The ability to choose your profession/role makes me think it'd be neat to have a game that was kind of like "My Time meets Sims Medieval", where you could at character selection choose one of the town's jobs and essentially replace one of the NPCs and see the same story told from different perspectives, all with slight mechanical variations on a core gameplay loop of farming/crafting/fishing/mining. I need to learn how to make games...too bad I can't write a line of code to save my life!
Yes. There is a game like that already. It’s called “Fantasy Life”. It released on the 3ds. There is a second Fantasy Life game coming out on Switch early next year. You should check it out!
I tried the Demo yesterday and I'm sooo looking forward to this game. It kinda came out of the blue and when I saw the 3D-PixelArt style, my poor lil nostalgia heart instantly started beating faster. I absolutely love the style of the game. Love that your "farm" is just not some kind of flat area. I planted some wheat next to my home and the grapes where it was a bit tilted, which gave the impression of a proper wine-farm. It just look so cozy and the vegetation is so dense that it really makes me feel like living in some kind of wild area. Farming, more specifically selecting the tiles, felt a bit clunky. But everything else worked fine. And dang was the mine spooky! I freaked out when I was about to leave the mine and a spider came down like right next to me and I was just like: "I'M OUTTA HERE! BYYYEEE!" I hope the rest of the game is as good as those first 5 days. ♥ And I didn't see any Early Access Tag on Steam. A full release would be so nice for a change and not having to wait 1 more year before I can properly play it like with many other Farming Games I'm supporting or have supported in the past.
Not safe above ground! Dont know if I triggered a rare random event but on my third night, infront of the ruins, by the town entry, I had a ghost 👻 with chains on his wrist spawn and he immediately charged at me and chased me to my house. I had upgraded my whip thankfully so I killed him when i relaized he wouldnt leave me alone. He dropped 4 ectoplasm vials. Game can indeedy be freaking spooky, love it!
I absolutely love the demo I played earlier, I went with Treasure Hunter profession and I was given a dog to help me hunt for buried treasure, like your Luma helped u with buried treasure too. With the fishing, the copper magnet bait is just a magnet, fishes wouldn't enjoy biting that, it just pull up those sunken boxes. I think to catch fishes u need to use net to catch the caterpillars u see around the farm and use them as bait. Could try that next time if u're going back in with different profession 😄 Your reaction in the underground mine makes me laugh. 1 shot kill was brutal but we have no stamina bar so we can keep going back and mine and mine and mine, and can stay up all night without passing out so that's really cool.
I love the game. I played the demo. I will stay away from the crystals in the caves till I get more powerful weapons. The crystals make the spiders appear faster. Thanks for your video
I played it yesterday, had great fun, you need to catch caterpillars for bait for fishing, and if you follow a blue chicken that plays a tune, he will lead you to a gem,
I was absolutely amazed and so happy whilst playing this game very very promising. Beautiful art style too. I just hate, having arachnophobia that it had awful looking spiders, that’s the only reason I’m debating buying it 😫
I'm sure this is unplanned, but I love that you matched your character again! I played this demo and had a different experience! I picked the brewer and was tasked with planting and brewing wheat for the bar🍺🍻🍺 ! I dislike the fishing, maybe I'm dumb but I don't know why they don't bite. I also died a few times in the cave. IDK what's up with the random darkness consuming your character. The demo was so short, I only got to play for 4 days 😢 I need this game ASAP! The game feels like an old MMO!
I love how every profession is so different! I'll pick one that doesn't rely as much on the caves next time 😆 The fishing certainly is a bit tricky, I'm sure it's fine once you figure it out but I didn't have much time for it in that short demo.
@@JoshGamingGarden I figured out how to do the fishing! You have to aim nearby the fish! Wait for the exclamation mark "❗❗" (it'll do it twice) then once you see the WASD prompt, follow where the fish is going and then eventually it'll stop to let you reel the fish in! 😁
This game really just looks so cute and with a little more tweaks, I can definitely see myself loving it. I tried the demo though and everything went smoothly - until I entered the town. My computer started lagging (i'm assuming it was just all the world gen, bc everything was smooth and crisp on my 'farm' and in the caravan), I became aware of how obsolete the map is, and I was just lost LOL. I wasn't expecting my computer to not be able to handle it so I was a bit sad about that. Guess I'll just have to live vicariously through gameplay vids.
I've had this on my wish list for awhile. I like the look of the game, the exploration aspect, and the variety of professions we can choose from. I chose the treasure hunter profession and spent most of the demo just running around my farm looking for treasure chests and the yellow relic things and that was fun. The variety of Luma's is cool - I got a dog. I wonder if the first one you get is set based on the starter profession you choose. The one thing I really I don't like is the insta death mechanic. I had planned on doing all the professions, but having to avoid the mines will kill at least 2 of them. I find the mine game play to be frustrating and annoying rather than fun, personally. But I also want to do the professions that require going to the mine so it kinda sucks.
Indeed. Being shown a list of loot you're about to lose when you die. It's not for me. I walked in and out the mine sfter every node just to save my loot. And being careful doesn't help. A boulder falls on your head and kills you and you can't see it coming. As charming as the game is. I'm not convinced.
The spiders scared me with that sound. I have wishlisted it on steam. Really excited to play it. Also for some reason the character design reminded me of LEGOs 😅. Also Josh where did you get that cow plushie. It’s so cute 🥰
@@JoshGamingGarden It do seem to me to be the crystals, as each time you hit one, the spiders drop, and the time you did much digging and no crystal, no one came.
Weird thing about this game is: It shows teasers with groups of players together. It lets you pick a profession to make it exciting to play with other people who took a different profession.... And yet this game attracts only solo playing people.
I tried the demo but didn't really like it. I felt like I had no motivation to do anything and didn't know what to do. The map was kinda useless and I got lost in town. Also the spiders killed me straight away so I just quit the game lol. I'm glad you had fun with it though, Josh! :D
Omg I had to go find this video! I loved this game so much at first but now I am getting a little bored. I feel like the quest not changing and just going back and forth lacks substance. Josh you were right again.
Kudos for being one of the FEW that actually announce sponsored because I can see too many UA-camrs not following the law. I have likely been gaming longer than most people are old since the 70's so I have a VERY good understanding how REAL unbiased gamers talk about their games. You Tube has become a cesspool of sponsored and affiliate gaming to the point you can't trust any video on a game unless you really know a person very well. RED FLAGS..........COZY ...love this love that. I have zero vested interest in this game so I can give an honest opinion it is dated and brings us nothing unique so it is not worth playing over better choices in the RPG genre. If I was designing a game nothing here makes my game this is what I call low budget game design a game maybe good back as late as the 90's but I wouldn't play this even if it was 2002 because I was playing FFXI and would never consider this over that game.

