linas, this time i do not agree with you - i would not mess around with this antenna, tune such high swr make no sence. in that particular situation it is a flop!

Thanks for your comment Jo! I think, there is still some room for improvement of this antenna's work on higher bands by putting it higher up on the mast, also, remaking the length of the antenna segments. On 80m, it performs just fine for the local QSO's, the guys from the evening net gave me as good reports as they were giving for my doublet in the same location. I used to have a W3DZZ many years ago, hung between the multistore houses sloping from one roof at some 35m down to the other at some 15m. Used with the tube-type 150W PA , it was a killer-Dx antenna! :) So, it's not a flop design , IMHO, but there is so many other factors... 73! Linas LY2H

@@Linas_LY2H yep, the design must not be a flop but as i mentioned in that represented situation it is imo useless. interesting anyway sotabeams explicit asserted no tuner needed .... !? as we know at our neighbor land things already may look different. everything above 2:1 i am not going to use it `cose too much loss, specially at low power. 73

the very first aerial i built and it was spot on... more by accident than design I suspect ... Nick G8SYE
