they switch to electric because diesel locomotives aren’t allowed into NY Penn Station and most trains run electric on the NEC.
