I remember seeing Ms. Raitt in a small college gym, Montclair State College in New Jersey. Also, Billy Joel in Fairleigh Dickinson's gym. I was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band in Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank and the Capitol Theatre In Passaic. Elvis Costello at the Stone Pony. I could go on and on. So lucky to see such talent in small venues.
God. She is so good. I agree with a previous poster as well..... Gadd really contributes a lot to the general vibe. The whole thing .... so tasty. Love it.
This song is from the Streetlights album released during 1974, which for reasons no one can explain did not do well. I remember buying the 8 track version in 1976 at a reduced price. Bonnie had not made it yet, but I knew the talent was there. I played that 8 track repeatedly during a Florida trip. I cannot listen to this song without smiling.
Indeed. And funny to think of her opening for him, while still a a college student "'Cliffie" in Cambridge. Bonnie was, and still is, one of the very best -- both as an artist and as a person.
He tends to sing his "greatest hits" at concerts because he thinks that's what people want to hear. But he has such a rich catalogue of fantastic music that I agree, I wish he'd sing more of his other songs at concerts for those of us who know more than just the hits and would love to hear them. And yeah, Bonnie Raitt was terrific on this.
You can see the drummer slightly mess up starting at 2:52 lol! You can see Bonnie smile and Blue Lou in the background was even confused. Nice recovery though.
Brother James is no fool. Can you imagine the aura around young Bonnie? Who WOULDN'T want her opening for them? She left Cambridge a handful of years before I hit the scene ... ... welp, can't have everything.
That entire program was really good. Springsteen does a cover of "The Millworker" which was incredible and Crosby and I think Nash? And Sheryl Crow perform "Mexico". It's a night in tribute to James Taylor and the whole thing was excellent!
What a great band. Gadd, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Michael Landau on guitar...doesn't get tastier. Any idea who the 2nd guitar player and the keyboard player is ? What show was this ?
Bonnie Raitt is a national treasure. She is age-less.
She's a super talented lady. Awesome voice. She's one of a kind.
Just like James Taylor.
Great arrangement. Great band. Bonnie hits a home run.
Might be one of the best JT covers I've ever heard. Just tasteful.

I will always love this old gal. Hands down the baddest red head to ever sing the blues.
Bonnie you always put a smile on my face!
Bonnie Rait does this song great justice. Really mellow.
I have never seen this fantastic video, thank you for showing it . Have always loved Bonnie.............
We love you Bon!❤
Whenever I hear this song, I can’t help to tear up. Lost a friend to addiction….
You can’t hide the truth with a happy song. ⛈
Great Line!
She is Toughed by Gods! Love her!!!

Michael Win Every dang song on that album is just sweet and juicy. Fantastic! Bonnie Raitt always had it and she still does
probably one of the most depressing albums ever made?
She is still so amazing after all these years...a true legend, and a major influence on so many newer female artists...LOVE HER!
Always wonderful and awesome!!
Beautiful..

Superbe, comme toujours et pour toujours

She sings the melody half wrong, far too much improv. Leave that to Aretha
SIMPLY THE BEST!
fantastic! my fave song of hers too. BRavo!
thanks, Bonnie.
In Cambridge, ready for the hurricane and happy to see your musical good wishes.

Nobody does it like Bonnie!
cworden1000 "Nobody?" Gee maybe the person that wrote does. Ya think?
She's bad to the bone. So much soul.

What a great band. Gadd, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Michael Landau on guitar...doesn't get tastier. Any idea who the 2nd guitar player and the keyboard player is ?
What show was this ?
This was a commemoration to James Taylor. I remember seeing this on PBS a few year’s ago.
Bonnie is my THIRD wife..! I've seen her diff. times and know her since a long time...The LADY is GREAT..!
Is this at Tanglewood?
It's in LA on February 6, 2006 two days before the Grammys.
James Taylor for me. Raitt twisting the melody all ways out