Medieval sims was so genius 😭

I was worried about the time passing during menus and dialogue, but it looks like it’s not a big deal because you don’t need to sleep

This game was completely off my radar until I saw how it played and how pretty it is! Wow!
Is this what I'm going to play as I wait for Fantasy Life 2??? Thanks for the great reviews. They're anyways in-depth and fair!

I think the cave spiders had something to do with the crystals.
I love grinding and resource gathering . I’m looking forward to this

Very excited for this game. I cannot wait for it to come all the way out!
I so enjoyed watching your play through! The spider popping up gave me the same reaction 😂😂😂 Also you got the coolest Luma!!
Ive been wanting to see someone play this.
Just finished all the content on mistria
Yay I was hoping you’d make a video about this game!

This seems like such a good game! So many things to do and a lot of new takes on the farming sim genre, love the originality😃
Ohh this really does look nice. Really enjoy these visuals. The little house you get is so cute
This definitely looks worth checking out. I will definitely play the demo. Thanks Josh!
I love that inventory is endless!
Played the demo and loved it ❤❤❤
This game is so cute and the gameplay is so diverse ❤❤
Not being so hyped for a game in a long time 😊😊❤❤

Hopefully they can optimize it by the time it releases!

This game looks really good! Not that I need another game 😂😂 I'm excited, though
It's funny how fast you're getting everything done compared to me, I keep getting distracted XD
You can whip spiders. You can carry an infinite amount of stuff. I quit after a few play sessions because I just didn't think much of this was fun.
I love how this game looks. Its like playing in a little terrarium.
the graphics remind me of faefarm.... its so cute
The spiders scared me with that sound. I have wishlisted it on steam. Really excited to play it. Also for some reason the character design reminded me of LEGOs 😅. Also Josh where did you get that cow plushie. It’s so cute 🥰
It seems hitting the crystal triggers the spider
Ohhh, maybe! Those crystals are quite loud!
@@JoshGamingGarden It do seem to me to be the crystals, as each time you hit one, the spiders drop, and the time you did much digging and no crystal, no one came.
I loved the demo, can't wait to see more!
I like the looks of the game, but the combat looks SO hard!
it looks gorgeous!
Really looking forward to this game. I hope it works well on a ROG Ally that’s similar to a Steamdeck.
Weird thing about this game is: It shows teasers with groups of players together. It lets you pick a profession to make it exciting to play with other people who took a different profession....

More of a combat game like Rune Factory instead of Harvest Moon, OOOH, my type of game!
THIS IS SO CUTE!

Is there no energy or health metre in the game? 😮 I'm so used to there being one so that's kind of surprising to me!
Omg I had to go find this video! I loved this game so much at first but now I am getting a little bored. I feel like the quest not changing and just going back and forth lacks substance. Josh you were right again.
It’s almost giving Stardew Valley vibes
Game is almost perfect, but it falls flat at the combat stage. Just a whip......the whole game? Such a let down.
