As a GA fan, I told everyone following the GA/Clemson game, especially Clemson fans, that Clemson has a very good offense and a great defense. I told people to stop ragging on Coach Dabo because he is a very good coach and without him, Clemson would be irrelevant. And he did it his way. I also told everyone that Clemson would blow out App State. And....that Clemson would go on to play for, more than likely win the ACC and make at least the 2nd round of the playoffs. GA is a different beast. I can count on one hand the number of teams that can even compete with this GA team. Bama will get the same treatment as well, in a couple of weeks.
@SauceK5 Nick Saban just had a clout with the refs, for whatever reason. Refs would end up costing games for a lot of teams that played against him. If Kalen DeBoer receives the same treatment, then I'm pretty Bama alums have been paying Refs off. If not, then maybe Nick just had clouts with them because Refs cost GA the 2017 Natty and a potential 3-peat last season. Bad calls against GA all night in that 2017 Natty, to cap it off with a phantom offside on Bama's punt that allowed the game to even get to overtime. If Bama punts, GA would have won in regulation time. Bad calls all night against GA in last year's SEC Championship as well, to include a non-review on a 4th down catch that was clearly trapped by Bama's receiver when shown on the replay. By rule, the refs should have reviewed that play, but they didn't. That allowed Bama to eventually score a TD while burning some clock as well, to limit GA's ability to put a scoring drive together. In their game against South Florida, even the announcers pointed two egregiously bad calls that went against South Florida. Those bad calls were costly against South Florida. That probably happened because Saban was there for the field to be renamed after him. If it continues, then I'm thinking Bama's albums have something to do with all these bad calls against Bama's opponents. I'll just have to wait and see.
2019 definitely saw complacency in the offensive scheme. Elliott just had them trying to beat their guys with better athleticism on pretty vanilla plays. Its why LSU got the better of us - they had equal talent and better scheme
I honestly think it's nerves. Everyone played intimidated, especially Klubnik. Even in his interviews, Klubnik comes off as a somewhat nervous guy. The best QB's in the world all have that cool and confident swag about them, Cade doesn't really have that. He has a ton of talent, but he has to learn how to be calm under pressure.
Brian at Georgia we all know Kirby is the master of adjusting and coming out after half . I know y’all are tired of hearing it but Dabo needs the transfer portal to get a few good players to create depth if nothing else

I think it's possible Clemson's coaches wanted to be conservative vs UGA because they weren't sure the offense was ready to be opened full throttle and were hesitant to throw the freshman playmakers into the deep end. Similar to how Clemson was hesitant to commit to Deshaun vs UGA
This is probably the first time we see GR signatures all over the Clemson offense. Now, GR is in full control of our offense for sure. I feel like we will go in a completely different direction. Maybe we'll face UGA again in the playoffs. We'll be super competitive.

App State was given a 9.5% chance to win the sunbelt and probably winning 7, maybe 8 games. Clemson didn't just find themselves in practice last week. They did what they were suppose to do. If you reverse the 2 weeks and play Georgia 2nd, you may score more than 3 but you're still taking that big L. Keep in mind Georgia would have had a scrimmage too. Having said all that, the ACC is so weak you may win the conference. But if SC's offense improves and they're Defense stays healthy Clemson loses to South Carolina. They're front 7 are like the old fireant days. DB'S not bad either.

Dabo and his staff intentionally threw the game against UGA, their biggest game all year, to open up the play book against App St. They did try to throw the ball downfield and Malakai Starks said thanks.... Your ability to look open up the playbook certainly depends on the ability of the other team's defense...
