@@queenelizabethiv7012 the rpg element revived the game imo. Story after ezio and desmond was mediocre and didnt make me feel as invested in the characters. With alexios I felt like I wasnt tied to a linear story and almost forgot the inclusion of layla herself, because of its massive scale. So hyped for this
They’ve announced the character is pretty much fully customisable, hair styles, beards, tattoos, war paint. U can also customise members in ur raiding party and u can customise ur own settlement.

I have to agree. If you think the game is different than those who came before(pun intended), That's fair. But mate this is the 3rd game like that. There's really not much point saying that as a criticism now. If the new games, its rpg and fantasy elements don't excite you, that is fine. But after this much time they should see that this is the path Ubisoft decided to took, for good reasons in my opinion. They can hop back if Ubi ever decides to "return to roots" in their opinion.

Is it possible to change it up while keeping true to the Assassin's Creed vibe? For me, if I wanna fight mythological monsters, I'll go to fantasy games like Witcher and GoW. I'm really hoping they get rid of the shite mmo-rpg aspects almost as much as I hope they go back to making things feel historically authentic.
They said their changes were inspired by the Witcher 3, and yet that game doesn't have the mmo feel like odyssey.
And what was wrong with Unity? I think all the bugs overshadowed the fact that it had some pretty cool revamped features, from sneaking to combat to parkour. I loved it!

that can't be Ragnar... Alfred the Great was the one writing that paper and Ragnar was already dead at the time.

The lead is called Eivor and he’s a new made up character for the series. Ragnar’s actually an established character in the AC lore and was a member of the norse assassins but it’s doubtful we’ll see him in this

JP World I actually just found out the name Eivor’s supposed to be a woman’s name in norway so maybe the canon character’s supposed to be female Eivor like Kassandra in Odyssey. Then again the devs said they managed to make both versions canon in the game but we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out

Daniel Antony I always find it jarring in Origins or Odyssey, it’s either of them, when eventho you’ve plunged your blade into an enemy’s neck in a stealth assassination attempt they still wouldn’t die bcs your blade’s not upgraded enough. Hopefully they just take the blade as it is like in the older games for Valhalla

Actually.....the Vikings were incredibly ahead of their time when it came to ships. They were the first ones to learn how to build a boat that could safely navigate open ocean. No other boats could do that, making ship battles pointless and historically nonexistent. Cannons also weren’t a thing either, so all we’re talking about as far as “ship battles” is boats shooting arrows at each other lmao
Also, what I REALLY love is you see king Alfred sign the decree of war in this trailer, and on that decree, you see IVAR underlined...holy fucking shit. This game might not only make up for the woke disappointment that is TLOU2, but be one of those game’s I come back to over and over and over again....can’t fucking wait. I didn’t even know this existed, so I’m completely blindsided by this too. I have a Nordic ancestry, so I’m incredibly excited to be able to actually be immersed in my ancestors lifestyles. Here’s to hoping it’s the true game of the decade.

No denying Vikings simply had the best kind of ships/navigation of their time but doesnt it get your brain running about polynesians? I mean hell they discovered almost all of what the Pacific islands are now. To sail across such vast oceans and pin point islands so small compared to something say england. It's just mindblowing to think about nun the less
skinny C0okz well it’s not that sailing the open ocean in anything less than a viking longboat meant certain death, but it was much more daring and difficult in any other boat. Anything less would threaten to snap under its own weight in a storm 🤷🏼♂️ it’s possible they just discovered good routes that kept them out of the way of storms haha
@@Sauceburger. honestly while yes it is impressive how they traveled around to different islands we still have to remember that they werent doing it from the directly open seas with no land in hundreds of miles, they likely had areas in the waters that was pretty safe to sail across with storms not being there so often etc as opposed to the northern areas of the seas where the sea can get really extreme, we also have to take in that alot of the people that came west before everyone else came from the time when they likely could walk across, might be from russia to alaska perhaps. As the environment has changed alot in the time humans has existed, so has it had a meaning for how people traversed to different countries and continents. Some places where its all ocean now very well might of have been walkable back then or it was just not very deep waters :)

I played black flag and syndicate and i loved them and jumped to origins and Odyssey and they were excellent games i think the series needed new direction and they kind brought ac to life with origins , can't wait for this one

This is one I've been waiting for, my home has some Norse history. I don't think it will be in the game or mentioned but the expedition the Norse vikings made across the Atlantic to Iceland and Newfoundland is something I hope to see or hear of, this game is around the time of Leif Erikson. The Viking who led the expedition to Newfoundland, or Vinland as they called it.

