Serenova Tract Day Use & Campground South West Water Management District (28.3291558, -82.5693654) This free campsite is a water district campsite. It is a free campsite with a locked gate and reservations need to be made in advance. I (Carrie) felt safe in the campground, in fact, it is a very nice campground. We never saw anyone in the campground area that didn’t belong there. I questioned my safety when walking one of the trails where I felt like I was being watched or followed. Could I have misread the situation….MAYBE…. But I always say “IF IT DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT, DONT DISCOUNT THAT FEELING….. it probably isn’t right. In five years of Boon-docking we’ve had the “something isn’t right feeling” a handful of times. I felt safe in the campground… but no alone walks for me!
It's good you are aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts Carrie. Two important things. I do love your videos. It's especially interesting and helpful that you give campground details! Happy travels!
You are so good at making your videos. Makes an enjoyable experience. Hopefully you’ll be in some same areas as we are and we can chat around a good campfire!!❤❤
We can't believe it was so warm! That was really cool effect with the tree and the squirrel close up. Dave's finds love it. How about that time I think in Colorado you found an un opened camp porta potty. 🤣 Mark (& Teresa) Maryland
Great place. Although not sure about the creepy men! 😮Thanks for sharing. Loved the editing of the sunset. Pinned the location for our next trip to Florida.
Have you had any run ins with the fire ants yet ? They are the worst and Thank God the Scorpion's are just tiny,,And on and on! We lived there for about 9 years and I'm a firm believer that Florida is a nice place to visit !! lol
Wow 220 patreons. You deserve it. You're my favorite channel due to such thorough explanations of your free boondocking sites. Very helpful and informative. Sounds a bit scary there. That's what can be bad traveling alone. I hope you got those guys on video camera. Good idea to always have the video camera running so you can point it directly in their direction. Stay safe. I enjoyed your split screen of the squirrel and sunset.
@thelmahenriques6454 i agree an actual photo with a camera wouldn't look appropriate. Would be invasive. I actually was trying to say hidden video camera. Maybe nonchalantly. Sorry for the confusion.
If a big skoolie can do it my Rpod and van can do it...yay! Horse water tub? Born n raised 70 years in florida and thanks to you tube I realize every day there are sooo many places I never heard of or have been to. Thank you. Beautiful pond...scary man story...glad you have a man and big dog!! These days you never knowing have a small freezer in my van...NO solar...I love it
Better safe than sorry Carrie, happy you had Roodle with you. Maybe homeless or someone has a “farm” back in there. Love the new segment about Dave’s Finds! Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤🐾 🚐😊
Looks like another great place to visit. "Just watch out for everything" is so true! Carrie Glad you made the choice to head back to the Van . Great video 📹
Yeah! A new segment! Great to see you trusting your instincts. Once on a trec here in Missouri, I met a man coming from the other direction carrying a long weapon. Apparently I was in a hunting area. Gave me pause! Great to give people the heads up, thanks for that! Wonderful editing as usual. That squirrel 🐿️ was giving you the business 😂
Carrie, You continue to WOW me and Carol with your photography and video production. Still can't wait to see you and Dave on the road again sometime. We're here again to leave our weekly thumbs up. Be happy. Be safe and be blessed, Michael and Carol. P.S. I'm like Dave, I like finding stupid stuff too.
+Michael Bennett thanks guys! It was great meeting you both in person! Dave always finds things… it’s very rare that he doesn’t! I also wanted to say thank you for the state park pass😃 we spent the day at Manatee state park and I (Carrie) snorkeled in the crystal clear spring… it was very cool!
@@oneadVANtureatatime Did you make a video? I CAN'T WAIT too see your upcoming videos. I just went camping at Alston Tract with a buddy. Hasty public access comes to mind on the Buffalo River! (36.0081533, -93.0822323) We stayed here a few years ago and loved it. It only has one site! But you can stay overnight in the parking area also. Nice sandy beach and river access. We removed this video after learning the Buffalo river is a National Park and I didn't want a ticket for flying my drone. It is amazing. I hope it's still open.
Great video, just keep your dog clear of the water, a gator can be under the water and jump up on that shoreline in a fraction of a second. Not trying to scare you, just want your dog to be safe. 🥰
That first pine is a slash pine or possibly a longleaf pine. The second group of pines shown from below are definitely longleaf pine. They have large serotinous cones (fire opens them to release seed) like ponderosa. Ponderosa pine doesn’t grow over this way (East US) that I’ve ever seen anyway. Florida is mostly slash and longleaf and loblolly pine with some shortleaf and sand pine here and there.
This place is only about 3 miles from where I live. Used to work in that area with cows. Had I known that you were there, I could have met you at Beef O Brady's for lunch. those old bath tubs were used all around here for livestock. It is nice in there just to close to home for me to camp.
The triptych shot of the sunset was great! It'll be nice to have that extra solar too. You guys already have a pretty good setup but we know there never is enough power. Great vid you two.
Thank you! I made the frame for the solar panels and hope to mount them tomorrow! Energy is like potato chips...the more you have the more you want. 😂👍
LOL Roodle and the ball before your walk! I've camped and hiked for decades and only had one uncomfortable encounter. The guy was a tad too happy to see me. Anyways, thanks you two, for the awesome videos! 👍😎🇨🇦🐾
Living in Florida we try to take advantage of all the water management areas with our promaster. The reason they are empty is because people book these free sites & never cancel. We find them all booked & at times never see another soul. Enjoy your videos. 👍😎
Any campgrounds in the State of Florida that are in close proximity to any store you will find Transit people and homeless people living in or around these campgrounds. As a Floridian, carry your second amendment at all times. If you don't have one, get one.
You might research or try composite decking for your roof rack. I know they last for years as decking. They dont rot and you dont have to finish or paint them.
When Dave showed his treasures we started laughing remembering when he found the camp toilet and used it as his campfire seat 😂 Mo is the same way… he is always looking down and finding cool stuff!

That is one good thing about Montana you do not need to worry about alligators just big balloons. Carrie you should take your pike or walking stick with you. The guy shoulda been more friendly. But as a hiker in a more urban area, sometimes a trail close just gets the legs working. Wouldn’t be surprised if those trails weren’t a ped thruway in the neighborhood. Be careful kids.
Unfortunately rumor has it that one might encounter questionable folk living/hiding out in Florida forest areas. Ones fleeing from law enforcement. Gal by herself best to carry mace, concealed weapon or walk with a large intimating dog. 🧚♂️
I should also mention the dude that was following you may have been homeless, they don't have a lot of places to go in this area, so they setup homeless camps wherever they can be un noticed.
With all due respect, this is how people get attacked by gators. You let your dog lead you to the water on the swfmd property. Almost all fresh water lakes in Florida have the potential for gators. Dogs are definitely on the menu for alligator, and your dog was attached to you by leash. Be safe and enjoy.
Never camping in Florida again. Back when we traveled in our motorhome with my ex and two of my sons. The kids made friends with a family near the campground. We went to pick the kids up and everybody was out back and the dad was sitting on the patio, watching the kids with a gun in his lap! Of course I freaked out and wanted to know why and he said oh just in case a gator grabs one of the kids in the creek(?)!? he said it was actually a thing to see the gators in the water behind their house. No, no no.! 🚐👍🏻❤️

You have a very rebellious and spoiled kids 😂
He barked a lot in that video! 😂 When he gets excited he likes to let us know. 👍😀
Living in Alaska you guys are going to need MONEY for food. You all know every thing is so much more money. $$$$.
No, no no.! 🚐👍🏻❤️
Strange I left a comment here last week, but it's missing.
