The Weeknd’s entire story has spoken so much to the story of my addiction to opiates and just in life....in addiction you feel it’s making u better it’s what u need, you have withdrawals without it ...but your blinded and literally numbing yourself for years of your life thinking your getting better because your not feeling pain (that you should be feeling) and what’s funny is everytime I would take a few pills and lay in my bed headphones blaring into my head as my body went numb and I couldnt feel my face I always wanted to listen to The Weeknd it made it feel okay like yeah it’s probably the wrong thing and I’ll eventually withdraw again but I love it so much and it makes me feel like heaven in this moment and it’s the best thing I’ve ever felt...but as I got older and lost ones i loved and craved someone to love me so much there was one thing I never did...i never knew myself I never loved myself..and for the past two years I’ve been sober and honestly I’ve avoided The Weeknd’s music almost...crazy right lol it’s music right why would it effect me so much (even though it’s always what I wanna listen to and I love all of his music) I couldn’t listen to it because it would make me miss the numbness that I used to experience along with it and now I’m laying here feeling 28 years of repressed emotions...I’m laying here stripped down to the real me, no disguises no one to love me...so I have to heal that trauma and all of the wounds on my own when all this time it’s what I thought I was doing (and I still don’t really know how) but the entire last album that you’ve put out Abel Tesfaye has made me feel like I’m not alone....