One gameplay aspect will be that you will have a village which will be upgradeable and from which you will be able to go raid in England with some companions Vikings!
Assassins Creed Origins and Odyssey were good, but I miss the old AC games.
Odyssey was so shit, never had the goosebumps ending, that origins did when "papa jump" or even unity did when Arno's speech. Or with the ending song in ac4. I'm just hoping that they announce Odyssey as non Canon

@@jacka8045 I get that, but the story's ending is not as big of a deal in a massive open world sandbox game as it is in an intricate story-driven game or any other entertainment medium for that matter. You can get hundreds of hours of quality and engaging gameplay out of Odyssey, but the entire thing is shit because the ending doesn't give "goosebumps" to the player? That is enormously unfair to the game.
I just hope they can get back to their roots. All i want is is a good character for the present day, and a character who is actually an assassin in the past. Here is to hope

Guys, the enemy the Assassin faces is called a Huscarl. They are the Saxon King's elite bodyguard(s) that did time or service in the Varangian Guard (Byzantium Rus Vikings Orthodox or whoever could pay the entrance fee). How so? Because Harold Godwinson at Hastings 1066 had these elite troops and even after an English traveller noted that he actually found many of his friends there in Constantinople after William the 'Bastard' Conqueror took the throne. Meaning this, if the Orthodox Rus are involved in some way and judging from the Snivelling bearded fellow next to King Alfred in the Trailer may be Ethelred 'the Unready' could you be surprised that you've got Viking Templars as well?

Although I love all Assassin's Creed games, most of the older ones were basically the exact same game, not much set them apart at all; they needed a change to keep the franchise alive. Thank God they decided on the direction they did, is all I can say. The newer games may seem different but they still bear the same creed.
I just hope there is dismemberment like the trailer shows... would feel a lot more in the realm of the Viking brutality
Dedicated to all those who continue to criticize the Ac series, first you say that a game is not an assassin creed because it doesn't have a hidden blade, and when there is you invent something else. Accept the change or keep pressing the counterattack buttons in Ac2. Think if the first Ac started with the Vikings and now in 2020 it had arrived at Ezio Auditore, you would have said it was different and you wouldn't have accepted it for sure. If you think about it, it would be like saying that a person who played the first Cod stopped playing when Mw came out.
I critisize the newer games because they lost the story. I liked origins but you could already tell that they went further and further away from the assassin story line, in odysee it simply wasnt an assassins creed game, it was an rpg game with a (my opinion) bad story. I couldnt get into it as much as the other games. All i want is this game is them to explore the story far better and actually improve
All they need to do is create a Modern Day storyline to support the games. That’s why the first few games were so successful and people didn’t realize it until Ubisoft butchered Modern Day, which ultimately made the Animus experiences kind of pointless.

I don't agree with what you said about history, I have never seen something so immersive as the setting of Origins and Odissey: I mean have you ever beeen in Egypt and Greece, I have been there and there are only stones. They worked so hard that they brought back an entire civilization, starting from famous historical figures to the details of everything (they coloured all the temples in Greece) @Mukisan is right the only bad thing is the modern story, but calm down, in Valhalla we will have Otso Berg and Miles's father. @@francescofioroni70 mate i played origins fully 100% and played odysee for half the game and lost interest. Origins didnt have much to do with the present day. I didnt even remember what the name was of that woman. What did we do in the present day? Nothing. I think origins was still a great game which also told a good assassins creed story. Odysee however? It was not assassins creed. Didnt bring much to the story at all and was a simple rpg system. You could choose the gender of the main protagonist which for me doesnt make it that canon to the story.

I would probably play female, but it's only because I get a greater enjoyment out of the atypical archs when it's a woman (like FemShep, the female Boss of Saints Row, etc). But even if there was no choice I would play the hell out of this like I did the Ezio trilogy.

I don’t care what gender the characters are. If they’re likeable and badass I don’t care! I’ve played 9 out of the 10 main titles (skipped Unity, glad I did). This is my favorite game series already & Valhalla will just add to it. Praying this virus doesn’t slow down development & push the game back any. Need it ASAP. Love the vid guys, keep up the great work✌🏾

I agree with the brother in the middle. When they switched up to RPG mode it changed the feel a bit, so I didn't play Origins and Odyssey yet. I'm not saying they were bad, I can't tell aside from the little I played of Origins. But with this new one coming out centred around the Vikings, I might have to catch up and try this.
Am a fan of this game. Still i should say all assassins creed games were fantastic and epic. Specially Ezio and Desman chapters. , black flag , Unity , syndicate , origins , odesy , and now Valhalla . I just love it happy to see ur reaction and i hope you play all the chapters too
I’m Swedish and my ancestors were vikings so I’m very happy Vikings are getting more recognition as people rather than evil killing machines the media makes them out to be, but their still shown as being badass! I cant wait for this game to come out!

There's a dlc thing for odyssey which ties directly into origins showing where and who the original assassins came from etc
My most hyped assassin creed I’ve been waiting for.
Played all of them and love them all! And they have said that there will civilizations you build and create, and full customization from hair, tattoos all the way to armor. There is supposed to be dismemberment as well, and 5 major areas of that time period, Wessex , Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia. And you will get to travel back to Norway as well! This game is going to be legit!

I loved the old AC games but thank god I can't 1 vs 50 and literally one shot everybody without taking a single hit anymore. There's actually challenge and fun in the pure RPG that they are making now, and every new AC game does it better and better. IMO
Now that is a game which lived up to the hype
